Glad u explain vikrant aircraft carrier in non boredom ot 12 minute, i appreciate u for that... Btw u missed one point DRDO has installed a stealth technology or the project Shakti System inside ins vikrant to make it less cross-section on enemy radar...
Anyone who understands microwave tech knows stealth doesn't work for large objects and that too traveling at such low speeds. Also, SONAR will easily detect it. Plus, aircraft carriers never travel alone. It's always part of a fleet of 10-20 smaller attack ships. So even if stealth really works for large sea objects, there's no point to it since the whole fleet cannot escape radar and sonar. Just because the government says something, it doesn't automatically become true. Critical thinkers can see propaganda a mile away.
@@flowzeta5412 I appreciate your points but we got this information from drdo Twitter reports bro... Plus drdo even makes unimaginable stuff to take over CCP agression towards india like they developed SMART (torpedo missile) , xrsam (2x powerful and greater range than s400 and himars) , world's deadliest lch ,etc etc... So that's why i said it
Can someone in the chat please explain why Aircraft Carriers don't combine ski jump with catapult or EMALS? as from my understanding the ski jump allows more lift due to angle, down side being limitations with MTOW on takeoff. But using EMALS you could have a shorter launch on a ski jump? correct. I'm sure I am completely wrong in my assumptions as it would have been done if it was so beneficial. But would love to know why it wouldn't work. Thank you Horizon for such an amazing video, I am constantly impressed with India's development and how quickly they establish home grown manufacturing for highly complex systems.
By the way, interesting idea. I admit that it is simply too difficult to implement and the benefits will be modest. In addition, takeoff weight restrictions will remain, heavier aircraft cannot be launched
EMALS and Steam catapults are always better than ski-jumps as you want to maximise your MTOW for longer sorties & weapon loads, it also allows heavier aircraft to be launched such as AWACS which increase the carriers capability by orders of magnitude. Skijumps are used A: because the country uses them lacks the technology for EMALS (it's still fairly early-ish tech for China and USA) B: the ship class Vikrant originates from was a Russian "Aircraft carrying cruiser" with a heavy Anti Ship missile compliment that took up a a lot of space C: it's a hell of a lot cheaper.
I guess when aircraft reaches the ski jump with that much force of catapult the landing gear may get damaged, I'm not an expert so take it with a pinch of salt
Its really impossible to have a catapult going up a curve and would be difficult for the aircraft to detatch from the rail if it stopped just short of the ramp. It would also place an ENORMOUS amount of stress on the gear to be flung by a catapult and then squashed as it goes up a curved surface. Hope this answers your question.
Thanks ruski friend, thanks. You didn't used that traditional Indian song which I don't know but why it has been imposed on us by these some western youtube military analyst jokers, even Millennium 7 channel used that, totally killed the mood. Yours seems like, yes, you devoted time and passion.
6:30 not Israeli missiles, Barak 8 were developed from ground up, according to the necessary needs for both Israeli and Indian navies. It is a joint venture between IAI and DRDO.
Any idea if india will be making our own ciws soon? I guess we are still using the Russian ones , not that anything is wrong with them . But would be great if india has its own on the way.
Its has to be understood that india is a democracy and it has a large water region to cover with the growing threat from Chinese Navy. Hence india needs to be having atleast 3 carriers in the ocean to counter any threats that harms freedom of navigation and rules based international order in the indian ocean. Also the fact that these are not shared by countries like US , France ,UK or even Russians to india. This caused much delay for india to develop their own indigenous carrier and battle group but now as they have delivered one class carrier they need to keep making more and bigger and nastier ships. Go India 🇮🇳 ❤

From what i know, Indian navy is about to order another 45000 tone AC again and the company said they can build it in 6 years this time, and after that they are planing to order the 65000 tons
Thank you for the new post. As a subscriber, I look forward to new posts on all of your channels. Are there truly F18s in the Indian military?
They're not, but the model was one of the contenders for INS Vikrant's naval aircraft.
The contract is going to the Rafale - M most probably. And the follow on carriers will receive indigenous fighters.
No and india will never aqure it as us don't allow indian missiles or avionics there
Mid 2023 should reveal which airframe will be the stop gap naval fighter for the carrier. But they will be replaced by the new naval fighter that is in development within the next decade.

It may not be the most powerful but we are proud of the fact that it was made in our country and now we have the technology to make aircraft carriers. Similarly, a country can develop well by not being dependent on others but by developing them on its own. Making things and learning. We may not get success in the beginning but if we do it again and again we will definitely get it. We are proud that our country is moving towards self-reliant India day by day.❤️🇮🇳

India's Strategy for buying weapons: everything that works is fair game no matter who makes it
Glad u explain vikrant aircraft carrier in non boredom ot 12 minute, i appreciate u for that...

Ski jump is cheaper... catapult system is expensive to build and maintain and does require a lot of power....
With the kind of enemies we have in our vicinity, India needs many more Aircraft carriers like Vikrant urgently.
She is not even ther first Indian Vikrant, but she is without a doubt the first Indian Indian Vikrant

Do you have the slightest idea how not-little "little" expertise is?
Its has to be understood that india is a democracy and it has a large water region to cover with the growing threat from Chinese Navy.
Hence india needs to be having atleast 3 carriers in the ocean to counter any threats that harms freedom of navigation and rules based international order in the indian ocean.
Also the fact that these are not shared by countries like US , France ,UK or even Russians to india.
This caused much delay for india to develop their own indigenous carrier and battle group but now as they have delivered one class carrier they need to keep making more and bigger and nastier ships.

China is building an air craft carrier at a rate of one in 5 years but indians taking 20 years.
China takes 5 years to copy a russian design. India takes 20 years to design and build a carrier from scratch
@@vijaymoudgalya9915 so who is smart? It doesn’t matter whether china build a copy or not.
What is matter is to have the weapons as quick as possible to confront and push back the enemy.
@@Red.bulldozer3 Chinese carriers aren't defensive weapons. Carriers in general are offensive weapons. Chinese carriers suffer in that role as well. All their russian clones rarely if ever leave port for reasons one can only imagine (*cough cough*copying a russian design that is famously unreliable*cough cough*) and the one carrier that they did design and build on their own took them 20 years as well. Even then, while it looks good on paper, the fujian can't even recover it's planes without ripping it's own flight deck off, if it ever gets the arrestor wires in the first place.
@@vijaymoudgalya9915 the indians have been operating aircraft carriers from 1960s but till now have only 2.
But the chinese bought the empty hull of a abandoned aircraft carrier from ukraine in early 2000 and refiiited with new engines and weapons systems.
Since it is their first air craft carrier, it took 20 years to build. But now they have mastered the art of building an aircraft carrier and now operating 2 aircraft carriers.
Another 2 more under construction and will inducted in 1-2 years. By 2030, china may be operating 6 aircraft carriers in total compared to only 2 in india. 🤣
@@Red.bulldozer3 since you brought up difference in experience with carriers, it is only fair to take into account difference in resources. China can afford to throw money at shitty designs. India can't.
