    Travis I switched from channel locks to a stainless "water key" style dehooker. Keeps your hands out of the way (ask Tim). Makes it so much easier especially with those sandbars!

    • @BeachSharkFishing
      @BeachSharkFishing  2 роки тому +1

      Dude I started with dehookers for years, moved to an arch dehooker then to channel locks. I carry a dehooker with me also. If the hook is anywhere other then the jaw, generally your going to need the dehooker or your going to need to cut the leader. Plus it takes time to get comfortable with the channel locks, 5 years for me. Being on top of a shark is second nature to me now. I like to have control of the fish and be in and out with minimal help from anyone. I can generally get the job done quickest with channels, solo. But there are also many times where I could/have use help from my team to knock it out (release process) even faster. I think if I lived in somewhere like Florida I'd depend on my team a lot more because of bigger fish on the steady, but the littles sometimes are a one man show.

    Maybe a dumb question. But how can you tell which way the current is running before you get out in it? Sometimes I'll cast out a small line and watch it or I'll kayak out straight and see which way I drift. Is there an easier way by looking at the water?
    Thanks for another awesome video! 👌

    • @BeachSharkFishing
      @BeachSharkFishing  2 роки тому +1

      All those things will work but usually you can tell visually and then even more so when you start to kayak. So we eyeball it and are right 99% of the time, but on the first line (we always run into the current) for some reason we are wrong it's typically an easy correction to do in the kayak on the first line. Appreciate the compliments Cody 🤙

    Are there still bigger sharks around this time of year there? Whats temps

    • @BeachSharkFishing
      @BeachSharkFishing  2 роки тому

      Unfortunately not but with fishing there is always that rare chance of hooking into a monster. The efforts we put out here to catch littles is off the chains. I'm jealous of your fishery and FL. But it's allmost time for FL once again.
