I have at least one black racer that lives mostly in my back yard. Every time I have come upon him unexpectedly, he has been very feisty. He does not want to be friends at all! And he doesn’t try to avoid conflict by racing away, either- he stands his ground! Dang little bugger! 😂. ✌🏼❤️

Quick tip regarding your contacts. You’re probably experiencing issues removing them at the end of the day because your eyes are dry. I found that it helps a lot to use eye wetting drops (Refresh Contacts) when getting used to wearing them or through out the day if your eyes are feeling tired or dry. Thanks for the videos.

Those black racers are a lot of fun to catch. The bigger they are, the faster they go & the harder they are to grab. Those bigger ones can be pretty snappy too.
This one time I caught a little one with my kids around & then let it bite me while I was holding it up to show them. I started hollering real loud... man they FREAKED OUT 🤣
I know, it's a cruel joke but it was hilarious.

Luke, I really enjoy your equipment reviews, your expedition videos, and Lunch & Chats. My family and I reside just outside of Chicago, IL after having relocated from Salisbury, N.C. (about 2 hours from Asheville, N.C.) in 1995. Your videos genuinely make me feel like I "have returned home." Your personal approach is always positive; you come across as being very professional and equally confident. Your equipment reviews come across as being very authentic and genuine: you always point out the benefits and weaknesses and even acknowledge when you occasionally realize over time that had initially misjudged an item. Such self-awareness and "self-regulation" exponentially bolster your personal credibility! Congratulations on your success...it is well-deserved and the result of hard work. Here's wishing you much continued success now and well into the future!

I have heard clients rave about tonal for the last couple years now! Everyone that gets one loves it, because it adjusts so easy too for multiple family members to use. Also they come set it up at your home to ensure it's securely anchored to the wall bolted into the studs. They cost a few thousand, about the same as the fancy exercise bikes out there. Great video Luke! I love rain popping on the tarp and tent....ahhh!

The tarp as a canopy is a very good idea. Have used one for years. The first was a canopy set that came with four poles, lanyards, Stakes. Was before those pop up canopies ever existed.
I camp all the time and I always have a canopy. Tarp canopy is easy and folds down, it's a tarp... so it efficient of space in your vehicle going camping .
I bought four collapsible 7ft poles , if needed four poles because no trees, usually there are trees in the woods lol, just ridge line or using chord to tie off tarp to trees to make a canopy. Anyway, under a well tied down tarp, camping in a rain storm is not that bad.
Like you said...it is relaxing, peaceful, satisfying to experience nature when you are dry. All normal camping activities can go on like it's a sunny day, if you're covered from the rain.

A lot going down in this video. Congrats to Lucas hope all goes well with next step in his life. Have been thinking of getting one of the One Tigris tarps. Looks like a good piece of gear. I’ve also seen racers that have been up to 8ft long here in VA! I’ve also switched to contacts this year and love them. Putting them in and taking them out was tough at first but I got the hang of it but I still need a mirror to do it. I haven’t camped yet with them cause of trying to keep my hands super clean with them. Learning curve. Sorry for rambling! Great video as usual.

I really appreciate the effort you put into cinematography - it's not apparent. Without a crew, all those pass by shots, approach shots, and the wide "setting up" shots all require messing with camera gear and often retracing your steps. I don't think - even being a photographer, that I'd have the dedication to put that much effort into it. Well done.

Ah, a Black Racer. We had them all the time in Oteen, just below the Blue Ridge Pkwy, outside Asheville. While walking back to the house, the racer on the property was about 12 ft.
She had laid eggs in a large saw dust pile (which autonomously generates it's own heat from decay) keeping the eggs nice and warm. In northern Rockies now. Moose everywhere !!

open range is a great movie with 2 of my favorite actors. Robert Duvall has been a long time favorite too with so many good movies, Second hand Lions, Lonesome Dove, The Godfather, Broken Trail, etc

You have a good clean show you work hard to do what you do for just a couple days of videos plus then your work's not done I know you have more when you get home for editing and all that you are appreciated you're fun to watch keep up your good sense of humor and don't use foul language you don't have to I love your stories keep up the great work because you're better to watch than a lot of other programs that's on UA-cam. Oh and yes open range was an excellent movie I bought the DVD years ago when that movie first came out I still have it I still watch it. Thanks again from the old guy

After seeing what I seen in the woods. I am afraid to say, not big foot. Now I am so afraid of going camping. Or even walking in the woods. I loved camping, I was so afraid. I thought I was going to die. I have nightmares till this day. It's been 3 years. That thing stood at least 7 to 8 foot. You never want to run into that kind of animal, ever. I enjoy watching you. I DO MISS IT.

I love these impromptu adventures...so relaxing and it comes across so well from you. As you enjoy a cup of coffee so do we; or depending on our time of the day we may imbibe on an adult beverage. The tarp tent set up has been a favorite camping set up of mine since my military days as I suffer from claustrophobia and often end up sleeping under the tarp. On super wet days I will set up the tent directly under the tarp and leave doors, windows and vents open. Thanks for these relaxing campouts. Congratulations to Lucas! Best of luck at college.
