Every time Johnny makes a video I never hesitate to click on it cause i know it’s gonna be hilarious. Or I’m just in the middle of doing my homework and I’d just rather watch Johnny’s video.
I went to Brighton to learn English... I found that the people there were a little introverted but really nice, and also honest and direct. They said what they thought immediately. For example, I noticed only later in the bus that my shoe was broken. An elderly person whispered to me, with a kind smile: "Just hide it with the other foot...". And by doing the "peace" sign, they immediately understood that for me it had another meaning. Without being rude, nor aggresive, they explained to me that that sign with the fingers maybe means "peace" in the rest of Europe, but not in England (or Brigthon only?). Also seeing that I was waiting for the bus, they told me how things work without I had to ask: "You have to strecht out your hand if you want the bus to stop". My host family was really clear about the difference between British and American English about the words "soccer" and "football". But I can't tell much, I could pay for only two weeks. But I must say... some of the best weeks of my life! They also asked me, since I understood their humor: "Are you sure you are not one of us?" I miss Brighton! Have you ever been there? During the weekend I visited London only one, man is that huge! The Madame Tissaud Museum was really cool. I liked the parks in London but I was surprised you had to pay to sit on a chair...
I'm British and it is actually kinda nice here. Except the teenagers after school in parks. There's this High-school right across mine and after school in the park there will always be big gangs shouted sometimes even hurting each other though in the pubs not so likely 'nice'.
I was on a bus, and a guy sat next to me. A few minutes later, he pulled out a knife and demanded my phone. Of course, I value my life more than my phone so I gave them to him. At the next stop, he got off. Nobody even noticed. It was probably the scariest experience of my life - luckily that’s the only encounter I’ve had like that but it still messed me up
