In this episode I'll be working on the single cab OBS. I start by putting the belt on and getting the fuel tank fully mounted. Got the brakes squared away changed the oil and tested the transmission. I must say I'm very surprised by the condition of the new because the old oil was so black/burnt. I believe with a new radiator and water pump it'll be ready for the road. Not planning on putting to much more money into this engine because ill be Ls swapping in once I officially start the build.. Stay tuned more to come!

That step side OBS Is the way to go!! Tuck some deep lip Rims in the back. Easy upgrade the interior with some seats and center console from a late model truck

Put the motor out the bubble in the truck n ls the bubble
Eventually all will be LS swapped. The bubble highway ready now runs nice so no need to bother it until swap time but the truck getting swapped as soon i’m done with Summer Rain!!

You probably can do a engine flush to clean them working parts
You should check and see if all the rockers are tight.
I added marvel mystery oil to my 350 it quiet down some

That's blow by I think it's from stuck valves or bent springs etc
That smoke looks like engine blow-by. Happens when the poison rings are worn. I know you gonna swap it. Just throwing it out there. Looking forward to the build.
Put some marvel mystery oil in the oil and that’s the belt squeaking hopefully head gasket not blown

Milky oil would be a head gasket problem even though you said it was clean just from the white smoke it could be the head gasket

Good job getting the OBS going bro 💯💪🏾🖤....I had the same thing happen to my 350 tbi that smoke is due to blowby in the engine the piston rings are worn so it will need a overhaul but you should be fine to go here and there till you swap it

Those pistons rings could be worn in that engine due to all of that smoke. You should do a compression test on that engine if you're going to keep it.
That much blow by coming out of the valve cover would make me not sink another penny into that motor until you rebuild the bottom end. Or just scrap it

You could get a junkyard 6.0 LS and make 700 or800 hp
Hey brother check your drain holes under the valve covers that's where your oil drain that's what I meant to say had that happen to me once happy new year great view blessing on blessing
That's a common problem on a LS 5.3L. 😉✌
Probably just the valve seals with the smoke, should still run ok just have to keep your eye on the oil add as needed. Runs good for a 300k engine tho! Sounds like a bad bearing in 1 of those pulleys, take the belt off and check for any play in them. I bet that baby will go another 100k no problem. 😉✌
And that radiator from summer rain will work in there. If it doesn't leak throw it in and take a cruise.
Yes sir! Them tbi 350s may not be known for much power, but they are tanks.
That 350 worn out all them miles on there but it might just need to run ain’t no telling when it den ran last and that oil shot but yea probably piston rings and valve seals worn but it might clear up when it run a while

The smoke coming from your valve covers is called OIL SMOKE BLOW BY. That comes from wear on the piston rings because that engine has alot of miles on it. Bro instead of replacing the radiator just buy some radiator STOP LEAK that will hold you over until you do the swap.

Check you compression before you spend a lot of money my 305 smoked the same way was a stuck piston
