I tested this with an ASTRO A50 - on both settings: Routing through PC via Line in and via the direct aux in on the base station.
So this works with the Wave XLR too but i got to a point where i now how my mic coming across my headset even though it is toggled off.... so im not sure how to fix that, i know its probably a setting or something
You can do this without an aux cable. Route audio out chat mix and listen to that instead. This method didnt work for me due to my laptops input type for whatever reason, found this workaround which is an improvement
Thanks for this guide. Will the GLI not lower the volume a bit? And if I want to use the mic on a wireless headset. Is it just to connect the mic jack on the GOXLR to the line out port on my pc? Should there be another GLI for that aswell?
FYI, I tried this solution. It did work... partially. You can definitely ear yourself, however there will be a latency. The only way (I think) to avoid this latency would be to have a wireless monitor directly plug into your goXLR (or whatever your Audio Interface or Mixer) Note: I have Razer Blackshark V2 headset ("ultra low latency" by default). Tested this setup with the M-Track Solo.
This video is not only helpful it can actually be used to show the loss in sound quality when doing this. I use the part around 24 sec where he says "not, nooot" as I find it highlights where the sound becomes scratchy as compared to how it was before. Keep in mind this is before the Ground Loop Isolator is added to the mix but I am not sure if that is meant to remove background static only or if it is also meant to make sounds that his voice makes at that point not scratch as if I was using a cheap headset that could not handle the frequency of his voice.
