      Divide the group in thirds - make an administrative decision to use 5 (one third of population - upper , 5 lower)

      You would use twenty students when doing the analysis as you take the top third (10 students) and the bottom third (10 students) when doing the calculations. Always divide the population into thirds after you have placed them in ranked order.
