I went to like the video and I noticed... You don't have any dislikes. I find that cool because even some of the smaller channels have some dislikes. But then again, your videos are amazing, no doubt! SandWings have to be my favorite tribe out of all 10 and this has really helped because I'm not too great at drawing SandWings Only once have a really been able to draw a recognizable SandWing head, and it was supposed to be part SilkWing so that was my excuse for it being a bit thinner than I wanted. It was astounding to me that I was able to make it so close. Anyway, great job! Thanks for taking time out of your day to do this for all of us!
Honestly the "canon" style of SandWings is pretty difficult and almost nobody draws Sandwings in that style haha. I wouldn't worry about it :P I hope the vid is able to help you at all in some way!
@@Biohazardia It really is. I mostly draw SandWings with a slender snout but not so it looks weird. Usually it's between Canon and the popular style. The video really did help, and I thank you so much!
I always thought that that bump by their neck was like the gland that the dragons use to breath fire because if you look at the cannon style the dragons are drawn in, in the books only the dragons that breath fire have them, except the Rainwings but I'm guessing the gland would then contain the venom they spit instead of whatever's usaly in there that makes the others breath fire.
great video! (I do have 1 criticism. As someone who commonly draws canines especially wolves, the first snout you shown was not wolf like at all. It's much more like a fox, since if you look at wolves, they bave much thicker and shorter snouts. It basically looks like an extended fox snout, or a long slender canine snout, and honestly looks nothing like a wolf snout, asides from the tip of the snout's shape. No offense tho! I just thought I'd say this just in case you didn't know or anything!) This video really helps! Since I'm working on a canine-like sand wing relative fan tribe called Hund-Wings! (Hund means Dog in German) So, they have a similarish look tk sandwings. There snouts are much longer, but there snout is not really that slender at all, kind kf resembling a elongated wolf snout in a way. They also have hkrns that resemble Arabian Onyx's horns, with long ears that resemble a bats or fennec foxes (But much thinner and more dragon like)
Oh i dont really want to read a wof book with the pov of humans/scavengers.. but but! Most people would like that! Also great video!! Omg! Sandwings have keeled scales like hognose snakes!

Oml, rewatching this video, I am like WHAT THIS HELPED ME SO MUCH... I just want to say THANKS because honestly, without this tutorial, I would never have gotten into digital art, and this is SO HELPFUL either way... Btw, HOW do you figure out the proportions for the actual snout? I have to redraw them five or six times before I can do it :( Also, can I do a speedpaint for ya?
I'm happy it helped! Honestly I'm not sure how I figure out the snout proportions. Probably just from drawing so many dragons. You can practice by tracing my tutorial images and once you get the hang of it, make your own images! And of course, I always welcome any fanart of my OCs :)
For the snouts I do more slender ones, but I give sand wings specifically (and sea wings) more neck fat, all of my dragons have a bit of neck fat because they look more cartoonish that way.

Tbh u should actually do one where you show the full vid of one of each style cus ur not rlly like, “oh yeah and this is what you do” and u show instructions
personally i call the "sail thing" a crest, thinking of dinos. also have you ever looked real close at the guide to the tribes SandWing and realized that it's nose spike is attached to its crest, or part of it?
