Went to an to the Aviva for a home six nations game this year and I have to say the atmosphere in this game was tenfold. COYB
Can we please stop calling it "Aviva." It's Lansdowne Road.
@@karlmartin849 It's not actually. The Aviva stadium was built on the site of the former Lansdowne Road Stadium, which was demolished in 2007.
The lack of business meetings helped. When true rugby fans are there you can barely hear the commentators
The crowd knew there was a real danger Leinster could lose as La Rochelle have been so good and basically cost them 3 champions cups in a row so there was a real sense of jeopardy. In the 6 nations games it felt as though it was a foregone conclusion and the crowd were just waiting on the team to get it done as it would be easy. There is probably a strong element of the corporate thing to it too.
One of the biggest pains in the a**e about going to big games at Lansdowne Road is having to get up out of your seat every few minutes to allow people to pass with trays of pints or bags of chips and god-knows-what-else. Why do they bother paying for tickets? It doesn’t make for a great atmosphere.
Atmosphere in the Aviva today was a credit to La Rochelle’s dominance over the last few years. Six nations matches gone by have struggled to compare with the noise today. Roll on Croke Park, what an occasion that’ll be!
Very true man
Have to imagine it’s because the stands were packed with true rugby fans rather than the corporate wankers that seem to snap up all the 6N tickets
@@ds-cx5yothis happens a lot on South Africa. The Springbok games are too expensive for normal people, but when you watch a sold out Stormers game the atmosphere is insane
Well said
Electric atmosphere
I absolutely love this rivalry. Seeing it develop over the past few years has been brilliant. The games down the years have gone above test matches for intensity and drama for me. These two teams have made each other better through constant competition.I’m a complete neutral as well so it’s easy for me to watch!
What a kick from Henshaw
That was a better crowd than most international matches. And they were treated to a game.
52K people who bought tickets with a few days notice. Everyone was there for the rugby and wanted the win badly. You could feel the difference.
Hi 👋🏻 was at the game. Lost my voice by the end of the night 😂
@@BrendanSutton I imagine
Take a bow James Lowe.❤.
Always been a fan of this guy since his chiefs days.
Jack Nowell, they targeted him all game. Rob Baxter's one smart cookie.
Slowest winger in world rugby.
Yep, was at the game. Leinster scored a lot down his wing
@@Stdy1weak tackling as well on mccarthy
This Leinster team is something else.
So much for ROG's great masterstroke of bringing his team to wet and soggy Cork 😂😂😂😂
Probably spent the week being told Caaarrrk is the real capital 24/7 and being force fed spiced beef and Beamish.
Typical West Brits
@@KM9494. The Rebel County got its name from Perkin Warbeck. But I suppose they were so busy supplying beef to the Royal Navy and British army they forgot where their name came from. The most “west Brit” county in Ireland.

Redemption day
Great game and great atmosphere. Bunch of french fans beside me were surprised at the noise and colour. Kept taking photos of the fans.
Great awareness from McCarthy to take that ball to the side line and offload to Lowe.
Leinsters passing in the first try of the second half was insanely classy.
wow, excellent tries, Bairds was a work of art
Stormers softened La Rochelle for Leinster. They looked beefed and battered even before they entered the field.😂 That said though Stormers would have been beaten even worse than La Rochelle. Leinster are just on a another level.
Awesome how on tv they can make it seem like there’s ads painted on the grass. I was at that match yesterday and the grass wasn’t painted no ads on it. It was as fresh and green as it ever was!
Was at the game and watching the replays on the big screens it only dawned on me then the ads on the pitch were CGI 😂😂
Fantastic game , brilliant defence too well done lads .
L’opportunité c’est focking énorme
Lol
Outstanding performance! 👍🏻
What a dominant victory. Leinster at home, pretty irresistible.
Leinster looks dangerous wow 😮
You mean essentially the irish team ❤
@@Sineadhawk I know that’s why the Irish so dangerous, these players know each other, but me as a springbok, if you can’t beat them you use the kiwis to knock them out 😂😂😂
@@Sineadhawk Games like this make you realise why Ireland bought Gibson-Park and Lowe - how many of these highlights did NOT include either of them??
@Sineadhawk Nope, you got that all wrong. The Ireland team is made up of Leinster players, not the Leinster team is made up of Ireland's players.
We'll have to get through Northampton first. They looked dangerous yesterday.
Those attendance numbers in the stadium OMFG.
What a game !
At croke park no one can beat an Irish team. What a dominant display from the my leinster boys. ❤. Love and respect from Sri Lankan fan of you.
France did
It’s not croke park
The noise from the fsns is something else
In the Semis Leinster vs Northampton in Croke Park 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
What a difference a year makes
This is what happens when you allow your fans to buy tickets for their team. compared to international 6 Nations matches, with tickets for the boys and corporate tickets. It's time to put the 6 Nations tickets on general sale. The Atmospheres are night and day. The atmosphere was close to the final last year.
This is Leinster's title to lose
COBIB!!!
I love rugby and enjoyed the 6 Nations matches, except when the English beat Ireland, they were just lucky! I'm married to a Welshman so it's fun when Ireland play Wales 😅😅😅😅
Can anyone tell me what song played at the end of the match in the Aviva?
Waterboys, Fisherman’s Blues I think
Waterboys, Fisherman's Blues
@@flaxon3legend, thank you
Didn’t watch the game, but looks like Leinster gave Nowell a rough go.
come on Leinster if you get the Final in london i will be there just like in past 👍👊🤛🖕
The aldritt tackle before the JGP try, is that not a head on head clash, upright, high force, so why does it seem nothing was given?
No head contact, Frawley bulldozer'd him 😂
@@hedonaut there is clear contact, yes frawley blasted him, but you can clearly see frawley gets hit in the head so surely a pen at least against La Rochelle?
Beat them convincingly without our 3 best players Ringrose, Keenan & Ryan.
If no one can stop Leinster this year, how will anyone stop them next year with Snyman and Tupou and Nienabers systems are fully in place
Both incoming spend a fair bit of time with the medics, but yes, get them on the park and we effectively have the power of of the likes of La Rochelle but ball players across the park.
Syman. Walking hospital mate.total liability.?
Saints will
Well, basically playing with half the team paid for by the IRFU and no salary cap will lead to an outstanding team.
@@michaelmoynihan9591 Snyman was good enough to win the World Cup, maybe his heart is just not in club rugby.
I noticed that the Munster fans abandoned a lot of the La Rochelle scarves on the route into the city.
I take it to be buying Northampton scarves for the next game.😊
Wonder if Dorris disrespected aldrit at the coin toss 🤔
Let's hope so
Great craic with booing rog! Cocky f
Turn off the sound.
The Le Rochelle supporting, Cork git Lenihan, is part of the commentary team.
Question: Were the French/Australians/English/New Zealanders playing for Le Rochelle OR the RTE Rugby team more disappointed with this result?
I had to mute him several times. Absolute motormouth
Delighted to have been in the ground so I didn't have to tolerate the pair of gobbshites
He’s a complete dunce
Je suis très déçu 😢
this must be the Jaques Nienaber effect
The defence for sure but the attacking was always there.
Yes !!! Out LaRochelle…!!!
So sad for rog……not really
Do Leinster play away sometimes ?
Ask their WAGS
If they weren't top seeds they wouldn't be playing at home. That's how these competitions work.
They do top their groups a lot which earns you the right to play at home in the knockouts. Who was it they beat in the group stage away again? Oh yeah La Rochelle.
@jmo8934 That topping your group gives you a last 16 at home, ok why not. But the quarter as well ?
Last year they played the last 16, the quarters, the semifinals AND the final at home. That's now 6 knockout games at home in a row, and they're still at home in the semis ! I mean... That seems a bit mad 😅
Don't get me wrong, they're a fantastic team !
Just sayin, when you know how crucial playing at home is in rugby, this seems a bit crazy is all.
I'm a big fan of knockout stages on neutral grounds anyway.
@@patrickhorgan8389 I wish I could 😉
Ils sont fatiguée nos rochelais une autre années
Quel domage.
It’d have been an interesting game, had La Rochelle shown up.
Leinster showed interesting potential against an absent team.
I think La Rochelle were in it for the first half, but just took way too much pressure from Leinster. Tadhg’s Furlong had hoses best game in years and he almost single-handedly nullified Skelton the entire time he was on
Leinster beat them in La rochelle earlier this year 9 - 16
I called it. Leinster will wipe the floor with Stade.
Is that the actual Irish national team playing in blue?
No
Nope. The Irish national team is made up of Leinster players rather than the other way round.
Truth be told, more or less
Amazing to see the NZ to Ireland development pathway doing so well.
Gibson-Park and James Lowe carrying this Leinster team
What a stupid comment
The New Zealand internationals for Leinster really make the difference
lol troll boy
The fiji Samoan Tongan, s aussies scot.now looking at a german😂😂 really make a difference for kiwi,s or allblacks or allmut pack?😂😂😂
Absolutely, and it's AOK....paid to play ...its called the "professional era"....just like that soccerball game...
Who was the first All Blacks captain??
@@darraghtormey1500 I hope he wasn't Irish otherwise they wouldn't make it past the Quarter Finals
What a shower
Must be nice to have the referee in your back pocket Leinster

Yes. Yes it is 😎
jesus it was slaughtering. The ref could not have saved La Rochelle
Absolute shitehousery, ref let lots of larochelle crap by. Bollocks
