Don’t hesitate for one second to use the Grims. I have no experience with them in elk or moose but in deer they have never disappointed. I have about 15 deer kills with them and everyone has died within 50 yards and 5-6 seconds. Last mule deer buck was hard quartering away, entered between back 2 ribs and passed through lengthwise out opposite in front shoulder at 42 yards. Huge blood trails. I have never not had a pass through with one. The slogan watchem drop, is true. Love them
I’ve used grim reapers the last 4 years and killed 3 deer watched them all die and 1 bull elk and watched it die also. None lived longer than a minute they are absolute beasts!
Great video! Which model of the Grim Reaper was tested? I have had great success with the Micro Hades Pro 100grain heads. The NAP's arrow flight was corkscrewing during the flight test! Trying out the SEVR 1.75 this whitetail season.
I shot sevr for elk this year… the elk died but not much of a blood trail. The biggest problem I see with it once the blade hits something on one side the blade locks and doesn’t shift back to both blades … big down fall you lose half you cutting diameter on contact with bone. Convinced me to go back to fixed blade. Just and observation from my experience…
I lost a big whitetail deer last year on a not so great shot with Killzone! Watched him bed… and get stood up by another buck locking up with him. He walked across a bean field 250 yards bleeding hard, head down bad shape. He layed overnight and we never found him in a 250acre corn field! Other deer in past fell in sight with Killzone…. Grim reaper try this year but think the Killzone was not issue as much as my bad shot. 8 inches penetration on shoulder deflection!
Quartered too… he was making a scrape at 35 yards and turned towards me as shot was breaking… the killzone opens them up for sure but would never try on an elk no matter the setup…. Trying out the deadmeats and thorn broadheads currently for possible elk?
We've seen a lot of comments about the grim reaper not performing, it really surprised us in our tests. It also seems like there's chance for failure in any mechanical broadhead with the moving parts. We still shoot sevr at the end of the day
Not a perfect test but it definitely gives you a good comparison. The real test is experience on animals and the sevr has done extremely well for me in all categories.
We were really surprised on how well they perform! Price is great, our only con is the red o ring is big and loud and effects flight from farther but overall a great broadhead!
So a dull blade or a thicker blade is superior on the milk jug test.....that is what is proven here. Gravity and a pot of blood is not what is inside an animal. I have seen the rage hit deer and elk and the blood absolutely sprays everywhere. The Rage also fly's true to the field tips.
@@MuleyFreak i took a whitetail doe a couple weeks ago before my season ended. With a 1.7 sevr and it put a vicious cut and hole in her . I tucked it right behind the shoulder and the blood trail was gushing everwhere she went about 50 yards and crashed I plan on running sevr next bow season ima try all the sizes..
My question isn't to this video. You guys won't comment on anything else. Why the change of plea? Why the smoke show of videos he was innocent to change a plea? Like come on man.
So, I have taken many whitetails with many different broadheads, and I have tried all of the ones tested and ones not tested, I keep going back to one that always comes out on top for actual hunting, the swhacker 2 inch #207. WHY? One simple and very important reason, PASS THROUGH. It provides a great cut, but it gives a 2-inch exit. This is not a great video. Why a pass through in true hunting situation? Two holes more blood. Also, I have found in TRUE hunting and killing, three blades do not offer the best penetration. Also, I would recommend the Dead Ringer Super Extreme broadhead, again a 2 blade. Another great broadhead that has always provided a pass through. Now this is just my opinion, but after 33 years of hunting and killing whitetails with fixed and mechanical heads, I strongly recommend staying away from three or four blade mechanicals and stay with 2 blade. And many of my friends that strictly bow hunt have always gone back to the swhacker 207 or the Levi Morgan 2 blade. Again, why? years of it is most reliable penetrating and consistent pass through broadhead and killing head. These test are not real life. Reply @Ndprodution15 @Ndprodution15 3 months ago

I’m all in on the GM for deer and javelina coming up. 1-3/8 or 4 blade mini mag. Haven’t decided on that yet.
I can tell you guys put a lot of work into this video and it paid off! Thanks for the info!

All good heads. SEVR and Grim impressed though. Kill-zone was no slouch.
😍
Really enjoyed the video! Impressed with the grim reaper might have to give that a try!!
Thanks for watching, buddy!

My favorite was the drain test! Really surprised by the Walmart broadhead!
Was a lot better than we expected too!

Interesting feedback. What were your thoughts on our test?
Like the video and comparisons! Would love to see The Slick Trick - Raptor Trick in the video or the G5 Meat Eater
We will have to add that to the list, Mike. Thanks for watching!
my biggest buck was taken with the Grim with no pass through ….. been using SEVR past 3 years with great results
Ive been shooting the levi Morgan 269 swhacker its nasty
Good heads?
Surprised how well the walmart broadhead did!! Crazy!
Other than the air in flight it's a nice head.
I just bought some Allen stryker to use for white tail in Maryland. Cant wait to try them for the price savings to me its worth it.
Let me know how they do

Killed my first archery mule deer with the grim reaper. Complete pass through. Didn’t go 30 yards
Great broadhead, killed it in every round!
Perfect timing guys just got on lunch!🇺🇸🏹

@@MuleyFreak having a successful season so far?🤞
Looks like you are a grim reaper salesman to me, I saw things a lot different than you stated!
Never even hunted with the grim reaper, actually. What say ye now?
I have killed deer with the 2” Whitetail Specials from Grim Reaper. You would be impressed with those also.
I'm sure they killer heads.
Grim reapers are insane so happy with how the preform they are fatal
Now I know what to use the next time I go hunting gel, plastic jugs, or sheet metal. 😂
How might that help you hunting? ;)
@@MuleyFreak it doesn't. That's the point.
We love you Erik
Love you back!
Please test the Swhacker I've had great luck with them all around
Next on the list!
Do you think with the grim reaper having 3 blades gave it an advantage verses the 2 blade design from the others? Just a thought I had!
I think less to do with 3 blades and more to do with the design and aerodynamics of it.
Yes. It greatly increases the likely hood of hitting something vital.
What arrows are you using looks Ike sonic 6.0.you hunt with them

I used a grim reaper once, and it failed to open resulting in a lost doe. Anecdotal only, but my experience.

Wow , blade opened in flight on the kill zone at 60 !
Wild huh
Not a perfect test but it definitely gives you a good comparison. The real test is experience on animals and the sevr has done extremely well for me in all categories.
For sure.
they have vids of them shooting thru deer shoulder bone then ballistics gel block and it still penetrated the same
The slow mo shots at 60 yards show those arrows knuckleballing terribly
I only saw one arrow doing that and it was the NAP broadhead, but non one has even pointed out what it did yet.
@@MuleyFreakblade opened up in flight. Just saw it on your short.
Tim Wells the whack master himself endorses the Grim Reapers
You ought to try that on an elk scapula
Elk scapula is def on the list. Thanks for watching!
FYI you should weigh them you will find that the kill zone which I use is probably 105 grains or more is why it shot low
Interesting. Good to know and thanks for sharing!
Seemed like all the broadheads were 2”+ cutting diameter except the sevr
I shoot striker and for the price you can’t beat it

@@MuleyFreak where I’m at it’s rare to get a shot outside of 20 yards. Kentucky hard woods are thick and tough to hunt.
Why test penetration at 5 yards?

What other mechanical broad head would you have liked to see?
You should of done the sevr 2.0
I’ll have to do it next.

No Shwacker or Beast?
Beast wasn’t out at the time.
You should have shot broadheads twice to check your accuracy at 60 yards
thats odd, usually the grim reapers dont do good in tests.
They did in this case.
