I have the ftdx10 and love it. Usually when I’m just scrolling through or POTA hunting I run no attenuation and pre amp 1. Dnr is set to 1 with the noise blanker engaged. After I find a station that I want to rag chew or make a contact with I will usually adjust everything from to get the best sound quality. Most of the time with those strong signals it sounds like they are sitting right next to me. The weaker ones I have to play around with. Great video…. Thanks
Oh my word I love it! The New update helped a lot with the DNR function. In my book it’s the best mid level rig on the market. Until you step up to the FTDX 101 it’s the best. Thanks for watching.
I love it. My end goal is to one day have a Yaesu 101M/P for the extra watts, dual VFO and the extra filters. But bang for my buck I couldn’t be happier. Thanks for watching.
Depending on your noise levels you may not want a full 10db and 4db is the answer. It's the same as a backing off a variable RF gain control for particular signal strength vs noise. I use that setting for 90% of the time. It's better for me for weak signal work on my FTDX 3000 than 10db or 20 db increases.
@@Sedona-cl6eg A bit like fiddling while Rome burns ? I much prefer to use to RF gain to lift the noise floor. Sadly on my ic7300 the RF gain is a joke , a sick joke at that .
PS you have a great radio in the ft 3000 much better than my ic7300 where your RF control works great , i know this as i had one . Unfortunately the ergonomics is a bit jumbled up . But undoubtedly a more controllable receiver.
@@forgetyourlife I have FTDX-10 (2 years). I have been using a mouse and was excited to hear Update 202308 had mouse scroll wheel support. I installed it a earlier and have tried two separate mice (both with scroll wheels) and neither have any effect. I've snorkeled around the setups and I don't see any mouse settings. What am I missing?

It is my first "SHACK" radio and I love it. One day I hope to upgrade to the 101MP. I am super happy with the FTDX 10
Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the good review.
My pleasure! I love doing them.
Great video. Didnt hear you say weather or not you still like the rig....mine juwt came in yesterday. Haven't had tome to set it up or turn it on.

Great video as always…where you been bro?
Same place. Just trying to clean the world and play radios when I can.
Does anyone know do FTdx10 has buttons illumination like FT-991a?
What buttons are you referring to? And no. They do not light up. Just confirmed.
I never heard you say whether or not you still like the radio.

I love my FT-DX10. Is it the best radio? No. But it's better than I deserve!
I love mine too. One day I’ll upgrade to the 101 MP. But until there I am so happy with it. Thanks for watching!
Where is the difference between yaesu ftdx 10 and yaesu ft 991a
The dx-10 is only HF and 6 meters. Some of the filters are at the fingertips with knobs and such. There is better filtering on the dx-10 too.
@@Blackabeard Thank you.
Great video! de W2CSI
Glad you enjoyed it
ATT 6db , preamp1? So you attenuated 6db and amplified 10db ?
Yes and yes. Some days I just keep pushing buttons until it sounds better. HIHI. thanks for watching.

@@Sedona-cl6eg thanks for the advice! This is my first radio with filters so it’s taking some time to get in the swing of it. Thanks for watching!

what is the main difference between old and new firmware?
I’ll be honest I haven’t done the update yet. But from what I have read the TX level in the waterfall is not adjustable.
The mouse wheel scrolls the VFO now I’ve heard.
DNR performs much better, without the submarine sound
I think it works better for sure. not sold on it yet though. What algorithm number are you using most? @@scanflight
