The aluminum frame and the Glockish hump on the back of the grip is enough to turn me off. And that UGLY mag well! No thank you. Great video! I am leaning toward the Live Free Armory Apollo 11. I believe it will be a big hit for less than a grand.

    $2,200 Oracle Arms 2311 + $1,500 Prodigy = $3,700 Nighthawk 2011.

You could look at it that way. I choose to embrace the knowledge gained and end up with 2 nice guns when I’m done with them

  • @n55Rob

You’ve gotta rack the 1911/2011s so you can get an accurate trigger weight pulling the hammer back isn’t a good overview of the trigger weight. You got to rack it so the disconnector can play a factor in the trigger pull by racking the slide. If you don’t you’ll get a lighter trigger pull which isn’t accurate since that’s not how the gun operates under load/live fire.

It looks like the mag release is a factory SIG mag release. Dimensions of the grip in that area are obviously different. I'd have to take my P320 apart to see if there is enough material to remove and still be able to function. Should be able to reverse it like you can on the P320 for left handed shooters. I agree, it needs a lot more stippling and get rid of those ribs on the face of of the grip module.

So what you are saying is....buy the prodigy and mod it for the same price as the oracle arms 2311? Lol.
I'm actually thinking about ordering the OA 2311 compact pro. Now I'm thinking I may wait a while for OA to work out the kinks and/ or aftermarket parts are available.

hahahahah I do that at my 25 yarder :D. like that it comes with all the goodies the poordigy didn't. not to turn this into another prodigy vid but do you plan on changing any springs? I had the lighter main spring added shot for about 3k rounds then light primer strike machine. I currently have an extended firing pin out for delivery today hoping that will fix the issue. I also ordered that ATLAS tool-ess guide rod. mine keeps coming loose and wondering if that can cause accuracy problems. just wondering how the firing pin spring held up and if you got that resolved. they need to sell the main spring / firing pin and "extra power spring" as a kit in my opinion. I think my main spring kind of settled in and may have gotten a little lighter maybe. the trigger reset was adjusted but that only helped out a little so I put it back for now. thanks for the vid!

    • @nobodytraining
      @nobodytraining  10 місяців тому +1

Well those shots definitely would have kept his head down! Lol. How light was the main spring? The 19 I have has been doing great so far. EGW should sell the extra power firing pin with their ignition. It would be a no brainer. As for the 2311 turning into a series, I’m not so sure. I discovered a reason why I need to send it back. Not something I could fix.

Great video. I'm glad they come with optic plates. I wish we could all get together and make two footprints. One for comp optics and a small one for ccw. I see what you're saying about the thumb safeties. And I notice it's got ambi slide lock slide release for the wrong hand people out there. Haven't seen that on a ds 1911. Good looking pistol. How did it shoot?

    • @nobodytraining

Commonality would be great for the plates. The slide release is nice for the lefties. I haven’t really shot wrong handed yet with this pistol. 🤣 The 2311 has potential. I just have to get pasted the stuff that bugs me.

When I saw this pistol I was excited until I realized what it was.... Then I was definitely not interested in it. Stealth arms platypus did a better job of mixing styles. This is a pimped 320 that fails as a 2011. For the price I don't see them succeeding with this pistol.

I don't know I really think you were struggling to bash the Oracle I definitely would review one for them it has a lot of nice options that the staccato don't. I think they knocked it out of the park with this firearm. You might just have to have bigger hands as an adult to shoot this gun and as far as the grip they made it softer at the bottom going to the top for certain reasons if you notice I think you failed to tell that closer to the top it does get more aggressive. This being for the individual concealing inside the waistband. I guess as long as we don't have to tear it apart and put $600 worth of parts in it like the prodigy just to get it to cycle I think we'll be okay The price point is very attractive. Thank you for the video.

What is the point of buying a new gun and cleaning it before the break in period? The only time i feel like you should do anything to a new gun is if its old new stock like its been on a shelf for a year at your local gun store or if its been sitting in a safe for an extendend period of time.

Problem is most people keep comparing newer guns with older guns and don’t ever give them a chance.
I do believe I heard in one of their videos that they left the frame like that for a reason and that reason is so you can have it stippled the way you want it to be stippled.
I’m assuming that includes the mag well if you so desire although I don’t know why.
Why most of you people prefer them older looking guns is weird to me. Yeah at first glance it’s not pretty. It looks like the gun from starfield😂

wow not to neg US manufacturing but what a POS. grip is a deal breaker, not just the slick, texture but that magwell.. and how much hand space there is. you have to, have to have to ride the safety if you shoot 1911or 2011, those safeties look slick too and the angles sharp edges. there is no way this is a $2300 gun. back to the drawing boards.. agile design... whatever. id sell that thing, get 2 Live Free Armory 2011.. or just sell and get a real 2011, Staccato P. sorry man..imo you got hosed by the hype.. fooled by guntubers again, then folk buy these things.. how did nobody say, during production, this is garbage? slide looks like a Sig.. that is not a compliment.. looks cheap. sad face.. was thinking about getting one start of last year but ended up w a Staccato.. better.
