Just did my shop. 580 Sq. Ft. Double the base coat needed if you don't want thin spots. And 3 times the clear is needed. That's if you don't want the coating to have splotches everywhere.
I have ben hearing this a lot in a lot of the reviews. I am about to do my 440 sq for garage tomorrow. So I think I’m going to buy another kit. Should I use the 2 kits separately with 2 coats? Or should I use them all at once and go heavy?
hi there, please do not use this product. There is a reason why no reply. I thankfully didn’t use it because after much research I didn’t like the reviews, but my poor sister did it and it bubbled with in 2 months and now after winter it’s all chipped looking horrible. She spent over a $1000 on it:( and It costs more now to sand, remove and that’s back breaking labor work to do! I personally used another product and several months later it still looks perfect even with parking my old SUV all winter with leaks on it! It still looks 💯 perfect. The difference between my sisters who used this product and mine is like night and day. Oh and the best part is that my product cost less and I got way more product than what rustolum offers in their crazy priced little packs that come with their kits. I plan on doing my daughter’s double driveway this spring and I can’t wait. I did grind my concrete and did all the steps 💯 like the pros do it. It was a lot of work for me because I didn’t have the proper fancy tools so it took me 10 hrs to grind with a hand snader and maybe 10 more hours cleaning all the mess. The dust was insane, but honestly worth it. This time I will rent a larger grider that controls the dust and will never use a small grinder again but it was a learning process. I would gladly share a video of my gargle and the product I used if you wish. It is the stuff the pros uses so you have only about 40 min to apply and only 10 min for the top coat but I honestly did it alone and did great. I will never do it alone again tho I will make sure I have 2 helpers to make the job way easier and relaxed. I was stressed and rushed, have to admit. Again, DO NOT USE RUSTOLEUM. You will regret it. Although I like a lot of their products such as spray paints and stains, their epoxy sucks. I have pics of my sisters too to see what happened in 2 months. I am just a little lady too btw 😊
You filled in and sanded the cracks, but at mark [24:47] looks like the cracks showed through the epoxy. Is that correct? I'm getting ready to do this, and I have a few cracks also. So I was concerned about the cracks showing through or possibly cracking the epoxy? Thanks for sharing..
This was not fixing cracks, this was hiding them. I used a 3inch rotary tool to make my cracks bigger, and used Sikaflex 1C SL to fill the cracks. It is a bit more work, but I think it will be more durable.
Question: I’m a first-time home owner and was considering doing this for my sunroom that used to be carpeted; any thoughts or suggestions? I’ve already torn up the carpet and filled the cracks, but there is this yellowish carpet glue still remaining on large portions of the sunroom. Not sure how much of an issue that is
I rolled the base coat and added the flakes. I am letting it dry before I scrape the excess flakes and install the Clear Garage Floor Coating. Do you think I could put a light coat of clear on the spots that need more flakes, throw flakes on those spots, let it sit for five minutes, and then roll a clear coat on top of those flakes?
Great video. I have bookmarked a few of these videos before I start on my floors, but this one has several important details that I realize I need to follow.
Hey, nice video. I am in the process I r doing mine. I grinned my garage floor as it had this shine to it and have the cracks filled grinned to perfectly smooth. Is that the crack patches I see raised lines on the smaller area ? And how is it holding? I took so much time to prep mine including 10 hrs of grind and really want to apply the epoxy properly. I am a little nervous and have been putting it off for few weeks now after preparing it. Like how think to put it? How much flakes to add. I am concerned with roller streaks. I have only 300sq ft garage (1.5 car) I got the 2.5 car kit and 1 single car just to make sure I have got enough and 2 clear. Any tips if you see this would be appreciated 🙏
@@offworkhours I think so too! That made me realize how think the rust oleum epoxy goes on! So I didn’t use it. I used another product that they give you far more product for the buck, i also used full flake and it turned out amazing! I grinder my floor too so the cracks were flat with the rest of the concrete but I had some bumpy sports in front of the garage door as I had planed to leave that since rust oleum is not meant to go outside but when I switched to a different product that has UV protection, I decided to go all the way and didn’t bother grinding that rough sport but nothing shows thru thankfully.
Hey Ben, it looks so good, just one question because it was a very labour intensive are you able to air-spray the floor or is the product too thick to spray
@@MyersWoodshop thank you for getting back to me, I still have to etch and let it dry then paint. I need to wait after Tropical storm elsa passes by I guess

It’s held up grate in my shop! Watch my instagram for updates
So you used 7kits 7 1 car kits or 7 2.5 car kits 😮💨

I would not do this on anything that the sun hits. It fads in uv
How’s it holding up? Reveal it if it failed!!!!
It’s still flawless!

how big is your garage and how many clear coat kits did you use??
Is there some reason that you used a little 1" putty knife instead of a 4" to blend the filler?
Great video. I have bookmarked a few of these videos before I start on my floors, but this one has several important details that I realize I need to follow.
Glad it was helpful!
How many square feet total did you do, and how many kits did it take?

I think those lines are the where he patched the cracks. I saw those too.

if the plastic in not dry what are you suppose to use before you start
Why dont they sell the clear top coat anymore?
They do?
@@kraizy420 not anywhere that I'm looking
@BrayZap idk if my links posted.. but Menards, Home Depot, and Amazon all have it in stock
Where is the video of the shop all done and current
Thanks for taking the time!! My garage is next!!
That looks amazing! I'm about to do mine.
That process looked painful (physically) but man it looks really good. It'll be interesting to see it with all your tools.
It was, but definitely worth it!
I have read that tire pickup is a problem sometimes. Does it seem durable and have you had any adhesion issues?
Just curious, what is the square footage of both sections of your garage? Thanks!
total is 1500 so /2 750 :)
After you sanded the floor, did you use your vacuum to get rid of the dust? Or did you rinse the floor?
I used a shopvac.
Glad you used the antiskid additive. I did not and when it gets wet it is dangerously slippery
Dang, yeah, it would definitely be slippery!
Do you work as an exterminator???
No. Its his hobby.
Лайк!!!
How is it holding up?
Really good in the shop!
Hey Ben, it looks so good, just one question because it was a very labour intensive are you able to air-spray the floor or is the product too thick to spray
It's too thick and the directions say to roll it.
I'm bout to do this too. How is it holding up?
Really good after two months of daily traffic!
