As Eleanor said, she really seemed like a strong, successful, headstrong and basically bad a- woman, the type of woman I aspire to be. @@mollysequoia7127 it still isn’t confirmed because they never found the body or remains, so we can’t really say for sure that she’s dead, although that’s unfortunately most likely what happened
She’s dead. The police think so, the court thinks so, evidence adds up. Sometimes there’s enough to know without a body and unfortunately, this is one of those times. There’s no reason for him to have her purse and make fake phone calls using her phone if she is still alive.
I personally love the name “Indiana Bones”… I don’t necessarily think it’s in bad taste, so much as it refers to dogs liking bones? Idk. It might be more appropriate for a non-cadaver dog…
I think it's fabulous for a cadaver dog, as it's his job to sniff out dead bodies, as he works probably more than the average human. If that dog could only talk and tell cops how many times they were SOOO close. If only they hadn't quit, that dog would've found the body. I think they should collar them like bear hunting dogs who have GPS signal attached, give them a scent, and let them go at it. If they find the body, train them to sit and bark randomly, instead of dig them up. It would work so much better than a human, who ALSO has a similar scent, holding you by a leash, to find someone. It would also cut down on time, as dogs can normally run faster than ppl
The biggest lie I think he told was him going to Mexico to "find his wife", even though she specifically wrote him a letter saying it was an unnecessary expense and that she was more concerned about having a roof over her head than a vacation. It makes me think her death may have been premeditated.
“He owes any thousands of dollars.... Let’s give him a little shave!” 😂😂😂😂 sir you have been missing for 2 weeks and that’s the best you could come up with
Every man knows that long hair is a sign of masculinity and potency, so it is the ultimate threat to any man is to have it cut off. This was possibly his reasoning????
Side note, the only relationship I've ever had where the guy wanted to wear matching anything, was an abusive relationship where he was extremely controlling but wanted others to think we were such a cute and perfect couple. Including me. Not saying it's a bad thing but something to keep in mind.
this! abusers don’t see their victim as an individual, they see them as an extension of themselves. like i was never allowed to shower alone etc. like you said, not in all cases but it’s definitely something to keep an eye on
Same here. It starts with matchy matchy outfits to let's have 1 social media account to let's have 1 mobile phone. Then before you know it you have been isolated.
My ex started like that. Would be matching shirt and then wouldn't let me wear make up or do my eyebrows. Started convincing me all my guy friends wanted to break us up. Once I had all female friends he started saying all my female friends were sluts who wanted to influence me. Then he started telling me my male family members were making him uncomfortable and then the female ones. After we married he moved me away from my family and I wasn't allowed to call them cause long distance and then I wasn't allowed to visit them cause I was now a married woman and I shouldn't need my family. At church I wasn't allowed to make friends because I had an image to uphold. 5 years later he wouldn't let me work and I was left home alone all the time. He would go out with other women after work and I was completely isolated and depressed. After our second physical altercation I decided enough was enough but I couldn't just up and go cause I had removed everyone from my life. It took almost a year for me to leave between his cheating and making me feel like it was my fault and his entire family making me feel like I was worthless without him and if I left I would be shun.
Reminds me of one of the ending scenes in the movie "The Lovely Bones". The man puts the girl's body in a rusty safe I think, and there's a shot of the safe being loaded in a junkyard, tumbling down a hill of trash, then disappearing under a pool of muddy water.
I’m so happy that Eleanor goes out of her way to talk about the life of the victims because it humanises them. In a lot of true crime programs I watch they always dehumanise the individual but they are also people whose lives and personalities should be told. Thank you Eleanor 💕💕
Being from Southern Africa, where many women actually experienced having their dreadlocks cut off in public spaces, i almost gave him the benefit until he said it had to do with owing money. Typically they’d cut off the locks to sell them as extensions, until faux locks popped up
I wonder how do people that lost someone to a gruesome murder cope with life? How much strength it takes to get up and face reality. I wouldn't even function. My heart goes out to everyone that has experienced loss.
It’s almost impossible to breathe every second of the day. Especially if it is a sensationalized crime. You pretend not to scream inside of your head anytime something reminds you. You pray a lot. You thank God a lot. You cry a lot. You adjust a lot. It’s almost 2 decades later… I’m still waiting for it not to hurt so much. Her memory and others give me strength. ❤️💫❤️🙏🏼❤️💫❤️.
You just kind of do, you just keep going, the feeling of loss never really goes away, but it gets easier to live with. I still haven’t fully come to terms with a good friend of mine having been shot and killed, then her killer ran away and ended his own life. She had a son too, seeing him at the wake, not understanding where mommy went, that broke me. It still makes me cry thinking about it. And how broken her mom was while she put on a brave face for her grandson, that strength, that got me too. But in a way, it was heartwarming. She stayed strong in the face of loss and I think that’s something we all do and are capable of, All loss hurts like a sonuva and you want so bad for it to just be a bad dream. Personally I keep on living and keep the people I’ve lost in my heart and memory so that in a way, they still live on through my memories and the love I still and always will have for them. I try every day to be someone I think they would still be proud to call friend/family. To be someone I’m proud of. We humans really are capable of such amazing strength.
My father was robbed, beaten to death, and found in his car; still unsolved because police are incompetent… I had to keep going to take care of my mother. My dad never would have wanted me to shut down. It’s been two years and I’m still devastated but I just try to do things to make him proud.

The story about his hair and beard having been shaved off as revenge was so ridiculous 😂 like really, that's what he decided was a believable explanation.
Which is why I couldn’t do that job. Every time I heard something ridiculous I would be: No. let’s try this again.” Or “Bruh, give me something better than that.” Or “No, that’s not right either.”
as someone who wants to be a lawyer (and is a law student) if a client had that as his defence for a murder I’d just be like “yeah I am not saying that In front of the jury’
@@creative2716at first I thought chunks of his hair were ripped out during the struggle but no, he looked the same at Starbucks, so I think your theory is correct
Pretty sure the "Indiana Bones" dog name was just a funny pun off of Indiana Jones and dogs liking bones. I have some insight because my mother fostered puppies for a military/police dog program. The puppies are named when they're born, usually with each litter having a theme so you can tell them apart. They don't decide which role or job the dog will get until they train them and observe their personalities and strengths. Indiana's litter probably were all puns off of movies and it was just a coincidence that he/she ended up as a cadaver dog.
@@yourheartisamusclethesizeo2003 I think it's more in reference to the bones belonging to humans. I think she knows the pun, just doesn't like the context it's put into
These cases are already heartbreaking - but even moreso shattering when the bodies are never recovered. I really hope the family is able to cope and heal from this tragedy.
i love all videos about true crime but her accent is so therapeutic. there’s times I use it as background noise or even use it to go to sleep, call me addicted.
poor leslie. it's so sad that her body was never recovered and that most of this is theory. lyle is such a sick person to be able to do this to his wife. not only did he kill her but he also tried to throw off the case so many times. what a sick individual. sending strength to leslies family
Just my theory, but Leslie could have been taking a bath to relax after an argument. Maybe she says she is going to leave or something which set him off so violently. He cools down a bit, but catches her off guard taking a bath to relax, and drowns her, leading to the water going everywhere. Then, he wraps her up in the rug but as he is arranging her body, he knocks over the candle, picks it up to prevent a fire but leaves the wax because he had to move quickly. He then puts her in the vehicles as Eleanor says. I feel like it is more likely that the altercation occured in the bathroom , like a crime of opportunity. I think He saw her relaxing, got angry, and decided to take her chance of happiness without him away permanently. Because it seems impractical to have an argument in one room and fill up a bathtub and commit a murder and move the fight to the bathroom, if that makes sense. Rest in peace , she deserved so much better.
exactly....that is usually why the husband kills the wife. Money issues. Sometimes the killer husband had been fired for a while and leading a double life.
The second you said Lyle was found alive and the only one in his car trying to get to Mexico I immediately knew he had something to do with it. Lyle being alone after the both of them have been missing, looking completely different after that time and Leslie going to Mexico like that and not answering anyone’s phone calls it makes absolutely no sense.
Yup. Like if your wife has been missing for weeks why have you not called the police? Or her family at the very least? Once she said he was alive and alone I was like oop there it is.
I have a friend who has human remains detection dogs. She has a very pragmatic almost morbid sense of humor about the cadaver work, she said the dead people have already passed on and dark humor or straightforward wording doesn't affect whatever is left of them. It's a coping mechanism.
I hope he’ll be willing to at least confirm what he did and why once he loses all his appeals; just so her family has more closure and can hear from him why he did this.
Ooooh! I am online shopping on etsy and wanted something in the background to listen to and then you popped up on my screen!! Best start to my two weeks off work! You’re looking lovely as usual.
Indiana Bones, is referring to Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones movie series. He found bones, he was adventurous...he found what he was looking for...so I can see why the name. I actually like it. I really hate that the family can't actually put her to rest. Makes me feel that this why there are lost souls 💔

Actually it’s a I guess delinquent thing to cut off hair. It’s usually a woman’s punishment. Because of how attached women are to their hair and how it affects their confidence , assume somebody with dreads and a long beard are attached to their hair As well, it Might have religious or cultural reasons, so it is actually considered a direct malicious attack to do that to somebody just like it’s an act of violence to burn somebody’s clothes. It’s an act with malicious intent behind it and it’s one that emotionally screw somebody up as opposed to physically
Here in Brazil and I guess other Latin countries it's actually a pretty common thing, but then again, it's not a clean cut like his. He would've had bruises and deep razor cuts everywhere if that was really the case. Like you said, it's not about the hair itself, it's about the abuse that comes with it. When done to men, it's never just the head shaving, the shaving happens after tons of torture as a lasting reminder to the victim of what happened to them
I know looks aren't important and its what's inside that counts (and eleanor is clearly lovely) and I know it makes no difference to her videos... but I genuinely think Eleanor Neale is one of the most beautiful people on the whole platform! Shes genuinely just such a stunning person 😍😍😍😍

Eleanor did a good job painting a picture perfect marriage I wasn’t expecting him to be found alone and alive. I thought something happened to both of them. 😓 😯
The dog name "Indianna Bones" is related to the Indianna Jones movie, at one point Sean Connery says to Harrison Ford (in relation to the character choosing "Indianna" as his nickname) we named the dog Indianna! Hence Indianna Jones became Indianna Bones when they named their cadaver dog. This is my theory anyway and it was why I had a dog named Indianna too lol.
I love Aasha Davis. She's in one of my favorite episodes of Criminal Minds. I never knew this about her family. The trauma and hurt they must've gone through. I have so much respect for her.
Ummm.... Leslie goes missing, Lyle is acting sketchy, saying "I'm going to hell for what I've done" and not letting his cousin into the apartment to use the bathroom... Maybe the cousin should've gone and reported it to the police instead of waiting for them to come to him. 🙄
but I don't think that's enough evidence to suspect something as bad as what actually happened? All his cousin knew at that point was that Lyle knew he had fucked up in some way and that Lyle wouldn't let him go up to his apartment. I believe his train of thought would've been 'If anything had gone wrong in the apartment Leslie would've fixed it as soon as, and if something had happened to Leslie, her family would've known already wouldn't they?' So yeah sure it was suspicious but what could he do? The police couldn't have done much with one negative expression and some abnormal behaviour anyway...
@@klarixaun i know what you mean. But police could be asked to do a welfare check, which means that they cannot leave the place until they actually see or talk to the person they are checking on,... which gives them the right to get into the apartment. Maybe that way Lyle could have been caught in the act of cleaning-up.
@@ArinaPodolskaia That's in an ideal world, there have been many a case where police have been asked to do a welfare check and done the bare minimum (just drive past the house) and called it a day, if you'd like to look there's a comment somewhere here with actual cases in it

ikr leslie was wrong abt the sensible thing
I get upset thinking about how Leslie’s body has not been recovered, and most likely never will be. The fact that we don’t even know if she is dead or alive is so disturbing. I really hope her family and friends can find a way to cope and come together for the traumatic loss of a beautiful soul. As Eleanor said, she really seemed like a strong, successful, headstrong and basically bad a- woman, the type of woman I aspire to be. Whether Lyle killed her or not, whether she is out there alive somewhere or has passed away, it is still a painful loss for her friends, family and everyone involved.
She’s not alive the dogs alerted to dead body
@@mollysequoia7127 it still isn’t confirmed because they never found the body or remains, so we can’t really say for sure that she’s dead, although that’s unfortunately most likely what happened
@@mollysequoia7127 if they don't have a body, they can rarely say the person is dead
@@secvlarhaze And if they do still want to declare her legally dead, they'd have to wait 7 years to mark her as "Dead in Absentia". Very sad 😢
It’s still great either way.
That's going to be my next dog's name

The biggest lie I think he told was him going to Mexico to "find his wife", even though she specifically wrote him a letter saying it was an unnecessary expense and that she was more concerned about having a roof over her head than a vacation. It makes me think her death may have been premeditated.
“He owes any thousands of dollars.... Let’s give him a little shave!” 😂😂😂😂 sir you have been missing for 2 weeks and that’s the best you could come up with
“guys i have a great idea, let’s cut his fucking hair” “OH MY GOD JAMIE THAT IS GENIUS”
a perfect shave too🤔
Every man knows that long hair is a sign of masculinity and potency, so it is the ultimate threat to any man is to have it cut off.
This!! I was forced to wear the same jumpers etc as my ex husband.....he's a narcissist. 10 years after divorcing and he's just stopped harassing me!!
Wow. I never heard this until now and from multiple people. I always wanted to do stuff like that and my husband refused!👀
27:46 you can see Aasha behind him and you can just see it on her face :’( the grief and the suspicion and overall hurt, that got me
Her expression is heartbreaking 😔

I believe there are bodies in every landfill.
Same. It's really sad
Reminds me of one of the ending scenes in the movie "The Lovely Bones". The man puts the girl's body in a rusty safe I think, and there's a shot of the safe being loaded in a junkyard, tumbling down a hill of trash, then disappearing under a pool of muddy water.
Landfills are very big, so you are probably right.

You never get over it I lost a family to a murder suicide by her husband on thanksgiving 2020

Indiana's litter probably were all puns off of movies and it was just a coincidence that he/she ended up as a cadaver dog.
that's so cute omg
@@yourheartisamusclethesizeo2003 I think it's more in reference to the bones belonging to humans. I think she knows the pun, just doesn't like the context it's put into
@@turnipopolis that's the thing though. The context wasn't there when the pup was named, so it wasn't deliberately in bad taste. Just a coincidence 😉

If he owed them a lot of money, why would they shave his hair instead of ROBBING HIM OR BEING VIOLENT. Huge red flag🚩🚩
Cadaver dogs are amazing and I truly dont feel like they get enough appreciation. They help solve so many murders
1st red flag was his sudden change in appearance. Lyle was like:
🎶 Dont be Suspicious 🎶 Don't be Suspicious 🎶😂
i love all videos about true crime but her accent is so therapeutic. there’s times I use it as background noise or even use it to go to sleep, call me addicted.

poor leslie. it's so sad that her body was never recovered and that most of this is theory. lyle is such a sick person to be able to do this to his wife. not only did he kill her but he also tried to throw off the case so many times. what a sick individual. sending strength to leslies family
Rest in peace , she deserved so much better.
wait i think you’re onto something
Logical, I think this is very possible
I hope, despite the best efforts of Lyle, that her family finds peace. I can’t even imagine that pain and not having closure. Heartbreaking.💔
Eleanor: The couple were going through financial problems

Coping with what her dogs trauma??tf
I hope he’ll be willing to at least confirm what he did and why once he loses all his appeals; just so her family has more closure and can hear from him why he did this.

honestly the number of cases i’ve seen where a woman has been killed by her boyfriend / fiancé / husband is so scary. it’s like you can’t trust anyone
You raise a good point
And that is the reason why he probably thought people would buy it. No one is going to buy that, especially with all the knowledge and evidence.

I came to the comments to say this! It's not about what the dog does, odds are the dog was named before it became a sniffer dog.

Hey neighbor 👋👋 (I'm from Suriname)
Ummm.... Leslie goes missing, Lyle is acting sketchy, saying "I'm going to hell for what I've done" and not letting his cousin into the apartment to use the bathroom... Maybe the cousin should've gone and reported it to the police instead of waiting for them to come to him. 🙄
Exactly my thought!
but I don't think that's enough evidence to suspect something as bad as what actually happened?
@@ArinaPodolskaia That's in an ideal world, there have been many a case where police have been asked to do a welfare check and done the bare minimum (just drive past the house) and called it a day, if you'd like to look there's a comment somewhere here with actual cases in it
Was there no witnesses to hear Leslies screams being drowned in the apartment while this was all happening? Also the altercation they got into leading to the candle being dropped? Very sad case.
If I were the cousin, I’d feel so terrible for not saying or doing something sooner. As if you’d just carry on living your life with a suspicion like that 🤯
I think it might be an assumption she’s making that something happened to Leslie. Like he his cousin probably thought he was cheating on his wife or something like that not a murder.
