    Thank you. The key is using a 1 gallon pump sprayer filled with SuperClean at a 3:1 dilution with distilled water (or any other more effective diluted cleaner such as Purple Power) to emulsify the dirt and debris which you can then rinse off with water (in your case using less than 1 gallon using a battery operated pressure washer). This Pre-Cleans the car so you can do the actual wash with the Rinseless Wash (ONR in this case) to remove any remaining dirt on the car while skipping the final rinse step (since you are using a. Rinseless cleaner). Then you reapply a sealant (if you are doing maintenance) to the car. The 1 gallon pump can be prepared with SuperClean and stored until needed for the wash. It seems far more convenient and efficient to do this than using a foam gun with pressure washer.

      Daryl Ramos That’s not a pressure washer. He’s demonstrated the Hydroshot a number of times in previous videos. He explained the basic scenario at 8:10, as he’s demonstrated before for folks with no water or power hookups. Plus the definition of rinseless wash only means rinseless WASH, a means of reducing water.

    Been using ONR for years. Gary Dean method for me FTW. I understand what you're saying about getting good MF's dirty but I'm not a pro and just use the Costco ones and they work like a champ in this application. To me it's just the safest method since you never are going back into the "dirty" water. Just my opinon and appricate you taking the time showing your method too. Cheers.

    When doing maintenance washing on cars with a lot of dirt and highway oils, it seems to be that you will always need to use a strong enough cleaner (such as SuperClean or Purple Power) which will always strip away some of any sealant you use on the car (such as a ceramic coating). Neutral pH washes simply won’t remove the highway residue left on the car, they only remove the surface dust. So you always have to reapply sealant to the car. As such, it make little sense to use an expensive ceramic sealant that supposedly would last 2-3 years on a car only to have the strong cleaner strip it away. It makes better sense to more often use (with the maintenance washes) a less expensive but durable sealant/wash that can last between the wash frequency - particularly if the sealant is very easy and quick to apply.

    • @drzflyest4
      @drzflyest4 Рік тому +2

      Those cleaners will not strip a ceramic coat. It may remove those removable spray on ceramic coats though

    Use power clean and you can ONR right over it
    I know this is a old video. But i use the BRS and a couple 500 gsm towel. Pre treat with Power clean 5:1, rinse or go over with ONR, first wipe with bRS, 2nd wipe with wet but wrung out MF towel. Opti seal then dry with drying towel. If the car is not that dirty i do two passes with the BRS before drying.

    3:1 superclean pre-soak seems really frickin strong for paint. I love it and use it on wheels, tires, engine bay, carpets, other durable surfaces, but never tried it on my paint out of fear of it being too strong. Maybe 10:1 would still work and be effective. Your purple power vehicle and boat wash would probably be a better pre-soak option maybe? That's what I'd do at least.

  • @SpringMtnHiker

    I've developed a wash media system with ONR that nobody mentions. I use the Big Red Sponge, which has cuts in it and makes it far more effective than the yellow sponge in your demo, and 1 microfiber towel. The sponge covers a lot of surface area and makes washing quicker while the microfiber towel allows me to get into nooks and crannies. This seems to work very will for me. I fully agree with your pre rinse method. I've started to use my citrus APC when I will be waxing or sealing the vehicle after the wash. If it's a maintenance wash, I pre-rinse with ONR.

  • @DjBann
    @DjBann 6 років тому +1

    I use a similar method
    Except One pump sprayer with distilled water and very little ONR, and a small pump sprayer with my favorite car soap. Let it soak for a bit. Rinse it with the other pump sprayer to remove the soap and any loose dirt. And then use the bucket of onr and microfiber wash mitt to wash. Works very well

  • @joelharaldson8421
    @joelharaldson8421 5 років тому +6

    That’s a great process and the Hydroshot allows for use without a power source. But 3:1 Super Clean on good paint seems a little harsh since you’ve recommended it 4:1 on tires and engine bays which require much more aggressive cleaning.. It’s commonly used 10:1 on interiors, so I’d be more comfortable using Super Clean as a car pre-wash maybe 8:1 to 6:1.

    You can debate the pressure wash system,because your sheering dirt off the car at 2000 psi then dragging it across the entire car,then soap doesn’t have the same lubricity as ONR,then water is a solvent so when you are done,with just water sitting on the car alone,is harder to dry than ONR,so you will be dragging your towel multiple times on the car to dry it,with onr one or two passes with the towel its dry.

To me diluting ONR in a 256:1 ratio seams like it wouldn't even do anything almost as if water would be almost the same effect or at least very close where as wash wax all is not diluted it's pre mixed and just to me seems more "potent" or just more chemically "there" for a more effective wash but don't get me wrong haven't used either I just know that it has alot more and better reviews than ONR I'd really appreciate your input I value your word and knowledge on the whole thing. Thanks!!! And keep the videos coming bud!!!

    Great video Scott, I bought the Worx for this same reason except for salt/road residue during Chicago winters. Less damage to the paint and works great to rinse a presoak. I'm using a soap based pretreat so if it does dry on me it's not going to harm the clear coat but same concept. Appreciate the videos!

      Dallas Paint Correction & Auto Detailing. Scott, I have been using a product called F-Bomb from American Detailer Garage. It is a bit more expensive but it's highly dilutable and a very flexible product. I get very little runoff mixing at 4 to 1 and it dwells pretty well.

    can you recommend another sprayer that can deliver the distilled water to the car? the Worx powershot is nice, but I don't have one. Are there other alternatives (or methods)? Can Simple green work in place of the purple power?

      A water hose or just use your pressure washer if u use it to wash your car and simple green is ok just make sure u dilute it

    Why not just use the PP Boat & Vehicle in the sprayer as a TRF instead of Super Clean. Is the Super Clean better for TFR?

    Scott, unrelated to the video, how do you feel about mixing products?
    I’ve just got a load of soaps( Meguiars:Goldclass, Ultimate wash and wax, wash plus, Chemical Guys glossworkz, and purple power) spray waxes(Meguiars carnauba, ultimate), liquid waxes(Meguiars cleaner wax, carnauba, and white wax),and a few sealant products(Meguiars fast finish, and paint protect) I’ve just got a lot of stuff growing old and wasting on the shelf.
    Do you have any tips or advice?
    Thanks.

    Scott, what would be the effect of using super-clean this way on a coated vehicle? Would it degrade the coating quickly of mar its finish? I understand you saying "who cares" if it strips the previous wax since you are going to reapply a sealant after the wash, but I would not want to shorten the lifespan of a coating that was likely a significant investment.

      each coating is different..some coatings can be affected by a high alkaline cleaner so you need to be careful..always ask the coating company directly if you can use a non ph degreaser or soap on your coating

    If you use a degreaser often on a car, over time doesn’t it hurt the clear coat ?

    Great Job! I would say,it is a perfect way to do a rinseless way.
    Does Citrus power or citrus pre wash kind of Apc has more pre-cleaning ability?

      i think any APC would work to help break down traffic film..pick the APC or degreaser you enjoy and you should be fine:)
