If this was the same zatanna from the anime movie when she almost killed John Constantine by him stepping in front of Zatanna magical sword. She would pretty much beat anyone on this show. But yeah Zatanna on here isn't adult yet.

They did Zatanna and rocket dirty this season.. Zatanna could’ve wiped the floor with multiple enemies this season she’s overpowered in the comics in my opinion
Personally, this season utilized Zatanna a bit more compared to season 3 but for some reason she's less offensive and more defensive compared to earlier seasons. it's upsetting because she's really powerful and is on par with Scarlet Witch

Why everyone is complaining? This show has demonstrated time and again that the characters are NOT these Uber powerful gods like they are in the comics. They have 26 episode stories to write and need high stakes and entertainment. That doesn’t happen if the heroes/villains are wiping the floor with each other all of the time. Also it’s clear that the Zatanna of Season 1 has gotten far more powerful as the show has progressed.
I mean You can argue she is more creative, active and willing to use offensive spells in Season 1 to 3 rather than in Season 4. We can see she use a more blazing cauldron fire, duplicate shadow spells, using her mystic energy more. But I do like her skills got diversified in recent seasons. I like her incorporeal, forcing her enemies to fight each other spells. Also she got a lot more stamina as she can use her holy ankh more in rapid succession
Because they forgot that this is a show with a bunch of other characters and at least 3 large superhero teams that needs to shine. You have the justice league, young justice, the outsiders and the legionaires all of them needs a chance to shine
@@JP-br4mx It would be less controversial if they don't promote that the show gonna back the focus to the OG members. Add that with how great and focused are the first two arc to their supposed main characters (Megan and Artemis). So people have great hope with the rest of the arcs
IKR. In Justice League Dark they took the easy route and just played Camilla Luddington’s recorded dialogue in reverse, but here (and in the DCAU) they actually have Lacey Chabert say her dialogue backwards. I love it.
You can really see her character development at 01:43 she had a very difficult time doing the spell the first time but could easily do it now without breaking a sweat
Zatanna has become one of my favorite characters in this show along with Dick, Wally, and all the other OG characters. Sure this version of Zatanna isn't as powerful as her comic book counterpart, but I think it makes sense as she started out as a teenager who wasn't on her dad's level of magic. But as she grows older, she gains more experience with magic. I also think the idea of her being a teacher is pretty cool
yeah I really love Zee moments with her proteges. Also I would like to add that Zatanna got a lot of great moments with her proteges in the comic. Her story with Misty Kilgore in Zatanna Seven Soldiers is so beautifully done in which Zatanna making Misty a better person and in return Misty help Zatanna recuperating from her deppresion.
At least she got a lot of screen time in her arc. Meanwhile Rocket got only like 10 minutes of screen time before they turned over to the New Genesis characters. I was so pissed….
I don’t think they did Zatanna dirty at all. She had to fight 2 chaos lords (technically all of them considering Child was backed by all of them but one) and the Emerald Empress. Also with a bunch of people way more accustomed to a dimension she was unfamiliar with. If anything, the fact she was on defense as much as she was shows the level of power the villains she was fighting against had. Zatanna was the main reason they found Conner at all. Her arc wasn’t as much about her as I think we would’ve all liked, but I don’t think they did her dirty in terms of showing off her power imo.
My only complain is that she should have the win over Ursa. I mean I know that they like to show how OP Miss martian is over and over again but I think that her taking Lor zod down would be enough and Z would have won a 1×1.
At very least I'm glad that Zatanna and Klarion are two of so many charachters that hold an integral part to the main plot of the season 4. 1. Zatanna's arc really set Kaldur's arc. 2. We can see why Vandal always have Klarion on his side apart from all of the Light's members (right from the 1st season). 3. The 3rd Arc really ties the red dot while building its own storyline. 4. Without Zatanna, there will be no "mission: rescue Superboy" 5. Without Zatanna's, the group wouldn't work together, be in one frame and do some cool actions that we all love. 6. Marry Bromfield wouldn't be the new furries. After Kaldur's arc, I've had enough with this show, the way they potray a lot of uneccessary things into the series etc. However, the last episode of Rocket's arc plus the beginning of Nightwing's arc, it feels like I watch the 1st season and I personally reckon that they do save their budget for Nightwing's arc. I mean look! The fight animations look dope and alive and I'm so satisfied with this season finale!
Agree lot of cool battle scenes in later part of the season. Too bad it's COVID time as I believe they can flexing more great scenes if they have more time. @Nathan Waiganjo I prefer more quality time albeit short. But I do love her screentimes in this season and it's nice to see people like it too
I guess I have an unpopular opinion, I don’t think Greg & Brandon did anyone “dirty” this season. I liked Zatanna’s portrayal even tho I think the ending to the arc could have been executed better. I also loved seeing Raquel she’s one of my fav milestone characters it’s a shame the legal battle w/ the Mcduffy estate lasted as long as it did or she would have been used more in season 1 as Greg confirmed on Twitter. Side note: NOBODY pays attention to the fact that Mary took a BIG shot of Klarion’s chaos energy @ 2:07. That is 100% a part of the reason she gave in to Granny goodness.
Zatanna’s come a long way in my opinion. Before she was getting bodied by Klarion all the time but now she can actually hold her own. And she even has protégés. It’s a shame what happened to Mary though.
Hold her own is a bit of a stretch. She is still outmatched by him. She's just become knowledgeable enough to deal with the situation to not die. Like summoning him in the tower of fate and making him hold up his end of the bargain. If he ever took her as serious as he did Child, she'd be short work in this stage of young justice

Loved her as a teacher and her reunion with her father was beautiful but I feel like they should have done more with her this season, also her plan with the helmet and treatment of Mary gave very much her in Identity Crisis for comic readers

Zatanna is one of my favorite characters, and my favorite magic user. Like many characters...she referred to, or described as one of the most powerful sorcerers in the dc universe. But sadly, in my opinion, has never been portrayed that way in this show.

I think miss martian and zantana should stay together on missions. Remember back in season one where she was trapped with that one eye magic monster and miss martian was able to use her telekinetic mental link to get a hold of her.

I've been looking for a complete spell video for a while, but seeing how she was able to unleash herself in S2 and bring down airships in season 1, right now I feel like the show did her dirty.
I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE HER BE A MAIN THIS SEASON. But then they made her spell casting so damn elementary. Like why isn't she fighting back fr? All this supplemental shit. it was so painful watching each week through her arc. And even in the final fight like she was barely pulling her weight. It's nothing like how she was in Season 1 that instantly made her my favorite.
I just noticed something near the end of the video 8:38 where the team was in the phantom zone. How did they established a psychic link without M'gann there, was it Zatanna?
i believe so. Z did a lot of magic in this arc that’s mainly seen in telepaths. Ex: showing & revealing memories, forcing enemies to fight each other, and most likely the psychic link. Which made me annoyed how Mgann could take on Emerald Empress, but Z couldn’t when she could easily mimic Mgann’s entire power set 😭
imo she’s the strongest on the team, Miss martian coming close to second. she can do anything imaginable if she believes it. they nerf her so hard here but it’s understandable.

I think, Zatanna is really in her low capasity in this season. To people who think Scarlet Witch is more powerful than Zatanna; You should probably watch the previous seasons. Her true form can be nearly x2 powerful than Scarlet Witch. She doesn' t even have to cast spell with anything, she can do whatever she thinks.

Everyone has their opinions and I respect that. But in my personal point of view, Zatanna has more spotlights in here rather than in the previous 3 seasons. Well, at least a 10 minutes of compilation of her chanting spells is better than nothing.

ok she has more screen times this season, but she can't even beat her opponents herself for once, she got wasted bc of one hit, and it's been 10 years and still her skills are just like ss1 and 2 , which is so frustrating to see while i've already known how powerful she is in the comics :((
Her skills are not the same. 1:45 remember when she did that spell for the first time? It was super hard for her and now she can do it with no effort
I think, Zatanna is really in her low capasity in this season. To people who think Scarlet Witch is more powerful than Zatanna; You should probably watch the previous seasons. Her true form can be nearly x2 powerful than Scarlet Witch. She doesn' t even have to cast spell with anything, she can do whatever she thinks.
Scarlet Witch doesn't need to cast spell either, her magic is auto pilot.

As far as spells go, Wanda doesn't need to say anything either to cast spells, in fact, there are times when she doesn't even realise that she is using magic and it's just running on it own.

I just hate how she gets tired everytime. The enemies get so very powerful but everytime she cast her magic she's panting right after. I hate how they use this plot for magic heroes everytime. She's so cool this season though and the fact that she's voiced by gretchen Weiners

But in my personal point of view, Zatanna has more spotlights in here rather than in the previous 3 seasons.
Well, at least a 10 minutes of compilation of her chanting spells is better than nothing.
I rather have fewer times screen but she treated well and become complex, competent and active character than what happened on her arc

Zatanna this season was made to seem to underpowered compared to other seasons , She is capable of so much but honestly made to do simple baby magic and the same old spells and getting knocked out after one hit
More her opponents were just all high caliber.
