Excellent review! I love my 1944 Izzy M44, and I've had it for about 3 1/2 years, and I've fired well over 1000 rounds through it. It's by far my favorite gun! 5 stars!
Great vid. I got me a M91/30 about half a year ago and the vid still taught me some things I didn't know about the rifle. Great work.
Loved your videos. Went to watch one before work, ended up watching 3. I've been wanting to get my C&R - but there is sooo much to learn about all the different rifles and handguns it makes my head spin!
Thanks Iraqvet. I have a 1942 Izzy and your reviews and detailed videos have been a big help in keeping it up.
Really appreciate the loading & how to stack the stripper clip! Valuable information!
i could listen to you talk about guns all day, very good review kept me interested well done
I sure want the M38 but still looking at this time. Thanks for these series of videos so we all can learn from those that know. Thanks for sharing and posting.
You hav the most serious Mosin Nagant review ive seen so far through out you tube.
I bought myself an "Issie" make Mosin at our local gunshow this past weekend. Now I'm gonna watch your cosmoline removal video.
Pick up my M44 carbine next week - can't wait.Kinda tempted to build it up to a scout rifle but for a while I'll have fun with it as is.Just stumbled onto your channel - thanks doing this review,I've learnt heaps.
Great vids, good information. I just ordered a Mosin Nagat and have been watching as many videos as I can. Can't wait to get it.
I picked up a hex receiver 1932 Izzy 91/30 that looks to be an Ex-dragoon rifle for 115 at a gun show. I never understood how the safety worked until your Pt.2 video, but that is the first and the LAST time I will use the safety as it is not easy to take it off safe. Thanks for the Video's.
Awesome piece of history that you can use. I just refinished my stock, what a cool rifle. Can't wait to get out & shoot it. The finish model makes me a little jealous.
love the vids man very informitive, noting wrong with stretching em out. going to subscribe.
Well, just subscribed. I've got four Mosins now (and counting) and I'm really enjoying your videos.
Thanks for the video! Just ordered my first Nagant.
Great info! I want to get a Mosin Nagant in the near future. I've did some looking and am amazed how cheap they are considering they don't make 'em like that anymore!
i went to a gun smith i know personally and bought a brand new 91/30 beautiful condition all matching numbers snipers variant with a PE scope for 600. well worth it. Best sniper rifle in my world war 2 collection.
Good video ,
just picked one up and hoping to get to the range soon.
Thanks
Man, that is sick how you strip-loaded that M38. Man, you are fast bro! Good job :D.
Great set of videos!
I just got a 1942 dated Izhevsk last Friday. I shot it the Saturday after but not enough to form an opinion one way or the other.
At least now, thanks to you, I'll be able to correctly use the stripper clips!
5 stars.
Just added a Mosin to my collection today!
Love your videos, keep em coming. Great work.
Great tip about the stripper clip loading, never knew that. Thanks.
The stock on your M39 looks superb. Mine unfortunately has a few gouges from being stacked in an arsenal somewhere, but does have a nice clear Sako cartouche. It's a 1942 build on an 1896 tang dated receiver.
Is your M39 a Sako? VKT?
I watched this video about a week ago and it persuaded me to go get one. I got a 91/30 made in 1939 for 100 bucks. I don't know if that was a good price or just average but i love this gun. I am definitely going to get more.
What do you sugest to stop the corrosiveness of the surplus ammo? I've heard of using soapy water, windex and today at the gun shop I heard kerosene or BBQ lighter fluid works the best? How much time do you have to clean the gun after shooting it?
Great review, very indepth. Was there any other diffirences between the M44 and the 91/38 other than the folding bayo?
Another great informative video. As said in other comments, length is fine. If we didn't enjoy hearing everything about a rifle we could, we wouldn't be watching youtube videos about them. I have never owned a mil surp rifle, and am looking for what I want to be my first buy. I am leaning towards this Nagants a great deal. What do y'all think?
Thanks for the tip on the stripper clips. It really helped.
Thanks. I havent shot any of it yet. What is the best that you can find though? (btw, I have an M91/30)
@Iraqveteran8888 Hi good sir lol, I happen to have a question for you for these Mosin nagants, I dont knw your experience as a hunter but would you recommend these for hunting game?
I will say this would be my first High powerd rifle since i'm 17, but would you recommend it? Or should I save up and buy a brush gun thats much more modern that might do me better?
Thanks for your time:D
nice review, you didn't talk to long at all. I would love a long video about the history of the mosin!
Where did you get your clips at? I have a m44.
JG sales and AIM Surplus, 79.99 and 89.99 + $10 hand select. AIM surplus has 1c shipping, but don't know if they extend that courtesy to firearms, or just ammo, J&G shipping is about $14-19 depending on where you live.
Well, the two Mosins I own, I've never had any problems with loading them by the clips and cycling the bolt without 'stacking' the rounds an jamming from that, just as long as the interrupter works you should be fine.
thanks for the nice series of moisin nagant vide!
2 part or not, anyone who wants to know the in's and out's of their moison nagant will love this knowlege. keep up the good work. Oh, quick question. how much do you know about the canadian ross m-10 mk III?
I enjoyed this very much mate. I loved the fast stripper clip bit!!
Did you refinish the wood on that fin? It looks beautiful!
Do you know anything about the Bulgarian ammo? I have like 100 rounds, plus 4 strippers, and I was wondering if thats good ammo.
any one close to Lula Ga can transfer a7.62x54r for me? also who might help refinish one?
Don
@Iraqveteran8888 was that refinishing done by your friend chad, as shown in the great refinishing video? I'm think about doing that to my 91/30
great vid. I just picked up a mozin nagant m44 izhevsk model and I want to take it caribou hunting. Think it can handle shots at 300 m?
Does it matter which one you get if you plan just to shoot one and keep it?
love those dovetails in the stock
umm at 2:36 did you just fast forward that or did you just do it really fast?
I just bought one at the gun show for $100 including kit. Testing her out in the morning.
Very informative, keep'em coming.
I'm getting one of these soon, just ordered one today
man dude u were freakin quick with that 2nd rifle loading nive vids man
Would this be a good choice for a first rifle?
This helped a ton with the stripper clip loading, I was completely doing it wrong.
Excellent vid. What would be a reasonable pricing on a M-44? Best
if you buy surplus ammo from the internet does it go to your door step or do you have to pick it up
Great intro series to the Mosin-Nagant. Just got one recently and this series was very interesting and helpful. Thanks!
Great vid man.
that rifle is in perfect condition where did you get it and what year is it
...are these rifles really less than $100? Thats very exciting for me because id love to own one of these. I found a website thats selling one for $79.99 and my jaw dropped. It makes me worry though. Is this really a typical price for a fully functinal and good condition Mosin Nagant?
Most online gun shops have them, and they are common at gun shows....last time I checked you could even get a 5 pack from Amazon for
does the suplus ammo that comes in the spam cans come with stripper clips on them normally? im going to order some Bulgarian light ball.... 440rds to a can
Nice vid. Very informative. I am about to head out the door to shoot mine. I will try your clip load technique.
thank you for the review man. i may not agree with america's politics but i sure as hell respect you for risking your life.
saw a mosin at the local gun store running over 1500. no idea how it got this expensive BUT the guy said it was a rare finish m/27rv. never heard of this model. any ideas?
@coozy100 it was one of the first rifles the Finn made for their Civil Guard (like our National Guard) , I believe it went m91, M27, m28, m39 but most of them go for $125-$400 max
Great video!
Would you say its the best ww2 bolt action rifle ?
@iraqveteran8888 hey i bought 2 izzy dragoon era 91/30s from classic arms, it was only 10 bucks more than the normal hex ad they say its rarer, is it any better? thanks
@iraqveteran8888 I just picked up a really nice 91/30, and its got no pitting, a really smooth action and an excellent bore, the only thing that is slightly dinged up is the stock, but i was wondering where i could find some stripper clips so i can go out to the range and have some fun. Btw i love the videos, they are very informative.
great video brother
Hey would you show us how to properly load using a stripper clip again? lol Dude I feel for ya because I have never seen the bullets spit back out of the gun like that.. I have a 1926
man i need to grab one of these, still debating if getting the c&r is worth it or is it just easier to ship to ffl. main reason is both are the same price but on the other hand i wont use the c&r that much...gunshop in town is such a rip off. charging 250 for a chinese mauser that you can tell was rusted to heck and someone removed the rust. i wish i would have never sold my sks judging by the prices now. i paid 150$ for still in cosmo and made her a beauty!
can you do a accuracy video on the accuracy on a m44, or any other mosin?
damn you can reaload that shit fast man good job
Hey, where did you get the stripper clips?
ill check into that.. thanks!
just picked upa mosin nagant how can i tell witch one i have looks like they chaged the stock and sights it is stamped with a star and says 1937
1:10 I ralely ever concern myself with the way I stack the cases in the clips because the get jammed randomly anyway and a good operating interuptor will usually reduce that from happening.
Beautiful Rifles.
You actualy showed me the proper reloading of the Mosin Nagant better than the guy that did the video that was focused solely on that.
man im about to buy one of these now. i was at cabelas the other day and they had about 20-30 russian rifles for $150
As you can see, I got an M39 if you saw the video.
Has your stock been refinished? I've been considering rubbing mine with a BLO cut with beeswax for a nice luster, but it would ruin the collectors value. Hmm... decisions decisions.
@iraqveteran8888 hey i bought 2 izzy dragoon era 91/30s from classic arms, it was only 10 bucks more than the normal hex ad they say its rarer, is it any better, thanks
how much did you purchase the mn for plz
thank you
nice videos... great info on mosins...
It worked well Buddy! But it takes a bit of practice. Just put a vid up of it being fired.
is there a way to repair a pitted bore?
Great videos................thanks!
I am 40 miles north east of atlanta Ga.
Don
2:30 very impressive
Thats a beautiful M39. What is the tang date and barrel date and arsenals? Got lots of info with great examples of arsenals on my channel too. Its a little more in depth with the arsenal stamps and markings.
Are you from north Carolina? My uncle was raised there and his accent sounds exactly like yours. Sorry weird question but great review and thankyou for serving our country (your UA-cam name is Iraq veteran)
Dude were do you get all this?
how uncommon are hex receiver 91/30 mosin nagants?
alright, Thanks
me too... these last 8 days have felt like a month
When loaing the stripper clips do you have to act really fast? Or can you take your time?
i got a finn amazing barrel brand new looks 400 rounds of spammo and a ak47 bayonet i like the ak47 bayonet for 350all matching its very great sweet trigger to.
@Iraqveteran8888 Hey did you buy your Mosins at a store or online, if in a store did they give you the things like the bayonet and stuff
