- A large male Iberian Lynx (Lynx pardinus) walking by in dehesa landscape in Spain. Said to be "the rarest cat in the world" around the turn of the century, with less than 100 individuals in the wild surviving. In the following years the Iberian Lynx made a spectacular comeback, with almost 1700 animals in the wild in 2023. If you know where to look these animals are not that hard to find, although encounters are usually short.

Beautiful, Mysterious and Elusive Iberian Lynx
What a beautiful cat.
Indeed it is!
The bird just stands there fearlessly and the cat is also not interested in grabbing it.
The main food of Iberian Lynx is rabbits. They do not often feed on birds, perhaps they don’t like the feathers when eating.
