Can’t beat the Washburn for value. I picked up a “like new” Solid Sitka mini with a great gs-mini type case for $154 on Amazon warehouse. Even at the full price of $399, it’s a great deal; and the Koa version at $299 is incredible. It looks and sounds great and the contoured cut-away is a huge advantage in my book. Plus, it’s unique, unlike the Taylor.
It would have been really cool to hear the washburn play the melody and the taylor play the chords. You guys play great and thanks for testing these travel guitars.
I bought this guitar because on every site Including Washburns it says it is Koa wood. So fucking pissed to learn ive been duped into buying a laminate piece.
@@chloegervais9121 Most mini guitars are made from laminate for durability and to cut costs. It is often impossible to hear the difference with these small guitars. I stopped playing my Baby Taylor when I got this one, and play it more than any other full size guitar, and that real wood top doesn't improve it over this Washburn. I love the look and sound of this baby! So, be happy!
@@kg6497 yeah, I'm sure I would have loved it, you're right! In the end I went with mini seagull guitar which I love. Its really nice to be playing again
@@chloegervais9121 If a manufacturer doesn't specifically say 'solid' you can assume it is laminate. They are not lying. It's still koa wood. But it's laminate koa wood. The Washburn WCGM15SK is solid, but spruce. Not koa.
Would this be a good choice to take along as a camper guitar? Plays ok and sounds ok? Head it’s laminated, stable? Don’t want to bring my fine guitars out and risk damage.
Not many reviews on the Washburn looks gorgeous though how's it play compared to the other travel guitars on the market ? Ex . Takamine . Tanglewood . Cort .sadly i Can't afford a Taylor or a Martin 😂 Also do you have enough room to play bar chords at the 12th fret ? . Thanks ✌️✌️
Nice video... I have the Washburn. The finish was a little rough for my taste so I polished it to a smooth mat finish. Very nice player and built beautifully.
Same for me. Definitely not the build quality of a Taylor but still beats my T Baby in sound and staying in tune. I like the lower, flatter fret wire on Taylors better than the round ones on the Washburn.
Washburn is beautiful but dull tone because its a laminate guitar.. The Washburn has a great price perfect for a beach guitar to toss into the car. Taylor has much better tone but you pay for it.
I was expecting a 'review' of some sort but you guys just said one is mahogany and the other is koa, and that they come with different brand strings. Not much of a review at all

I wish if they played the same tune individually for the comparison. I really could not use this video for accurate comparison.

should note: All laminate Washburn vs solid top Taylor

@@chloegervais9121 I am glad it's laminate. I want to travel with it and be able to leave it out without worrying so much about humidity changes.
decent demo. thanks. the taylor is clearly the better guitar tonal-wise, but the washburn sounds ok.
Garbage solid is not necessarily better than Laminate. We have a Taylor $5000 guitar at our shop that sounds like it has a pillow inside of it.
It's hard to tell the difference when you are both playing at the same time.
Agree switching chords and leads would be helpful. Also comparing the koa Taylor mini would be more informational...

Now I’m even more glad to have gotten the Washburn. Sounds good with a Baggs Lyric in it.
I’ve just ordered my Washburn. How hassle free was it to fit the pickup?
Which one has the larger body
Whats up with the disco ball?
I love my GS mini mahogany
But i wish id have took time to pickup the Washburn for a bit
PLease mahogany top for the CONFORT
G-MINI 55😏

GOT MY WASHBRUN. COULDN'T BE HAPPIER

Is it real Koa wood or laminate?

Your paying for the name you can pay 4000 or even you 400.still got too take care of them there lots up keep they all
washburn quality-price

Playing them both simultaneously is useless for us ...
Which one do you recommend for a beginner taking lessons?
They're both great instruments, but the Washburn does have the comfort carve that a beginner might find useful.
We like them both
Pointless review if we can't hear the guitars individually. I'm not interested in a random jam.
We understand :(
