A brilliant hour of entertainment and comedy. Michael Barrymore was such a brilliant and funny comedian and entertainer. Such a shame what happened to him. They don't do television like this anymore.
Wow that was amazing from start to finish, everyone was fabulous the Chippen Dales were brilliant as always. Love Michael Barrymore and his great entertainment he’s so funny to. A pity he’s not on telly anymore. Come back we love your shows Michael xxx
It's odd to think now, but this was a huge, huge show at the time. I'm not getting into the obvious controversy, but he had the country in the palm of his hand at this point. We've not seen the likes since.
With Barrymore and Cilla on ITV, and Noel on BBC1, Saturday nights were a proper battle of the juggernauts, weren't they? And yes, it's best not to get into it - my take was very much that Challenge are quite happily showing Strike it Lucky repeats of a lunchtime, so I didn't see a problem in posting this.

A few years ago I remembered that intro/outro music but I could not recall what TV show it was from & finally sussed that it was from this show. My parents used to make a point of being back in the house most Saturday evenings in the 1990s so they didn't miss this along with a few other shows of the day. I just couldn't take to Michael Barrymore even though I was 10 when this show was primetime & it was years before the controversy that followed involving his personal life.

Watching this has bought back so many good memories of such an amazing entertainer, so wish he was back on TV.
