I keep hearing mixed things about the Bandai Vader as well. Cape isn't that good, tabard's too long, flimsy shoulder pads, slim limbs. I don't own either but it's becoming really hard to make up my mind on which to buy.
Finally opened my copy today and also opened another SHF Kenobi Vader. My MAFEX copy is extremely loose, hard to pose, cape sucks and the neck peg doesn’t fit correctly. Honestly surprised at how bad it is. Opening the SHF Vader kept me sane lmao
@@ActionDisplayChannel Gave it a second chance and after futzing with it I definitely like it a lot more. Still wish it had tighter joints but the sculpt saves it for me. Big fan of the Rogue One Vader design.
One of the wrist pegs on this vader broke the very first time I went to swap hands. I have dozens of Mafexes and have never had this happen until this figure. Hoping plaza japan will send me a new peg or two.
@@ActionDisplayChannel Mafex is always known for having some of the worst QC on the market but I’m so surprised that they had done batman pretty solid 😁
@@WhiteFieldl11l I do have few of their marvel and dc figures and never had a loose joint on any of them. This is the first one. I know about their qc issues. They were a lot worse few years back but recently they are really good. It's a shame that this happened to their Vader.

But technically this Vader is not a new figure imo Because they actually just reproduced those mafex No.45 and then added a swing effect that’s all. It is loose probably due to their older molding and lack of QC on a rerelease figure.
@@cesarmedina7080 The cloak isn't ingraved in his torso like the 1st. The legs pegs stick and when you try to adjust it rubber bands itself back to a weird posture. The only thing I like about the new version is the head cause theyes are updated. So I tried putting the new on the old but they changed the neck pegs. I have the old one on the shelf and new in it's box. Biggest regret I bought last year as a figure. Mine could just be a QC issue. But with the money they ask shouldn't have major issues like that
Mafex Vader looks nice, however having the new SH Figuarts Vader from Kenobi is more than enough, is the best Vader so far.

Yes. His left leg falls of the hip joint. It's a shame because if that was not the case this would be an amazing figure.

Also since it was so loose it made my SHF Boba fall and break its rangefinder so it was definitely a fun experience 😂
