I talked to a social worker and they said that they've worked with a lot of homeless people and the reason why Vancouver has the highest homeless rate in Canada isn't just because of money, but because although BC does still definitely get cold at times, the entire west coast does typically have warmer weather and less severe winters, making homelessness just that little bit more bearable. That's why homeless people tend to move from other cities to Vancouver because you won't freeze to death as much as other cities in Canada. Toronto maybe have higher homeless rate than Vancouver but it's less noticeable in Toronto because they're more spread out compared to Vancouver where they're all packed in one area. That sports bar is the biggest pain in the ass to those that work there. As it’s a weak point in the security coverage. We brought that up when I was working there. But management didn’t listen. Thank you for helping those street people, Matt. Sneaking in to a Canucks game clearly isn't the simple task that it used to be. At the old Pacific Coliseum, you could easily sneak in by blending in with the crowd that exited the building during an intermission break to smoke cigarettes.
I’ve heard tales of the ‘sneaking in through the Arena smoking section era’ but have only pulled it once at a tiny club in Kingston Ontario Cabada. Was my absolute pleasure for lending a hand. It’s my favorite part of the whole ordeal. Appreciate the support!

I do Uber Eats and I like doing East Vancouver, around main and Hastings area. It's a pretty busy area, and I get the pass through this intersection and this area quite a bit. I like it down there, everyone's actually pretty chill and friendly and interesting. The rest of the city can be a bit uptight and a bit snooty.
Would you believe as time was running out I truly thought I wasn’t going to be able to get in, then the door literally just opened?! I honestly believe there’s higher power at work here, as I had no business pulling this off. Thanks for watching Seth!
@@MattWatsonComedy It was pretty easy as they weren't checking tickets between the concourse level and the store while simultaneously having the street level entrance open.
I’ll say the same thing I said on your Edmonton sneak comment: There’s no ‘you guys’ it’s just me. I’ve got NHL league security on my butt because of these stunts. I’ve even been told by an insider that the Jets security office have my thumbnails pasted all over their walls like I’m FBI’s most wanted. So no they aren’t allowing me.
I moved to Vancouver from Ontario in 1996. I saw a news program the first month I was out here. They were talking to people on the streets in the Main and Hastings area. Apparently many move out here to escape the law. If they are wanted in Ontario no one wants to pay to send them back. So they end up on the streets out here. It's also much warmer in the winter.
Thanks for sharing Mick:) I know that if I were on the streets in Canada, Vancouver with its milder weather in comparison to the rest of the country is exactly where I’d be. Thanks for watching!

I tried the elevator method at today's game. Didn't work out. I did however get lucky and there a was a staff member inside the elevator but she was unable to take me to the 1st floor because I think she had a low level access card. I then tried the stairs but kept running into dead ends. But it was worth a shot at least.

Same thing happend to me!!I was reading all the comments while watching the first half then all the comments made sence once that second half kicked in.Clever ideas deserve a like and subscribe..
I used to have a buddy that was an usher at the old GM Place, before they changed the name to Rogers Arena, and he'd walk me in through the door, telling whoever was there that he was taking me to Human Resources. As soon as we were far enough in, he'd say your in your own. Only once did I have to move out of someone's seat... who waits until the 3rd period to show up? Lol. 😋
They showed only for the third?! That’s insanity! If the seats been free through 2, you should be able to assume it’ll be free for the third. Guess there’s an exception to every rule though.
@@MattWatsonComedyJust watched your vid again... another reason to sneak into the cheap seats, they don't check tickets for the top level. At least not in my experience. Also... I live near ground zero where you walked. It really is depressing. A few months ago it was literally a tent city stretching close to 10 blocks from Hastings and Carrol to a few blocks east of Main. All these people hiding behind massive umbrellas to smoke their pipes. Heck... they even sit in the courtyard of the old Woodward's building where London Drugs and Nester's are, smoking off the foil, then nodding off. There's niw at least 3 security guards at all times. At least Hastings has shooting galleries now, which cuts down on discarded needles everywhere. We need a new psychiatric hospital. They shut down Woodlands in the 90s, then kicked everyone to streets. Many of these people need help, but there's just nowhere to go. Even welfare hotels cost more than welfare gives you for rent. If you can find a vacancy that is.
@@michaelbinbc My sister mentioned the other day that just acknowledging politely when they ask you for something is a win for them. What a horrible standard to have, but that’s where alot of these folks are at.
You're probably aware but I know alot of homeless don't like their video being taken especially while shooting up. Also insane how you were able to get in to the game. Security is tight there

@@superironman 😂 I see what you mean. Watching someone just literally standing up isn’t gonna be the trippiest of experiences.
Thanks for that:)
What a legend you are
Just a guy following his heart:) Thanks for your encouragement! Means a lot:)
Great video. Treating humans with humanity. Next time you’re sneaking into a concert holler at me
Love that! Thanks bud:)
Awesome dude. Thank you for helpin us out
Means a lot that you appreciate it friend:)
It’s an absolute pleasure! Thanks for checking out the video!
@@MattWatsonComedy I work with, and around a lot of the good folks you were passing out socks too. That trail mix also looked so legit. Save me a bag next time please 🙏
@@wettcitty Of course:) So nice to hear that there are others pitching in! Thanks for that:)
Thanks for all that nice work. You deserved that free hockey game 😅
I only stayed until the end of the second, the real reward was giving out the trail mix and socks:) Thanks for watching!
That was hard to watch and very inspiring Mat. Most of those people are a direct result of our provincial government giving up on BCs most in need. Good job sir.👍
Thanks Freddy. Heartbreaking exercise, but eye opening. I truly believe it will bring more awareness resulting in compassion and help.
hahaha i regularly spend 500$ to watch the nucks play and I really don't mind spending it but its good to know that we don't screw around when it comes to security hahaha. besides that there are alot of homeless on east Hastings so this is such a kind and genuine thing and must mean the world to alot of them
Thanks for the support friend:)
Love hearing that about the community:)
Thanks for watching!
that was wonderful
Glad you enjoyed it friend:)
My whole heart is in this project.
this made me cry my eyes out
Still does every time I watch:) Nice to feel though no?
Use the smoking section at Roger's. Hop over the fence when no ones looking. Easy peasy.
Appreciate the tip, but I’ve already found my own way in, and it’s ridiculous!
Video’s released on Wednesday!
Class act. Wasn't expecting the second half. Thought it was just another fake 'sneaking into ____ ' video.
It is neither my friend:) Glad I could give you even more then you bargained for!
You’re a good man ! Even though you snuck into the Canucks game, haha!
😂 Thanks buddy:)
PRADA U MATT KEEP IT UP!!!
Thanks friend:) Will do!
This is beautiful. Subscribed.
Thanks for that Ramzi:) Means a lot!
This is awesome👏
Glad you enjoyed the journey:) Thanks for taking the time to tell me!
Thanks
Thanks for that pal:) Will pay it forward I promise!
Good man.
Thanks friend:)
Cool video, real nice gestures too. Subbed and 👍🏻
Thanks for the support Dave!
Glad you liked the video, put a lot into it:)
oh my god. He does it again!!! You MAD MAN!
Would you believe as time was running out I truly thought I wasn’t going to be able to get in, then the door literally just opened?!
I honestly believe there’s higher power at work here, as I had no business pulling this off. Thanks for watching Seth!
I snuck into the 2019 NHL Entry Draft via the Canucks team store
I have yet to pull off a sneak in through a store, despite it always being my preferred method. How’d you do it?
@@MattWatsonComedy It was pretty easy as they weren't checking tickets between the concourse level and the store while simultaneously having the street level entrance open.
Well played. Thanks for sharing!@@bryan89wr
i love these
Me too buddy:) Thanks for saying so!
me too!! great videos
@@brookeiirene7434 Glad you like them Brooke:) Put my whole heart into em.
Vancouver hero 🙌
Thanks for watching!
Thanks, I bet they now show these videos to their employees in training lol
Ha! I love that. They certainly should!
I know that traffic authority, he is awesome!
Seemed like a real sweet guy to me:)
@@MattWatsonComedy as long as you are not an idiot driving past him or crossing the road lol
@@KevinL-ws4if Sounds reasonable to me.
Would love to see you make a video like this in Victoria too ❤️
We talking like Melbourne?! Or Vancouver island?
I am curious did they allow you in for the UA-cam Video Or did you guys actually get tickets?
I’ll say the same thing I said on your Edmonton sneak comment:
There’s no ‘you guys’ it’s just me.
I’ve got NHL league security on my butt because of these stunts. I’ve even been told by an insider that the Jets security office have my thumbnails pasted all over their walls like I’m FBI’s most wanted.
So no they aren’t allowing me.
PM me next time, i have great knowledge of the building layout, you could also try the staff entrance about an hour or two before puck drop
Love that:) Will do!
Thanks for sharing Mick:)
I know that if I were on the streets in Canada, Vancouver with its milder weather in comparison to the rest of the country is exactly where I’d be.
Thanks for watching!
How do they even get from Ontario to Vancouver if they have no money to fly
@@kelseyjay3733 Slowly but surely.
@@kelseyjay3733 Thanks for playing there missy. Where did I say they FLEW??? crikey the st00 p1d. Time to go back and sit at the kiddies table. Don't forget your bib. Why do people do this? Just disagree for no reason. You must be a joy to be around!!!
"that easy" meanwhile it's absolute luck you made it in my guy
I’m a performer;) They all take a little bit of luck, this one most definitely did.
I tried the elevator method at today's game. Didn't work out. I did however get lucky and there a was a staff member inside the elevator but she was unable to take me to the 1st floor because I think she had a low level access card. I then tried the stairs but kept running into dead ends. But it was worth a shot at least.
Seems you got out without consequence though which I would consider a win, especially considering they’ve definitely seen this video! You got gusto friend!
You gotta see if you can come to the Stephen Leacock theater in Keswick ON..they host comedy shows a few times a year.... I will 💯 sneak in and video it for you it will be epic... great video Matt ❤
I’m so counting on putting on my owns shows where I get to open with “so how many of you snuck in?!” Thanks for watching buddy!
Hey I went to this canucks game! This was my very first game it was awesome!
I can see myself in this video ahah
What?! No way! When?
Too fun! Hope you had a blast!
Ur such a nice guy you earned a sub
Thanks Smitty:) Appreciate the support!
what a brave man
Been a little extra gutsy lately:) Thanks for that!
Matt ''The Sneaking King'' Watson 😅
It’s been looking that way;)
Thanks as always for checking it out!
I live near Vancouver, I'm a big soccer guy and a huge Whitecaps fan. I've always wanted to go to a Canucks game, thanks for this video. It's great what you did for those homeless people, you just gained a new subscriber and I hope to seeing your new videos.
Glad to have you on board:) Glad you liked both the heist and the handouts!
Thanks for the positive feedback!
Came for the 1st half of the video, stayed because the 2nd half
That’s exactly what I’m hoping:) Glad you enjoyed the journey!
Same thing happend to me!!I was reading all the comments while watching the first half then all the comments made sence once that second half kicked in.Clever ideas deserve a like and subscribe..
@@Troyjanwarrior1 It’s about time I had one;) Glad you like the format.
@@MattWatsonComedy Hey even I have one every now and then!
@@Troyjanwarrior1 😂 Glad we both have em… occasionally;)
now teach us now to sneak food into Rogers Arena because I don't want to pay $10 for 7 pieces of fries
Go to the Costco right next door! Hot dogs are still $1.50 and that includes the drink!
Will be releasing a short on this tomorrow!
Love this brother! 👊🏻❤️
Let’s grow the shit out of this channel!
Love every aspect of this creation as well Scott:) Thrilled to have ya on board!
@@michaelbinbc Man it’s an awful situation. So many people needing help. That afternoon handing out the socks and mix really jarred me.
@@MattWatsonComedy yeah, I could hear you saying it was hard. I go to Nester's a few times per week, but choose to walk 2 streets south instead.
Security is tight there
You’re right, but I think capturing the realness of the situation especially in this city, will do much more good than harm in the long run. And you’re darn right that rink was a tricky one! Thanks for your concerns:)
