Also I don’t think he’s saying that him being better than pros has anything to do with how insane skating is. I think he meant that the tricks that both ams and pros do nowadays are just insane in general...it seemed like more of a compliment, and sorgente is just one of those many skaters showing off how insane skateboarding can be.

Agreed. The past few years there have been ams coming up that were clearly above a lot of existing pros. Jaime Foy, Yoshi Tenanbaum, and Zion Wright are ones that come to mind. It seemed like companies just wanted them to wait a few years as ams even though they were pro quality. You don't see 13 year olds going pro anymore like Nyjah did.
