I'm the guy that bought the Snomaster 85L Expedition Series. Still love that fridge the most. I have two of the Iceco JP series. I've had around 11 of these 12v fridge/freezers over the 20 years of driving truck. I consider brands like ARB and Dometic second tier. These Iceco's are a tier below. The reason why is insulation. I had my JP50 come unplugged and it only took about 4.5 hours to go from 8 degrees to 50. My old Dometic CFX3 that my sisters using had the same thing happen. And it took 10+ hours for it to go from 8 degrees to 29 degrees. Had it happen with the Snomaster as well. 8 degrees freezer 35 degrees fridge. I do not know how long it was unplugged seems to me 15+ hours. When I plugged it back in Fridge was 39 degrees, freezer was 24 degrees. The JP series has 70mm of insulation too. Compared to the Dometic's 60mm. The badassery that is Snomaster is 70mm. The Danfoss/Secop is a good compresser. And has a great warranty. They were better when they were made in Europe. They are Chinese made now. I do recommend these Iceco's to truck drivers. It gets them in the game for eating better on the road. I know a guy that has a Dometic CFX3 100L on the top bunk of his Peterbilt. Another with a ICECO VL74 in place of his passenger seat. And three others that have bought Alpicools with the LG compressor. There's a ton of drivers going this route. I'm not a brand loyalist. Now that Dometic has the CFX2's out I might recommend them too. Along with Iceco's. If they go on sale. The life inside a climate controlled truck isn't hard on these fridges. My top tier is Truma, Snomaster, National Luna and the King Engel. More 60's and 70's Engels are still running all over Australia and Africa than any other. I've seen the compressor that Truma uses it's called the Blue Compressor looks exactly like the Snomaster. Except blue. Bigger than the Danfoss/Secop BD50F and Dometic VMOSO3. The Truma are the same cabs as the Mycoolman in Australia. And have the same innards as the ARB's. Back before National Luna designed their own compressor they ran the Danfoss/Secop BD35F in everything. Dual Zone or single it didn't matter. You don't need big power btu output with well insulated cabs. Little 325btu Danfoss pumping it's guts out in that African heat. Snomaster is over kill on so many levels. I seen mine on high mode almost pull 100w on my Bluetti EB200p. Always like your reviews on these fridges.
That is a very nice looking fridge. I like the all aluminum fridge vs the all plastic ones. The secure latches are much stronger than some other brands. When my current fridges die out I will definitely be looking for Iceco as my replacements.
I have the VL65 and it's fantastic, but turns out it's too big for 90% of what I generally use it for. It worked perfectly for when my power went out and had to put all the fridge items in it and hook it up to my ecoflow though. Might have to pick this one up too for the rest of the times.
Not sure how it would all pan out depth wise for most rear cargo areas, but running both the fridge and that powerplant on the same fridge slide might work out pretty slick. One could even build a slight "floor" riser under the bluetti to get the tops of both units at the exact same height for improved "stackability" of things on top.
Interesting ! . . . I've been kicking around the idea of the Dometic CFX3 25 , and I stumbled onto this video . . . although it's a little smaller in capacity, it's a pretty compelling option, especially considering the price point. I think Dometic is a 3 year warranty vs 5 on the ICECO.
And I did make a mistake in this video, Danfoss IS Secop. I didn’t know that. So this little thing is a solid little unit. I’m looking forward to getting some use out of it!
Secop is Danfoss. Well at least from what I thought. I’ve seen a lot of their compressors come across the FedEx dock and I think they say both names. Maybe I’m confusing that. Either way, 5 year warranty can’t be beat.

I love my IceCo JP50. All the features and warranty I need without the big tariff.
I already have a large yeti cooler. I think this is a perfect size fridge to supplement that.

That’s a really good idea. Then it would be easily removable to boot.
@@IndependenceOverland let me know where to send the IP invoice lol 🤣🤣

If they make a 30-35qt version I’m picking one up. Currently have a Dometic 18qt
I believe they have more sizes like this coming soon, but thats just a rumor.
They do
@@cardanorobin4436 now they do. I saw their Kickstarter
❤. Kinda want this though it may be 3 inches longer than I can use
Been loving my iceco vl45 for a little over a year but this smaller one is bad ass
It might be about perfect for a solo weekend trip. They really nailed the exterior of it too.
Looks good but efficency is poor. Very telling about the UA-cam reviews who dont talk about it.
🤦🏼♂️
How long will it stay cool while unplugged or turned off?
Same as when you home fridge faces a power outage. It’s best not to open it if it’s unplugged.

Interesting, yeah I looked it up and your right, it is a Danfross they are just a different name now.

lol Danfoss. IIRC, Secop took over Danfoss.
For the price it should all the options. Light and soft close hinges.
The soft close hinges are nice in one regard, I’m just really used to only needing to latch the lid during transport.
Why does this say it uses half of the power of the regular iceco 20?
Definitely a good drink fridge.
Just about perfect, and really is what it’s probably designed for.
Good backseat fridge. Love how Cara from Ozark overland has it in her jeep.
Locking latches exist to keep animals out.
Anti planned obsolescence. I love it.
