Great video. It gave me the confidence to do the job myself. Miele wanted €289 to get someone out so very satisfying to do buy the part for €25 and do iit myself. I did have a problem getting the fan off. It was really stiff. Had to turn the torx bit with a vice grip while a colleague held it in place. Also be sure that the carbon brushes are touching the drum . In my case the brushes has retracted up and i just had to push them down.
Thanks. Just spent an hour trying to open this monster, similar one. You did me a huge favor man! I see unscrewing the fan was easy for you. Mine seems stuck and screw won't move with my drill. Have to use some wd40 over nigh probably. It is quite a complex. I usually tend to fix my own stuff but this one is definitely something new. Even more. I guess it is a first time I need to touch miele product. Usually it just works. Have it for only 3 years so i guess the belt was shit from the factory. Looked still new and broke on the place where it was vulcanized into circle I guess.
Great job, usualy I prefer to remove the side panels too. it's easy: just unscrew the 4 torx T20 above and pull the panel up 1 inch to unhook it from the front. thanks and greetings from Italy
hey man thanks for the video... i was wondering, since this model isnt that old, why do you think this needed replacement so soon? Doesn't miele say their machines SHOULD last for like 20 years or whatever? Thanks!
Thank you very much for your video! I have replaced the belt, but when installing blower wheel, the screws can only be screwed in halfway. Screws cannot be installed in place do you know how to do it? Do you need to add some wd40 to clean it up?
If the panel does not sit properly screw will not work its way . It’s actually the final area it can go but because panel is not in front of it you feel it’s halfway in in reality that’s the only way for screw to sit in position do not force it in . Play around with panel
@@hameedwafaAFG one thing I struggle with is the rear part is still holding the drum. It has to go forced up from the grease barrel? Almost there haha. Still waiting for the belt to be delivered
I tried to do this on the larger model, and I just couldn’t figure it out 😂. Unfortunately the pulley assembly itself broke with it so it gave me even more trouble.
You can do it from the front but you still have to take one of the side panes off . That’s more complicated for new techs, new home owners and DIY projects . To answer your question no I have not but it’s possible 😁
Mate, this video is great. saved at least $1,900.00 buying a new machine. The belt in Australia cost $85.00

@@KevinJames1933 you are right but unfortunately they are not making them the way they used to 🥺I prefer Huebsch or Asko over Miele these days.

Great video! Thank you!

Great video man thanks!
Are you using some kind of air bag system to manoeuvre the machine around ?
Yes it’s called airseld
Looks a fantastic piece of equipment and I sincerely appreciate your reply thank you..

Hello one question. Where is thé spring fixed on thé chassis side? See 4.35 in your video. I cannot see a fixing hole for thé other side of thé spring
Just saw it . You need to remove the drum to see it with a flash light 💡✌️
I have mine apart now and cannot see where would go everything seems to be plastic and not strong enough to hold the spring.
What is the red pump thing at the end?
Airsled
Remind me again why I won’t service Miele?
