I will say your hair looks tons better, much more “natural”, fuller, wavier, and deeper in it’s color. Thank you for making the change and helping the rest of us along!
I'm glad you make these videos. As a barber who specializes in long hair, i will tell my clients these tips. But sometimes my clients (especially the younger ones) might view me as an authority figure and not listen vs someone trying to help them. So having a second opinion to send people is really helpful!
Yeah I listened to the product tips from this guy and after 10 dys (5 washes one with nixion and conditioner and 4-5 with QGX shampoo that he recommended for my hair type) my hear is broken! It just broke. Now I will have to cut it. I don't see any chance to fix this. I look like a hobo now... That was a lot of money down the drain and over a year of growing time.
As someone with an incredibly greasy scalp and fine hair I also find that thoroughly brushing my hair with a boar bristle brush and distributing the oils before washing helps with a more even wash. Before I'd often have greasy roots even after washing, so I'd end up using more shampoo which in turn would dry my ends out (I don't have very long hair at all, so I can't really avoid washing the whole shaft). Now that I brush my hair I can use less shampoo in the first place, but also the shaft is protected from drying out by the extra oil. It's actually super soft and shiny after washing, even when I'm too lazy to use any conditioner.
@@zoulzopan I don't know if it has to be. But since boar bristles distribute oils so well I assume using one is helpful. Btw, it's one of these brushes that also have regular nylon bristles in between the boar bristles.
Interesting! I too have fine hair (thick density) and dry ends. Will definitely take this into consideration on my next wash day. Which brush do you recommend then?
I have dry scalp so putting conditioner all the way up to the roots helps giving it a bit of moisture, kinda like a skin lotion for my scalp. I only wash my hair once a week and it never gets oily. Even at the 7th day it's still dry, but dirty. But then it also never really gets extremely dry either as long as I condition my scalp. If I don't condition it, I get very flaky, crusty dry scalp. So I'd say it's (probably) fine putting conditioner all the way up to your scalp if it's very dry and you actually need that extra moisture after stripping away the oils with the shampoo.
A few other tips - 1. Don't wash (your hair) every day. Once a week may be enough for some hair types. 2. Pat dry your hair and let it air dry a little before combing. 3. Use a wide tooth comb, not a brush.
@@mcmerry2846 Your scalp adjusts to your wash routine, so if you have been shampooing everyday then it'll take weeks for your scalp to adjust to your less frequent routine. Maybe wash your hair with water and conditioner and leave out shampooing accordingly to your new routine.
I don’t see how the washing thing would make sense I wash my hair every day because my skin isn’t the best and my hair gets oily too, if I don’t wash it just doesn’t feel right but I am struggling to come up with a Routine, my hair is long and In a bun everyday I really hope I don’t lose my hair lol, my hairline is already looking as if it’s gone back a little and I am 22
I've learn a lot from Tray's well build videos. I even counted my hairs when I thought I was losing my hair. My comment is when I apply conditioner that's when my hair breaks the most. After watching this video I have not brushed my hair before I jump into the shower which now I will and see how that goes.
needing to use minoxidil really throws everything off for me and my 2a-2c shoulder length hair. it's been thinning at the crown for years. I'm afraid to stop using minoxidil but at the same time it makes my hair so greasy and weighed down. switching to finasteride isn't an option, i was on that for a few years, and it nearly destroyed my libido. sometimes i feel like i should just call it a day and cut it all off. 🙄
@@TravWhiteStyle i use the liquid. I tried the foam but didn't see that much of an improvement. I'm considering trying either Nutrafol, Hims, or Keeps eventually in the hopes that it will allow me to get off of MInoxidil alttogether.

Just go Bald, you will end up loosing the hair anyway, the sooner the better and you'll feel so much less stressed about it. My hair is completely fine and I'm still young, I grew my hair out for a year and a half, it looked great, then I shaved my head Bald and kept it that way for three months. Not because I really enjoyed it, but because if I ever do go Bald (loose my hair) I now am 100% sure I will be fine getting rid of it, instead of fucking up my testosterone levels to have my hair back. Every man should go Bald in preparation for what could possibly happen, stop trying to avoid it and just accept it.
my hair isnt that long right now so idk how to only get my scalp with the shampoo? im also using head and shoulders classic clean shampoo and tresemme moisture rich conditioner and im not sure if those are a good pair or not but they seem to be doing good for me right now
I have actually been washing my hair with the wrong products for the whole of 2022. I wondered why my hair was looking weird after washing it, and I have been getting greasiness and all kinds of shit going on. I just thought it was normal for your hair to look a bit weird after washing it, and I just accepted that if I was planning to go out on the weekend or to an event that I would have to wash my hair the day before. But when actors go out to events they most likely have there hair washed and pampered on the same day and look good🤔 I was working in hospitality and my hair was not quite long enough to tie up. I was being hassled when it wasn't even that long so I tried to do the Jax teller slick back look with pomades but I wasn't happy because I didn't want to be fucking my hair up with product everyday, I have been to a few hairdressers and barbers in my city to ask them to help me slick back my hair with pomades LoL 🤣 but not all hairdressers and barbers know how to do that. But for the past year I have been using Bondi Boost, which was okay while my hair was shorter and then I tried this other natural brand called calia natural. I have been switching back and forth between these since the start of 2022 and my hair feels like shit everytime I wash it. My hair is actually quite thick and when I have been using these products it feels like they are damaging and thinning my hair and it takes 2 days for my hair to start thickening up after using these products. It's finally made sense when I seen this video about 2 weeks ago now and I washed my hair last week and I randomly had a reaction on my scalp at the top back of the head. It's been sore and I've had to use ice packs and not even wet my hair for almost a week now because it's been so sore. I am finally able to massage my finger tips around the area and I can just feel all the buildup of all this shit I have been using for the past year and I guess my scalp has finally had enough and it's saying to me what the fuck are you doing to me man! It's kind of a blessing in disguise, although my head has been sore the past few days I am looking forward to getting the right products asap. I have noticed I haven't been able to massage my scalp properly while washing it, most likely because of the shit products I have been using, but also I have realised now, to really relax and take my time using my finger tips to slowly massage and relax the hair and scalp allowing for a proper cleansing and stimulation of the scalp so it promotes the growth and thickness. I can't believe I have been ruining my hair for the entire year and like you said about the hair looking like shit when it should be looking like a lion🦁. I want to get a job bartending but I need to get some new products so I can wash my hair good when my scalp is not sore now, and go into some local bars with my resume to get the job I need and I'm passionate about doing. I know as soon as I get the right products my hair will be clean and looking good and I'll be able to tie it up in which case most likely I will have to have it tied up working the bar. 👍🤙🙌
Should the mid to ends of the hair be washed with shampoo ever? In the video it suggest not too, but eventually it will get greasy. Perhaps once a week or every other week? Should the entire hair wash be in conjunction with the clarifying shampoo?
It's typically only necessary to shampoo the hair closest to the scalp. When you rinse your shampoo it will run over your lengths and that's enough cleansing!
