What might be even better for your fry setup is to put a 'plastic canvass' partition in the middle of the tank horizontally (try to find five or six hole type), and have the java moss on both sides. The adults wouldn't be able to get through the plastics mesh. It would kind of be like when you had the pond baskets, but a complete barrier for half the tank.
I have a variety of tanks, but I love goldfish. I have two tanks of them. I use anubias, java fern, and java moss. I have seen the goldfish nibble occasionally, but the moss grows so quickly and I have to remove some to keep it in check.
ow can u tell me about ur light setup ? i happen to have a rather low intesity light in my 10 gallon(10 watt for 10 gallon) do u think i can grow moss?
Mine Grows like crazy and have 13 Tanks, it’s Great for Livebearers as well,. On a Side note,. With or Without the mustache. Both looks are Good on you.
I keep all the right conditions and it's impossible to grow java moss in any of my 4 tanks they don't do well. I have strong lighting and dose some fertilizer now and then. All other plants are okayish but java moss and even algae doesn't grow in my tank at all I even had few hours a day direct sunlight on one tank for quite a couple of months and zero algae.
Great Video!!! You mention twice that Java Moss is not necessarily for Pleco tanks, as they will eat it. What if you are okay with them eating it, is it a problem for them in any other way?
Plecos Clean my Java moss, as they Love the algae, not the plant. I imagine I need to put a handful of Java in a bucket outside in indirect sunlight... to grow it for the Infusoria method you showed us.. Might as well put some Daphnia in there, too. With a screen on top, so no mosquitoes or dragonflies.
Amazing plant! I left it on the floor in a clear jug, 9 months ago.. It looks the same as the day I abandoned it. Hardly any light ever hits it, down there. Now, that I don't have algae issues, I can put it in my tanks! 🤔😊 Cheers! 🍻👍
I found some moss in an old tank with no water and was left there for at least a year I’m trying to see if it’s can regrow again do you think it is possible I want to know what you think since you have great advice about this moss
i think it should be okay but make adjustments depending on what fish you have! java moss is great for just about anything, but depending on the fish you can test things out and see how they like it. just make sure u have all the other miscellaneous parameters for them so they can fully thrive :)
Hellooo I recently setted up a 10gal fish tank and it’s planted and I absolutely love it, but the only bad thing is that my hippies are pulling on the short carpet plants and I was wondering if you know why this would happen? Also good info about java moss thinking of getting it! :))
I have the same issue, my mollys are well fed twice everyday and they tore my monte carlo carpet apart :( I was mad and trying to replant whatever I could because MC is expensive 😂
Wish people would stop saying java moss or whatever is good at removing nitrates. First of all people new to the hobby get the wrong idea and start off with bad habits. Secondly, it sucks at nitrate removal, it grows far too slowly. Use hornwort.
Bigest jungle? After 3 years I literaly have BUCKETS!Buckets filled with javamoss, 40 leter buckets filled to the brim.. My aquarium at one point was 70% filled with javamoss, it s a bitch to clean btw, you need to cut it every week...
I just ordered java moss seeds from AliExpress does java moss come in a seed or am I just getting some random seeds and if it does come from a seed do you have any tips on to help it grow

This video was great as I continue to look for great plants to go in my aquarium. Will definitely pick up some of this!
Another great video and the cookie duster moss-tache is growing in nicely 🥸
Bacopa!! I spotted it right away!! It grows in the wild here in Florida, I've collected 3 different species of it including a brackish water Bacopa!!
That’s so sick!
I love lace plants and Java moss !! I keep a make betta long fin with 8 Femails and over 80 guppies cobras and tuxedos

Powerful stash bro! 👍 I love Java moss!
I love the mustache! Bring it back!!!
Java moss is the only live plant I’ve ever kept, and it’s growing great🙂👍🏻

How do you clean java moss to prevent disease when you buy it from a fish store? do you alum dip it or bleach dip it?

There’s a snapchat filter that kind of reminds me of this moustache.
Love your videos.
Can you plant Java moss in caribsea aragonite aquarium sand?
What kind of containers did you have those fry in, with the breeding tank with the jungle of the most Java moss I will ever see lol
Great Video!!! You mention twice that Java Moss is not necessarily for Pleco tanks, as they will eat it. What if you are okay with them eating it, is it a problem for them in any other way?
Once again great video thank you I just bought one.
Mine is dying and some dead. I have dwarf shrimp and a cray. Could I have attached it too thick? That’s the only thing I read that it could be.
Do you ever ship to the states or is it to much trouble
You look soooo cute with the mustache I can barely pay attention to the vídeo hehehe

How fast, will this moss grow ?
What temperature do you have them in?
I will have to try it.
Love the video man. Good on the no shave November gag.
My Java moss and water sprite always dies off. I use liquid fertilizer, light and all. I can only keep S Repens and Anubias alive.
Wow, interesting
any reason u found out?
Where do we find java moss in Qld?
You should get amino to share your thoughts on other plants and fish I joined fish keepers
Of course!
I found some moss in an old tank with no water and was left there for at least a year I’m trying to see if it’s can regrow again do you think it is possible I want to know what you think since you have great advice about this moss
If its green it will grow, nut you will have to seperate the dead parts from the still alive parts
How fast does it grow. I got a stick with it wrapped around it from pet store about 2 wks ago...no noticeable changes
Updates
Anyone know if it's ok just to have just a hunk of java moss in a tank instead of other live plants?
i think it should be okay but make adjustments depending on what fish you have! java moss is great for just about anything, but depending on the fish you can test things out and see how they like it. just make sure u have all the other miscellaneous parameters for them so they can fully thrive :)
If only you could grow your mustache as full as your java moss
Hi, I recently got java moss for my 10 gallon having 5 gold fish. Please let me know if any suggestions ☺️
You should get a bigger tank, 10 gallons isn't enough for one goldfish to thrive in.
bruh

They might be hungry
Even though I gave them food they would rather go for the plants.
I have the same issue, my mollys are well fed twice everyday and they tore my monte carlo carpet apart :(

do you shell and ship java moss??
Wish people would stop saying java moss or whatever is good at removing nitrates. First of all people new to the hobby get the wrong idea and start off with bad habits. Secondly, it sucks at nitrate removal, it grows far too slowly. Use hornwort.
Totally agree horn wort grows fast un like Java moss
watching this while i am working with javamos
Do you think java moss will go well with betta? Can it be used during betta breeding?
yes
Love you’re channel bro just not the mustache 🤣
What the f happened to his eyebrows?
The mustache is pretty bad. Shave it off. Try again in a few years.
It’s off at the end of November
ReinhardvonHolst leave his eyebrows alone they look fine!
KeepingFishSimple no shave November! I get it now! Keep up the stache man 👌🏼
How do you grow it in mass for selling
Sellers grow them emerse i guess
moss loves lights too =)
Oh yea!!!
@@KeepingFishSimple more pls =)
Hi handsome just got some java moss yesterday an i love it i have them in my guppy fry tank they look so awesome thank u
Absolutely love java moss. It practically raises fry by itself.
Can i have java moss and a filter in the same tank?
Yes
Java Moss seem to mean instant hair algae in my tanks.
Get some algae eaters mmmmmmmmmmmmmyeah
Trying to get rid of it because it grows too well and makes maintenance a hassle. Great otherwise
Yea I love it but

@@KeepingFishSimple well when I get the seeds I'll see what I get but I have a feeling it's just random plant seeds glad it was under $1
