    So happy to see a pro talking about Motiv balls and giving us the behind the scenes of their process, and daily bowling life. Really appreciate what you’re building here and I’m glad to see it every step of the way

    Very straightforward and makes a lot of sense to have balls that react well to surface changes. Thanks for sharing your process. It made perfect sense to me.

    Would love to see a video about how to know things like the front burning up, what it looks like and what it looks like when the ball reads the middle of the pattern, etc etc

    Great video Andrew! You are off to a strong start with growing your channel. I also have a degree in Elementary Education. I agree with having a variety of shapes in the bag. 1- Pitch Black (spare) 2- Black Widow 3.0 3- Phaze 2 4- Rotogrip Duo 5- Motiv Black Venom 6- Hustle M-M. These pieces react well to surface changes. I look forward to your Motiv perspective since the other channels I follow are Brunswick and SPI folks.

    Great channel.
    Pleasure to meet and bowl with you the other day.
    Just wanted to share with you that I am taking lessons with Cheryl daniels. On the road to getting back into form.
    Go Motiv!

    Andrew, I'm happy to find your channel. I primarily throw Motiv. I completely agree with what you said about the Crimson Jackal. Out of the box, it just kept going a little to long for me leaving a lot of 10pins. Then I finally decided to knock the shine off of it with 2000 and WOW did it ever come to life for me. Reads earlier and is definitely a hockey stick motion. I look forward to more of your videos.

    Love to hear about the Motiv balls... I wanted to build a Motiv arsenal but couldn't find much help locally or online. Lol, although this was when you were with another ball brand that I did go with. Can't wait to see what you do with the channel.

    I bowled it the first day of competition this year. From top to bottom I took BW 3.0, Brunswick Defender, Hyroad Max, Storm Soniq pin down, Black Widow Urethane, and DV8 Tactic Control for spares. Used BW 3.0 and BW urethane mostly. Only my second nationals. Had a great time.

    Great video! I think something that would be cool to see is a little more technical perspective on when you should use certain balls. Sydney Brummett does a great job with this on PWBA telecasts. For example, if the fronts are hooking too much, do you look towards a high RG low diff ball? And also maybe something explaining kind of where the ranges lie for RG and diff to be considered low, medium, or high

    Great video, we definitely need more like this! Only thing I'm confused with is you saying the Black venom is very angular in motion? I thought it was a very smooth motion, one of the smoothest in the Venom line? At least going off the Motiv ball chart lol I was expecting you to say the Hyper Venom lol

  • @feqz368
    @feqz368 Місяць тому

    Amazing Video! Can you describe a little bit how to play with Layouts as well when building your Arsenal? I am having 3-4 different Layouts on my balls. For instance I would describe my Hyper Venom, as only a little weaker than my Crimson Jackal and I am always wondering why. I think its due to layouts.

  • @josephkenney2977
    @josephkenney2977 Місяць тому

    Awesome video! Other than the Venom Shock and the Crimson Jackal, do you keep the other balls more or less at factory surface most of the time? I have a Black Venom and I've been playing around with the surface a fair bit, it seems to take surface changes pretty well.

  • @ACommentFromYouTube
    @ACommentFromYouTube Місяць тому

    I kinda knew the venom shock was going but for a moment I was questioning it since you saved it for last

  • @David-ko9vy
    @David-ko9vy Місяць тому

    How would you classify the Venom Shock rounded or angular? I am a big fan of Motiv equipment as I like the Microcell line. I grew up in urethane and the motion is so close it is more what my eye likes to see. I might get more into resin side of the line in the future. I do have a Jackal Ghost which to me seems like a rounded motion as well however pretty strong. My bowling style is a heavy roll (high track) with slower speed so the Microcell delays the roll for me. The shock is something I have considered since as you point out here it is kind of the old faithful of the Motiv Line.

  • @pethomas1223
    @pethomas1223 Місяць тому

    Great video AA! Appreciate the insight. If we don't have a Black Venom, what else in the Motiv Line would you sub in for that weak angular motion?

    Hi. 62 year old beginner here. Started bowling 3 months ago. My 1st ball was a 13 pound Cuda Powercore Pearl. Bought it before I knew that the Brunswick and Storm brands use a generic core on their lighter balls and that ball just wasn't good for me.
    Switched to Motiv and bought a Crimson Jackal and a Hyper Venom. My three game average went up more then 30 points and I threw my highest game so far (217) with the Jackal. Both balls do exactly what I expected.
    I just bought the Primal Shock to fill in the huge gap between the other two. Haven't thrown it yet, it's at the proshop to be drilled.
    Was this a good choice for me (average speed, low rev. The center I bowl most at uses a different challenge pattern every week) or should I have gone for another ball? Also, what should my next ball be once I have saved enough money to expand my arsenal?

  • @danielcordido85

    Where would you place the Hyper Venom in this bag? What does it overlap with or which one are you taking in its place?

    So I am contemplating on what to take to Jr Gold. I have about 300-350 revs, very forward rotation, with 15.5-16 MPH ball speed. What would you guys take out of this arsenal( we only get 5 balls)
    • spare ball(plastic must have)
    •ambush at 360
    •black hammer at 180
    •ghost pin down at 500
    •crimson jackal at 4000
    •raptor at 1000
    •phaze two with super strong layout at 2000
    •IQ tour at 2000
    •nuclear forge(green one) 4000 with shine
    •black venom pin down at 3000 with shine

    Good video. Nice simple explanation. When you are building an arsenal (you specifically), do you take into account core numbers and sym/asym, or do you just keep it really simple and only look at strength and ball motion?

    • @AndrewAndersonBowling
      @AndrewAndersonBowling  Місяць тому +1

      Oh absolutely, there will be another video eventually that’s way more in depth, but wanted to start simple

  • @enigmazero8624
    @enigmazero8624 Місяць тому

    Can you explain why so many pros use urethane balls for spares? I don’t understand the benefit of throwing the earliest hooking ball (which likely has a ton of surface on it to make it useable) for spare shots. I realize most high level right handed one handed thumb in players are versatile enough to throw any ball straight at spares, so at that point why even carry a spare ball?
    I’m not trying to tell people what to do; just asking for an explanation to help me understand the thought process.

    Where would the Primal Shock fit in that arsenal? Would it fit somewhere between 2-4 spots?

    • @AndrewAndersonBowling
      @AndrewAndersonBowling  Місяць тому +5

      I would probably put it just above the pride dynasty due to the core being bigger! And a little sharper downlane

      I like the arsenal talk in Motiv ease. If you happen to want some ideas; it's summer and sports shot season. Maybe break down a pattern sheet, Every time I think I get it, the breakdown is bad or I just don't get it. I just go back to solve the miss, and get behind till I find my new line. Ty

    Thank you, finally a brand I can follow because a few years ago I switched from storm to motiv. I just got back from Vegas bowling nationals. I brought the forge flare, crimson jackel and the black venom. Black venom I never threw and the forge flare was my go to as my crimson was to shiny and did me no good. I love the dedicated channel,to motiv as that’s what I throw.

    Just curious why you didn’t include the blue coral venom? I feel like the black,shock,and exj are so close that the blue coral could’ve replaced one of them.

    • @AndrewAndersonBowling

      Coral got beat by the new EJ ball because it rolls about two feet earlier than the coral and it separated it self further from the other two

    so happy to see PRO, talk about balls that he is paid to use,does not have to pay for and we can not afford to buy 5 or 6 of....reviews are good,but only by someone not on their payroll...if balls cost $50,I could buy 3 or 4 but when they cost $200 PLUS shops don't drill for free when you buy $200 ball...here they charge $40,so you start at $240 per ball...not getting but maybe 1 a yr. if that...the $240 ball better last 3 or 4 seasons...not just 100 games. this is why I still use OLD hard rubber most of the time..I have resin balls,but when lanes get dry rubber works best and I've never had a rubber ball CRACK like resin does and that happens ALOT..if you have resin,you know about the cracking.
