The OG gang is back!!! I love avast and all the other guest but these are the guys that really got me into the league
y255 Minecraft owner here! This project with Shock was one of my favorites we have worked on to date, we have a strong background in Overwatch and Minecraft, so it was awesome to work on something that straddles those communities.
Bren AND Sideshow??? Now that's a nice way to start Overwatch 2!

This is my favorite episode of platchat ever. Reminiscing about what brought all of us together. Bringing back bren and sideshow to send off overwatch 1 is fantastic. after 4 years of doomium and gloomium about overwatch and owl its crazy and it makes me so happy to hear how much we are all hopeful for overwatch 2. i'm currently playing ow2 and its surreal. thank you platchat for the years of friendship, see you in the next era

I hope they do. Personally, I'm not keen on having them back on OW2 Plat Chat after they unceremoniously bailed on OW a year ago. If they wanna transition back to OW, maybe, but I don't think we should just remove Custa, Avast, and Jaws bc OW2 came back and Bren and Sideshow feel entitled to come back. We all know they aren't gonna be back next week, they're just kicking off people who actually care about the game and should be on the show breaking the news.. I find it kind of disgraceful honestly

He begrudgingly said how OWL did something bad to him without actually saying cuz i assum he doesnt want to create drama about it - im assuming they kicked him without notice/left him out, so id be the same and go somewhere else.
let's go, Bren and Sideshow make the videos so lively, even if Reinfor does a great job as producer and host

3 Years for the development of a PVE game is not long. Most game Studios need 5 years (on average) to develop a single player PVE game. Multiplayer Games (depending on the size) can take a longer. I don't know how people can make statements like this without any knowledge about how game development works.

I joined this game in 2019 as my first fps because my brother said I might enjoy it. I fell in love with the characters and the gameplay and I've managed to keep enjoying it through its worst period. I'm really hopeful for the new era to come

1:45:51 im like matt where I came from CoD into OW in 2016. Where my main game used to be cod and now it's overwatch. I remember seeing an article like maybe 5 titles ago (i dont exactly remember which cod title it was) where they were talking about the % of ppl who buy cod for the story vs multiplayer. And it was something like 70% of the ppl who bought the cod didn't even touch multiplayer. So there is def quite a big fanbase of more casual players that just either enjoy story single player games more and/or enjoy PvE type stuff than PvP
Sideshow talking about how I wouldn't want him back but honestly I'd love to see him and Bren's blind/honest reactions as non-followers. Good new perspective

What ive played so far, in 3days i got about 15 tiers done in the battlepass with 2-3hrs per day played, so assuming you have 2 weeks time to get to tier 55… thats a piece of piss

Tank synergie to me was only a thing in master to gm (at least it was the only time I experienced it) when you where playing with a mate for years.
So, I felt a huge difference playing with this person compared to even playing with "better" tanks.
But it was only a thing for like 0,1 percent of the playerbase.
So I am very happy for Solo Tank; no more hogs fucking over a team comp.

So it took a new game coming out to finally bring back the original crew
I think it's more if they r busy with Valorant since that's the game they cast now
I hate on the "it's not a sequel bashers" as much as anyone, but Overwatch is not an annual release like FIFA or CoD. That's a pretty silly comparison to make. It was 6 years between full-releases, and 2+ years of no real content updates for OW1.

Im gonna comment this again, also dont know if you guys will bring it up during this episode but ill update this comment if you do. But I disagree with what you guys said a few episodes ago when u guys were discussing the release of ow2 bringing in new fans for owl and for the game. I hope im wrong but i dont think that'll happen.
1. The game's been out since like May of this year already? The pros have been playing on it for months now. The viewership was pretty high during the first day/week or so. But now it's about at the same level if not maybe even lower than last season.
2. Along with owl, we've had 2 betas already for the game. Ppl know what it is already, with only 1 new hero to join the game
3. The biggest draw for the game for newer/the casual fanbase is the PvE... which isn't releasing until 2023 sometime. If you aren't already a big fan of ow/owl i don't really see this boosting viewership/attracting newer fans to the game. Since i think a lot of ppl will just look at ow2 and be like so it's just an update? It's OW 1.5, not really a true sequel.
Like i said i hope im wrong cuz i love both the game and the esports scene. But i think there is pretty big concerns that we in the more esports/competitive community are overlooking bcuz we enjoy the PvP aspects of the game

I can’t believe people are excited about two new heroes. When they announced a sequel I would’ve expected 6 new heroes. The community has just been so starved they’ll get excited for the bits
Well technically 3. But yes. I thought it would at least be 5. Cuz i remember blizzard saying they had like 5-6 or something in the pipeline. But yes.. starved for like the last 3 years for anything new other than rehashed pve "events" and deathmatch maps. It's unfortunate, but hopefully having it be a live service game will keep new content rolling every few months or so
