Where should we stay next?
Is that even a question?
EXCALIBUR
Spam likes for next stay! 🗡️
Thank you for this video, I’m actually going tomorrow to stay at New York New York for three nights! Really appreciate the details. I’m going to have to try one of those shakes, and play Frankenstein 😆
Good luck!! Hope you hit a huge jackpot 🎰
New York New York, in my opinion, is very charming for what it is: a perfectly sufficient, well-themed three-star resort.
So seeing that it is a three-star resort, you can pretty much always expect the rooms to be pretty utilitarian and basic much like a Motel 6 room. Prior to the renovation they didn't have any theming at all and kind of killed the vibe for me, but the recent refresh does give the room some vim and vigor. Still: New York New York obviously isn't going for the sort of luxury that other Vegas resorts like Wynn/Encore, Fontainebleau, Venetian/Palazzo, even more mid-tier resorts like MGM Grand and Caesars Palace. It's in the company of other budget-friendly resorts like Luxor, Harrah's, Planet Hollywood, Excalibur, that sort of thing, so you definitely have to go into staying there with an expectation consistent with being a three-star resort.
Honestly the biggest disappointment of New York New York in my opinion are the dining options. I don't disagree with you both that there's plentiful restaurants, quantity really isn't the issue at hand.............but the issue to me is a lack of authentic New York City-inspired dining concepts as well as one or two higher-end dining options. Most of it is just fast food and while fast food surely has its place, I think NYNY would benefit from more diversity as far as authentic NYC dining concepts. Also, their pool is below-average in my opinion, though I can't be too hard on it because, again, NYNY is a three-star resort and so beggars can't be choosers as far as expecting a Encore or Mandalay Bay-esque pool.
That said: on the flip side, I think the casino floor is one of the most engaging and aesthetically-pleasing casino floors on the entire Strip. I always feel like I'm in the heart of the action while sauntering their casino floor, and I just feel comfortable within it. Another big plus about NYNY to me is that it has an eclectic array of little attractions that help set the resort apart from its neighbors including the roller coaster, arcade, Hershey Store and T-Mobile Plaza adjacent to it. Much like the LINQ Promenade elevates both LINQ and the Flamingo by default, these attractions really help elevate New York New York and make it a fun place to visit even if just for an hour.
If I were to rate New York New York, it honestly wouldn't make my personal Top Ten Strip Resorts list. But that's more a reflection of personal preference and saying that isn't intended as a knock against it. I totally get why it's something of a people's champ and why it's regarded highly especially among budget-conscious Vegas visitors, families and people with a particular soft spot for old-school themed Vegas. 🙂
Awesome video, gentlemen. I love the NYNY it’s fun and well themed even though it’s a little cartooony. Congrats on the slot win! Next stay should be at the Aria, the rooms are great with floor to ceiling windows.
Thanks so much! We love Aria!
NYNY is cute, coming from a New Yorker. I used to visit Vegas when the theme hotels were a big deal. They need to brighten it up though the indoor lighting is too dark. The Excalibur eh. Try one of the newer hotels.
We agree, the lighting needs a big improvement. Yeah, we will see about Excalibur, not really on our list but if folks are interested we might visit for one night to film a video.
We are staying at NY NY next month. Nice review. We are NYers, and have walked thru NY NY before. Yes, It's a fair interpretation...but we all know there is only ONE New York, right?
You are 100 percent correct. We love NYC and can’t wait to visit again one day. Have fun and let us know how your stay goes.
Thanks for the review. I'm staying here next month and coincidentally, I booked the Excalibur first, but changed my mind and booked New York, New York. I'm glad I did.
Hope you have an amazing time. We really enjoyed NYNY
It’s not like NYC, nobody is getting randomly attacked and the stores are not looted.
😳
That can happen anywhere friend.
I always enjoyed walking through there and getting a slice :)
It’s underrated for sure!
Granted -- I probably got a scrum room for booking thru a small airline and checking in later in the day. I would probably like booking direct and upgrading the room next time I stay at NYNY. They need to work on their elevators in the Tower I was in during my stay - it was the elevator bank near the pizza place.
See you at the dirty castle.:)
Love that! LoL.
The disappointment in the room was felt haha
😂😂😂 yeah it was aight luckily we didn’t pay for it so there’s that lol
Great video! 2 Thoughts: Try the Wynn/Encore. Why were you NOT using the player's card in the "It's Alive"? Great show!
Yes to Wynn/Encore, hoping to get in there later this summer. We actually forgot the card in our luggage that was checked, lol. Rookie mistake!!! :(
I stayed at Excalibur a couple weeks ago. it's very economical, but the rooms are very basic. the Italian restaurant upstairs was probably the nicest place. staying in a castle reminded me of Disney so I liked that. pool area is nothing fancy, arcade downstairs is cool. I say do it at least once to say you did lol. on another note, I love nine fine Irishman in New York New York.
We might just have to stay there. We want to stay at every hotel in Vegas. We’re running out of hotels. lol.
u guyz didn't try the famous fishinchips from fultons!
I know! We have to go back. There was just so much to do and honestly we got distracted with the casino. lol. 😂
One of my regrets was not riding the roller coaster. But it was cold when we were there in December (says this Michigander) and I just couldn't convince myself. That was, of course, one of the times we walked THROUGH Excalibur and, yes, creepy. Like everything wrong with a casino appealing to children. I mean, I want you to stay there and I'd love to see what the rooms look like... but I'd love it more if it doesn't cost real money. Hahah.
You gotta go back and ride the roller coaster! And we feel the EXACT same about Excalibur lol 😂
@@RandomRecess My husband suggested we could go back in *checks notes* 2031, the next time his football team plays there. So I won't hold my breath. ;)
The pool is THE spot no matter where you go 🏊♀
It’s a must do no matter where we stay!
they built all those resorts on those late check in fees..
😂😂😂
Access to all that Hershey candy is the real win! 🤤
lol we had to exercise some self control 😂
Hershey's store smells so bad!
We didn’t notice a smell when we visited.
I think yall should do circus circus next!
Sir, how dare you.
@@RandomRecess Obviously I am joking I dont want you to die 😂
Love NYNY
It’s a classic!
Literally everyrhing you reviewed was negative. You guys are dorks. 😂
We liked the pasta at Parm and the roller coaster at NYNY, and giving some things average scores does not mean it’s negative. It just means we thought some stuff was just ok. Just being honest with our opinions but go off lol
