I LOVE Helio Sequence. Just saw them last night. I type this comment from my bed as I nurse my hangover. Totally worth it. Thank you for a great Show! And thank you Subpop.
Silence on Silence is so lush and relaxed, I feel instantly transported to some beach somewhere. And December is so ethereal and intimate. Downward Spiral is my personal theme song when driving around San Francisco... Eh, I'll spare the poetic waxing and just say I'm enamored.
Discovered these from watching a video showcasing this album on kexpradio here on UA-cam. One of my favourite bands. Weikel's drumming is fantastic, his year at Modest Mouse was fantastic. Very few people with a voice like Summers' too.
What I love is that these bands and record labels stream their full albums online, complete with wonderful video, rather than removing other people's attempts to try and share their music like some mainstream artists. You go subpoprecords. Four for you.
I hear Simon and Garfunkel as well as Roy Orbison and I dig both and yes they are original and unique , but it's a great sound that works great for peaceful times like this as I've been a fan for years. Playing this on a quiet rainy day , very mellow. I love all they're songs , but of the negotiations album , downward spiral and hall of mirrors are my favorite tracks. You can find anything like this anywhere on earth. Then had those two tracks burning like the sun.
First timer, liked the video. Been a while since I listened to sub pop, glad I did. Duo member in bands are the best...team work. @21:00 and feeling at ease as prepare for bed.... nice...
I had no idea The Helio Sequence would ever bring out an album this good. I liked Keep Your Eyes Ahead but this one is so much better. Open letter is amazing!
Great album. Video is a perfect compliment. Subpop: "Hey guys we're going to do a music video". Band: "cool, what song?" S: "Oh, eh, well, the whole album actually" B: "What?? Who's the choreographer?" S: "Well, really, it's just going to be out of focus shots of you guys walking around parks and next to the river and stuff". B: "Ok. Sounds good."
This album is brilliant and when it"s played along with its companion disc titled Aces it becomes even more so. The Helio Sequence's Negotiations or “That time Sub Pop (almost) went Quadraphonic”
Wow. This is great! The guitar reminds me of Interpol cerca Turn on the Bright Lights. Simply awesome. I wish I hadn't discovered this at 5:30 in the morning though... oh well. Worth it.
Cool video guys. Was neat to see the gear and you stomping a lil home town locales. I remember catching ya guys at Berbatis maybe in 96? Great to see you both at at it.
i love this album, and i have a funny story. i got it in a digital form from a friend, and the tracks were sorted alphabetically, and i listened to it like that since then; you can imagine my surprise when a different song started this time.
de ellos sólo había escuchado antes "harmonica song", en un compilado subpopero que regaló rockdelux en 2004. oír NEGOTIATIONS acá es la mejor oportunidad para profundizar más en ellos.
i saw you at i spy in seattle. you rocked then you are even more amazing now. i saw you at bumbershoot like 99 in the stands seeing modest mouse you were modest as heck
Great music gentlemen... Love your sound. ... need a great guitarist for session work? Just up the road in Seattle??? HNY... ignore what I said . My son is great and in a band, but I hear his thoughts about the art_ In your playing. Crazy huh! Best wishes to you both_ lookin' out and observing your artistry. Fantastic sound scape. Lyrically and musically.
PleaseJustLetMeBeAnonymousGoogle Wait, wait, wait..... I just went a back a bit... was this really filmed from a suspended cable car type of thing? My mind can't handle all these twists.
Hey Marv - you couldn't do a li'l research to test out your theory before clickety clacking the post button? I mean google'll show a red squigly line...i think...don't quote me on that, though.
Nice sound ! If you like Indie music and underground artist, I suggest you to discover a new artist by writing *"Niko Laetailleurs"* in the you tube search bar. Not very famous but really awesome !
Had a bad day, champ? Want to talk about it? No, but seriously, it used to say "Negotations" but they changed the title a day after I posted the comment. Simple.
+Bianca Ruiz I really like My morning, but the only resemblance Jim James has to anyone is Kermit the Frog. Brandon has a bit more of a rock voice I think.
I have been listening to Helio for about a decade. What made me gravitate to this music is that Brandon sounded like John Lennon, a lot more in the early years. Still, both Brandon and Benjaman are absolutely fantastic musicians.
I think I have watched this 100 times. I love you, The Helio Sequence.

My 11 month old daughter gets super stoked when I play this. I do too. Thanks for putting the full album out, guys. See you in Pensacola.

When this album was released, it was the first concert I had ever been to. What a sweet memory :)
What I love is that these bands and record labels stream their full albums online, complete with wonderful video, rather than removing other people's attempts to try and share their music like some mainstream artists. You go subpoprecords. Four for you.
Hail to SubPop for streaming entire albums on UA-cam. And great ones for that!

Man, the drums sound so sweet.
I love the feel of this band. Their music is so chill and amazing!

Its like this bands drummer has a voice. His style is in his own.
Such a beautiful piece of work. Their music is beautiful.
I love this. more bands should do this for their albums.
So much great music is being released this year! Thanks, Helio and Sub Pop!
Just lovely on every count.
Absolutely stunning.
I need this album...Now!
Very nice. Love the filming too.
This album is brilliant and when it"s played along with its companion disc titled Aces it becomes even more so. The Helio Sequence's Negotiations or “That time Sub Pop (almost) went Quadraphonic”
God I love these guys. 19:17 is the best video for the song.
Thanks man, I'm sure everyone appreciates it!
Wow. This is great! The guitar reminds me of Interpol cerca Turn on the Bright Lights. Simply awesome. I wish I hadn't discovered this at 5:30 in the morning though... oh well. Worth it.
Saw these guys open for The Church in Austin recently. They put on an excellent show.
Good one, mrPfreeland that is the correct track listing!
Very excited about the album and the tour coming up. Most awesome.
Your guys' music hits the spot.
I've had 22:52 - 27:13 on repeat for 4 hours. Open Letter is a fantastic song.
Awesome, very well put together. Unique instrumentation layered in too. :D
Cool video guys. Was neat to see the gear and you stomping a lil home town locales. I remember catching ya guys at Berbatis maybe in 96? Great to see you both at at it.

That's what I'm saying! Very reminiscent of The Walkmen. But still the good Helio Sequence feel.
Great Video and music
seeing them tonight!!!
de ellos sólo había escuchado antes "harmonica song", en un compilado subpopero que regaló rockdelux en 2004. oír NEGOTIATIONS acá es la mejor oportunidad para profundizar más en ellos.
that would be an awesome tour
i love you as i did from note one in 99
so good!! love it!
The new album is menomenal. This video is equally as awesome.
Thanks Sub Pop for uploading this. Helios Sequence just replaced Modest Mouse as my favorite band.. which is quite a feat.
Check out the old Tape Echo at 2:15 - Anyone know the make and model? Don't think it's the Roland Space Echo.
i saw you at i spy in seattle. you rocked then you are even more amazing now. i saw you at bumbershoot like 99 in the stands seeing modest mouse you were modest as heck
There's something so beautifully poignant about Open Letter at 22:52 - possibly my best track on first listen.

Yep, Sub Pop is such a great label.
Ugh!! This is driving me insane. I'm definitely buying their album to keep me sane.
Love it
Oooh. Love!

At around 30:00 mins in, for just a moment I forgot that drones exist. I was so confused.
PleaseJustLetMeBeAnonymousGoogle Wait, wait, wait..... I just went a back a bit... was this really filmed from a suspended cable car type of thing? My mind can't handle all these twists.
anyone have a clue what camera this was shot with?
Hey Marv - you couldn't do a li'l research to test out your theory before clickety clacking the post button? I mean google'll show a red squigly line...i think...don't quote me on that, though.
Can definitely hear the The Walkmen influence
i really wish i knew the type of camera he used to film this video!
Nice sound ! If you like Indie music and underground artist, I suggest you to discover a new artist by writing *"Niko Laetailleurs"* in the you tube search bar. Not very famous but really awesome !
This whole album, make me creamate...
That looks like a Fulltone Tube Tape Echo.
❤
Soundscape...
Reminds me of Walkmen quite a bit.
Pretty sure they misspelled "Negotiations" as the album name. Don't quote me on that, though.
Benji come play some roofball this summer!
Had a bad day, champ? Want to talk about it? No, but seriously, it used to say "Negotations" but they changed the title a day after I posted the comment. Simple.
Did anyone notice the Frank Sinatra record in the background? It's a great album ☺️
I scrolled up as soon as I read this and there it was. Haha. I should listen to more Sinatra.
The soundtrack of South Beaverton.
i'm looking up your old shit
Gnarly.
of course...i will take my trollishous snarkisms back and ask you to excuse me. Please. And thank you.
grey's anatomy m'a conduit ici!
GREAT Album. Please Helio Sequnce, go back to your Electronic Roots!!!!! Dont evolve, Improve on your original sound.
That comment is so contradictory
Sometimes they remind me of a more refined Walkmen. Less raw vocals.
does anybody think his voice sounds kinda like the guy from my morning jacket? it sounds familiar but I just can't put my finger on it
Bianca Ruiz Sorta reminds me of the singer for Gold Fields.
Yeah it kinda resembles MMJ a bit.
+Bianca Ruiz - I thought it sounded a bit like Beach House.
