Do you need to upgrade any engine parts for the Revo Stage 1? My concern is it wrecking the engine over time. Viezu remap will be 295bhp but Revo claim up to 334bhp but double the price. I had a Stage 1 Viezu remap on my old Mk2.
A stage 1 tune is literally for a stock car with no upgrades, so it should be fine. If you're concerned about anything it should be heat as this is what kills most cars. Think about getting an upgraded intake of some sort and if you really want to be safe, get a better intercooler (then all you'd need is a sportscat exhaust and you can jump straight to stage 2 👌🏾
You sure can, the gains you get with diesel are even bigger than petrol most of the time! And you'll get a noticeable difference in economy on the motorways I've been told
I'm looking at a TT/TTS and after this remap I am strongly favouring the cost saving of a TT with a remap. Can I ask how it impacted insurance? I'm sure it will be different for everyone but what kind of % change? great vids mate new sub here!
Yeah going for a TT with a remap is a bit of a no brainer if it's gonna save you a decent chunk of money. As for insurance, I honestly couldn't even guess, but from what I've been told, it doesn't make a huge difference to your policy
Top video mate, love the TT content. Currently looking at getting a Mk3 TT but can’t decide between Quattro or just get the 2.0. Obviously the Quattro is amazing but realistically the cars fast enough for me without it. Will I regret not paying abit more to get Quattro? Cheers
Glad you liked the video 👊🏾 To be honest, the quattro won't make the car noticeably quicker, but it is most definitely a safer choice, both literally and financially as they hold their value better than the FWD. I'm sure whichever option you go with, you'll be a happy man!
If you haven’t already bought the car, get the Quattro. AWD is not only safer because of the traction, more practical if you live somewhere that is snows, but like previously stated they hold their value better. If you don’t care about any of that, get a VW Golf FWD, they’re much cheaper than a TT and built on the same platform with the same engine and drivetrain
I'm not expert but the TTS is pretty much a remapped TT with stiffer suspension and different alloys. Based on that I'd say that providing you're not hammering the car every single day then it should be fine 👌🏾
@@JamesCF10 According to Audi - from their TT press launch - The MK3 TTS appears to have differences over the 2.0 TFSI Under the TTS section it states: "Modified aluminium pistons and higher-strength connecting rods with different bearings. The crankcase has been reinforced at the main bearing seats and the main bearing cover. The cylinder head is made of a lightweight aluminium-silica alloy with high strength and temperature resistance. The valve springs and seat rings have been modified for high loads". Further reading shows that the TTS has the CJXG version of the Ea888 Motor, all of the above differences plus different piston cooling jets, different injectors and even a different radiator. So not really just a re-mapped 2.0 TFSI! Still has one cylinder too few for me though :)
Hi I'm thinking of getting an audi TT tfsi and was wondering if remapping voids your insurance, and does it use more fuel with remap with the extra horsepower ?
It doesn't void your insurance but normally insurance companies will increase your premium slightly, as for fuel/HP etc, have a look at this video > ua-cam.com/video/TLFT5MhoEvY/v-deo.html
@@JamesCF10 yeah just saw all your videos on the TT brilliant ! So would you just let your insurance know you've had it remapped and pay the extra money basically ?
@@owenavfc49 Good stuff 👌🏾👌🏾 Insurance companies will use any reason not to payout, however, if you have a crash that has literally no bearing on whether the car is remapped or not - it doesn't really make sense to pay extra for it. It's personal preference at the end of the day 👊🏾
@@JamesCF10 so you get it remapped and you don't need to tell insurance nothing ? Plus if you have a crash with it being remapped it won't void insurance its just up to you whether you get your car remapped or not?
I have the same, TT Quattro S-Line in metallic black remapped to 300bhp but a 2015 rather than 2016. Soooo much fun. It does feel like a new car after the remap. Only problem is the worry of losing my license haha. You boot it and next thing you know your doing 90mph in a 60mph limit.
Excellent choice of car haha! You're right, the power is just on the verge of being unusable on the road without causing unnecessary attention or losing your license 😂 all worth it for the smiles though!
Thanks very much, I paid around £270 for it, would’ve been slightly more if the dyno was installed...the dyno video will be up in about a month so stay tuned!
100% still reliable - I've not had any issues. Around town, still getting just under 30MPG. It's just nice to know you've got a lot more power to use if you need it.
@@JamesCF10 what sort of average mpg do u get: driving briskly down back roads - not racing, just having fun cruising at 70 how many miles have u done since remap Have u tried similar mods on a Scirocco? thx D
Great video! Quick question, i have a Tt mk3 2.0 tfsi manual and just front wheel drive. Do you think that a remap would be just as good because it's only a front wheel drive? Maybe too much power!
I have the same car 2015 mk3 manual/FWD with a stage one. It is a lot of fun, but getting the power down from launch can be problematic especially in the wet as with all FWDs. I would suggest going for it, but make sure if you do you have really good tyres. Mine came with a set of brand new Churchills (i had never even heard of them - turns out Chinese crap) and they were awful for grip and spin. Less than a week later with Michelin PS5's on its a different beast. I ended up going with a performance specialist for insurance (Adrian Flux here in UK), as despite many comments here, insurance companies generally will not even insure a mapped car or charge an astronomical amount. For example, my i30n had Eibach pro kit, OZ racing wheels, Remus cat back, Carbon fiber spoiler and a Pipercross box filter. My insurance company (Admiral) only bumped my premium by £40 a year for all of this (£390 total), however it was not like for like. So if i totalled that car I would lose £thousands on mods that would not be replaced. Same company wanted over £1450 for the TT and that was just because of the full induction system... i didnt even mention the remap! Adrian Flux insured me fully comp with like for like for around £700. So many people do not tell insurance about mods. It is literally like driving with no insurance.
@Karl Juice It is certainly fast standard. The main thing I've noticed with the remap is that it pulls harder in each gear due to the torque increase :)
The pure, innocent, wholesome surprise and giddy enjoyment makes this video worth watching. Glad to see someone enjoying their car, good on ya man.
😂😂 love this comment!
