I thought that I was the only one that looks up reviews while shopping for EVERYTHING! I also check different places for pricing, sales, coupons, etc. And yes, sometimes right in the isles. I absolutely LOVE your hair. It looks so healthy & your curls are the 💣! My hair started curling several years ago, (several stylists believe that it's due to the chemo that I take for Lupus & Rheumatoid Arthritis) but I always kept it very short. Christmas 2015, I decided to grow it out & now I'm faced with stuff that I've never experienced before. Your routine video helped out A LOT! Thank You so much! 😚
OMG "products that give definition are too heavey"! that is exactly what I think about products all the time! Thank you for this channel, I can never find information on curly and fine hair.
Sorry if someone else already commented on this, but I've recently been very happy with the shea moisture weightless line. The packaging looks really similar to the 10 in 1 line, but it does not weigh down your hair at all and the line gives great volume. Maybe you have tried it already, but wanted to pass that along.
Dana! thank you so much for being an honest youtuber! You are one of the ones I can actually trust, so many people are trying to sell me stuff.I was really wondering about the bb curl products and I felt the same way about not your mothers product. They dry out my hair so much!
The only thing from bumble and bumble curl line I really enjoyed that she didn't mention was anti humidity gel, but i pair that with the curl control however my hair isnt as fine as hers. Loving the video though!
Your curl tips are so helpful! (And your hair is BEAUTIFUL) I have very curly hair too that I am still trying to figure out and see what styling tips are best for me, but I use a line called Moroccanoil and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE it-smells amazing and works really well
Ha ha...yes, I google products while In the aisle too!! I even UA-cam in the store too lol. I just tried that same shea moisture mask. I find all shea moisture masks to be too heavy for my hair. What do u recommend for a deep conditioner that is for finer wavy/curly hair? Have u found one u like yet? You n your curls are gorgeous!
hahah thats great! 😂 There has been one shea moisture mask I like but I do find many of them to be heavy as well. I've been using the renpure coconut creme deep treatment masque lately and I've been liking that :) I actually want to try the rest of that line as well!
Yes, finally someone with my hair type ! I'm a hair junkie, like I keep buying products for my curls, and usually they are just to thick & heavy for my hair. Shea Moisture & Cantu are just not for me. Great video ❤❤ New Subbie ! 😊
Hey, been subscribed to your channel for a while now. Especially when I started transitioning it was so nice to see someone with similar curls to mine. Could you talk a little about your hair type - like whether you are high or low porosity and have thin or thick hair. Thanks!
What curl type do you have? Maybe you can do a video all about your curly hair like porosity, density, hair type.... (unless you already have one where you mention this information)
I just watched several of your videos on product reviews and you were not sure if you were protein sensitive or not...I am 2B, 2C, 3A low porosity, fine texture and protein sensitive. Everything you described about the products that you had trouble with I have the same issues, especially the masks and conditioners that really made it difficult to get through your hair while in the shower and left your hair feeling dry etc. Those products have protein in them. Protein sensitive hair tends to not do well with products that have a lot of coconut oil in them. Also if your hair is low porosity Shea Butter isn’t really your friend. It will not absorb well into your hair. I have spent countless hours researching what works for my hair without weighing it down, doesn’t leave it a tangled mess in the shower, etc. Hope this helps you.
Sara Millhouse I have the low porosity hair as well. (Just learned this) and am trying to find a curly line of products that will work for my hair. I tried some of the Deva curl products and noticed my hair got straw like( but my curls were well defined with great volume.) But it feels like I have a plasticky feel to them. What works for you?
angel Glandon I have yet to find a deep Conditioner but I have come up with a winning combination of products that keep my hair hydrated and frizz free. By the way, Deva Curl products are heavy in Glycerin usually #2 or 3 on the ingredients...my hair doesn't like glycerin heavy products makes it limp and lifeless. It can tolerate it when it's farther down the ingredients list. I wash with either Jessicurl Gentle Lather or Kinky Curly Come Clean. Conditioner is Curl Junkie Beauticurls Strengthing Conditioner (has some protein in it Keritan Amino Acids, when are easier for low porosity hair to absorb) I leave it in while I do my shower routine, rinse out most of it, add about a quarter size amount back into my ends, and add a nickle size amount of Kinky Curly Knot Today to the middle section of my hair in the back that is super dry and frizzy. Leave my hair dripping wet as this helps with retaining the moisture in your hair. I add in Curl Junkie Pattern Pusha Gel (total of 4-5 pumps for my shoulder length hair) I squish and scrunch it in, then leave my hair to air dry. Zero frizz great curl definition, no crunch. The gel is glycerin free. Hope this helps! 😊
Sara Millhouse Thank you for the suggestions and fast reply! I haven't heard of a few of those products. I will have to do some online searching. Have you ever tried any of the Shea moisture products? I was going to try those next because if I buy them at Sally's beauty and my hair doesn't like them I can return them and I'm not out the money. I am afraid I wasted 80 bucks on my Deva curl purchase.😤 Curly hair can get pricey!
angel Glandon I hear ya on the DevaCurl waste of $$ I had really researched what products my hair could tolerate in their line...and there are just a few, my hair hates coconut oil in any form or fashion, so my options get narrowed down quickly! Kinky Curly Products you can buy through Amazon,Target, I think Walmart too, and on line from their website. I don't think Sally's carries them. The Curl Junkie products you can get thru Amazon too but I ordered them directly from their website and took a real risk because no returns as well. I really researched the products before I took the plunge and was pleasantly surprised at how well they worked. Of course they are really pricey 😏. Shea Moisture products you need to be careful about with low porosity hair because of all the coconut oil and of course Shea Butter used, coconut oil is especially hard for low porosity to absorb. It will just sit on top of your hair. They make a great no protein low porosity shampoo and conditioner, and a leave in, that would definitely be worth trying and won't break the bank!!
I actually like the Bumble and Bumble curl line when I used it 😅 granted, that was a few years ago before ai went cruelty free, so they may have changed the formula or something
BB and Aveda never worked for me. I have noticed that Shea Moisture is a bit too heavy for my hair. I have 3a/3b fine curls and I have noticed the lighter the product the better. Some products have too much moisture so I end up having either greasy looking curls or weighed down girls with not volume.
Nina Blackwell . I have fine thin curly hair as well . Do you follow the curly girl method? Have you found any products that you like. Looking for suggestions.
I do not follow the curly girl method. Its way too much product for my hair. I actually, follow Dana's routine of applying products in the shower. Currently, I really like Shea Moisture's Yucca & Plantain Anti-Breakage Straightening Styling Milk and this is going to sound crazy but, it actually works on my hair and gives it some hold but I love Tresemme's mousse. I have noticed crazy awesome results with Alba Botanica Hawaiian Deep Conditioning Minute Mask in Cocoa Butter. So, in the shower after I shampoo and condition I deep condition and then I part my hair in fours and coat my hair with the styling milk and sometimes I just use the milk but, if I want more hold I'll scrunch the mousse in my hair. When out of the shower I scrunch my hair with a t-shirt and diffuse and I love how soft and bouncy my hair is...and its not that frizzy either! Hope that helps you!
When you were transitioning did you get trims often? Your hair still looks so long! I am currently trying to grow out damage. Some of my bangs look like spaghetti noodles - 😐 I've been trimming them, but I was curious if you have any other advice?! Xo
Yes, there is a lot of journey videos out there. You start by telling us your journey and then pop out with gorgeous hair. But what happens in between? I keep looking for how to manage the in between to be a horrid journey. Tips would be amazing to find!
Hi!! your hair looks so beautiful :) ... Have you tried the "Maui moisture curl smoothie"? My hair type is between 3a/3b and some curl cremes makes my curls flat and heavy :(
I’ve had terrible luck with expensive curly hair lines. I’m over spending a fortune when the products mostly suck. Aveda’s Curly hair line smells gross & doesn’t work for me at all.
Ahhhh that Shea Moisture masque has been sitting in my shower for a couple of months while I try to talk myself into trying it one more time. Think I'll just chuck it since I know it's not just me haha
haha I know I hate that feeling! I was like that with coconut oil (for my hair) for the longest time. So many people love it as a mask and I just could not get it to work. Oh well! lol
I thought that I was the only one that looks up reviews while shopping for EVERYTHING! I also check different places for pricing, sales, coupons, etc. And yes, sometimes right in the isles.

haha I love it! I can relate, I'm not trying to waste my money 😂 Thank you so much!! I'm so glad I could help
J B probably your body is changing and you're having a texture change
OMG "products that give definition are too heavey"! that is exactly what I think about products all the time! Thank you for this channel, I can never find information on curly and fine hair.
This is great. You are soo 100% brutally honest even with products that you didn't pay for. I appreciate the transparency.
Sorry if someone else already commented on this, but I've recently been very happy with the shea moisture weightless line. your hair and makeup are absolutely gorgeous 😍
thank you so much, Emily! xox
What products did you use on your hair in this video? ... it looks extra amazing here!
Dana! thank you so much for being an honest youtuber! You are one of the ones I can actually trust, so many people are trying to sell me stuff.I was really wondering about the bb curl products and I felt the same way about not your mothers product. They dry out my hair so much!
Hey random person scrolling through the comments, your beautiful and have a great day ❤️
love these comments
I love your make-up in this video! And I also love that you try and stick with products that are cruelty-free.
Oh my goodness, your curly hair is sooo pretty!! Love your channel!
Thank you, Hannah!! xox
The only thing from bumble and bumble curl line I really enjoyed that she didn't mention was anti humidity gel, but i pair that with the curl control however my hair isnt as fine as hers. Loving the video though!
SheaMoisture products are heavy in shea butter which works well in thicker hair and small amounts. Weights down finer hair.
Your curl tips are so helpful! (And your hair is BEAUTIFUL) I have very curly hair too that I am still trying to figure out and see what styling tips are best for me, but I use a line called Moroccanoil and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE it-smells amazing and works really well

Courtney H ha ha. we are dedicated to our products, money n time! Lol
Thank u for sharing the one deep treatment you like. I have never tried the renpure one, but have seen their line in target.
Yes, finally someone with my hair type ! I'm a hair junkie, like I keep buying products for my curls, and usually they are just to thick & heavy for my hair. Shea Moisture & Cantu are just not for me. Great video ❤❤ New Subbie ! 😊
woo hair junkies unite! Shea moisture is very hit or miss for me. Thank you for subscribing
oh my hair is really similar to yours! except i have this random underlayer of straight hair, but i do bantu knots there to get uniform curls
Hey, been subscribed to your channel for a while now. Especially when I started transitioning it was so nice to see someone with similar curls to mine. Could you talk a little about your hair type - like whether you are high or low porosity and have thin or thick hair. Thanks!
you should do a video with all your current favorite hair products!
Such a great video. Thank you! It helps to ween out products that are not helpful for curly haired like us.
Have you tried the Cantú line?
Your hair & your makeup wow your stunning ❤️❤️❤️
What curl type do you have? Maybe you can do a video all about your curly hair like porosity, density, hair type.... (unless you already have one where you mention this information)
You are reading my mind, I do plan on doing a video all about these topics very soon! :)
I really like the b&b curl creme and have a very similar curl pattern to you, just shows each to their own 🤷🏽♀️

Sooo glad to see this review! I have been on the fence about the bb products, yay!! Thank you :) Devacurl it is!
Your hair is gorgeous 😍 How long did it take to grow your hair??
