This is amazing! Not only is this a tour of the property where Abe Lincoln lived, worked and played as a boy, it's the very same piece of property where my grandmother, Elizabeth Lavey was born and lived for more than 20 years! Her father, John Lavey, owned this property, proved by deed records in the LaRue County Clerk's office. The property went from John to his children, who signed their interest over to their brother, Charles Lavey. Charles sold it and it came into the hands of Chester and Hattie Howell Howard.
What a great video!! I like the music that was added. The actor playing Mr. Lincoln tells his story so genuinely. He makes me believe I'm really listening to the real person. I enjoyed hearing the lady ranger talk. Sorry you all were so cold out there!
Winter is the time to visit. We visited in the summer, and after seeing the cabin, we started to walk to the creek, only to find a couple signs saying to be very cautious, due to poisonous snakes in the immediate area. Needless to say we skipped seeing the creek.
Lincoln was seven years old when they left for indiana ,Indiana is where he lived till he was twenty one years old. Spencer county ind his mother and sister are buried there
