- Historic hot rods, customs and speed parts are mixed in at the NSRA Street Rod Nationals and I love digging around to find all of the old school treasure. Take a look as I uncover some cool hot rods, as well as the cackle fest with four nitro burning drag cars from the '60s.

It never gets old hearing a nitro car or a car with a radical cam. Thanks for the video.
That's the sound of POWER! 😎 I'll always love drag racing. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for another great video. This one was very special to me as I grew up with a father that was a true old school hot rodder. Being born and raised in Long Beach, California, my dad and I spent many a Saturday night a Lions Dragstrip. This video really hit home with Doug's Headers corvair funny car. Our family friend worked for Doug and took me on a tour of the shop, sometime in the 1960s. I sat in that funny car in Doug's shop as a kid. I was impressed then and I am now seeing the car run. If you are ever in Southern California, you must stop by the Lions Dragstrip Museum here in Long Beach. Keep up the great videos and refreshing many great memories.
Another kool video. Long live the.good 'ol days ! An 80.yr. old Hot Rodder.
That flat black Vette was too cool ,the 55 ,the Henry...hell all those hotrods were so cool , nice work dude
For several years I have wondered how anyone could build a "cackle car"? The answer finally occurred to me: Build two. Cackle one and race the other one. Thank you for bringing these race cars to those of us not able (or not smart enough) to be there.
Terrific job my friend, what a collection of class. The Doug’s headers car idling was moving the liquid in the bottle on the adjacent car, that’s crazy loud and powerful
Thanks for taking us along! Keep up the great coverage!😎
Pretty sure the gold 55' street freak, the restored drag rod, and the red hot rod, are from the Dead Man's Curve cc. Them boys can put a straight axle in damn near anything, in about a day. They have a Labor Day show in Jersey that's phenominal. They have some amazing cars in the club, and always have famous movie cars, vintage magazine show cars... hell, the Bob Hope golf cart was there a few years. The Red Baron model replica as well. A must attend for sure. 2000+ cars, and always getting bigger.
Love everything about Drag racing!! Nothing better than the Glory Days of the 60'&70'what great memories your videos bring back!!!! Thanks again and Be safe out there until till next video.just awesome 💯
I would love to see you build a museum with all of the vintage drag cars weather or not they look pretty with nice paint or if you left them in their as found condition with as much information as you can find. Either way I am glad you are preserving the drag racing history
If you made the museum in Mississippi I would totally help
Love everything about Drag racing!!!! The History is awesome!! Remember the 60'&70' very well my favorite time in racing. Thanks again for sharing Loved the video so sweet too see again.
This was the first " drag swap meet" I ever seen that I almost started fooling,. All those intake manifolds! Are you kidding me! Wow!.
Thanks for bringing us along outstanding goodies and cars🏁
great show...as always, thanks for sharing with us old timers...
You Get It !! Back in the day Nobody knew what the OG Stuff would be worth !! Thanks Again for your work !!
Happy to hit the "Subscribe" button. Much better than just showing everyone the eye candy there, sharing excellent technical information that is impossible to take in with just one viewing. But that's okay, it's what "replay" is all about!
Awesome !
Thanks Tommy for the AWESOME coverage, pictures and videos of StreetRod Nationals 2023
That '61 M/P Corvette was one of my favorite cars there! Thanks for another great video.
Wish I could’ve gotten a closer look at that one but still enjoyed seeing it cruise around.

Ever hear of the Xsonic Corvette?
I used to ride my bicycle to irwindale raceway in 65 to watch these guys. Go cart track was across the street
Like Eric, I grew up in SoCal. My track was Carlsbad and I spent many nights watching Randy Walls smoke everybody. Very Cool. Thanks.
Nice little Ople. Happy you guys got it.
Wow impressive . No gimmicks ,silly camera angles ,pets or garbage music !Subscribed , 10/10. Merci from France
That gold 'vette...the blue roadster with the Hemi.....perfection!!! Thanks for sharing!
I've seen the Doorman and Koopman AA/SR roadster run several times at US131 Dragway back in in the 60s. Still have photos of it from back then. Beautiful car, and it ran well.
GREAT VIDEO, FELLOW HOT RODDER!😊
The Corvette with the speedy Gonzales was a barn find from Michigan, it was in barn for 40 years. The lettering was just done. It was sold to a man in Kentucky a few months ago.
Some really nice and cool things. And some nice Hot Rods and Gasser’s. That Corvair is really loud. Saw a deal where after a drag race. They would rebuild them before next race.
Love those "Radir" wheels .I've got an old 1960's Hot Rod magazine , and there's an advertisement in it for " Rader" wheels , with an " E" , Iv'e always wondered if they were the same manufacturer, and maybe changed the spelling?
Hello from Detroit, my favorite was the fuel altered cars, pure hell comes to mind lol
Really good coverage!!!
Nice Thanks
Great video. 😎👍🏻
Right on man that was righteous
Thanks
Dude! This video is so cool I had to subscribe! That AA/SR is gorgeous! I have that issue of Car Craft! I bought it new (showing my age here!).
Speaking of the stance, most everyone raised the car in the era you talk about. Lowering was done on the old Merc sleds and others, but performance minded usually raised it. Many had the back end up high (ridiculous for traction trying to copy some fast cars of the time with bodies purposely nosed down). Extended shackles for the low budget crowd. Most would get the front end up for "weight transfer". Lowering was done on street cars, if at all. I did have a guy that dated a girl in my neighborhood that owned a '59 Chevy, red, lettered the Devil's Den. It was lowered, custom hubcaps, dual read deck antennae, dingleballs, dice, white interior, lake pipes. Never knew what happened to it. It was the custom of our area and to me it became an eye sore. I forget all the details. It was all custom, no go type of modifications.
Always awesome content
Very cool champion. 👍🇦🇺
Great to see Randy Walls STEEL BODY Funny Car again...
I helped out with the Doorman Koopman car down at Rich's Radir Wheels farm quite some years ago, they were fighting a bellhousing/starter issue. Glad to see it all together and shiny, even if almost none of it is the original car anymore.
Really dig the y-block intake with the carter side drafts. Very similar to a poly 318 that grandpa gave me with twin carter side drafts. He’d bought it just for the finned valve covers at an auction. Sadly, while he ran home to get the truck and trailer the valve covers were stolen off the engine. Still a cool marine engine, although I haven’t found any info on the setup. Haven’t been able to figure out any specifics on the valve train, the valve springs look to be chrome plated. Only time I’ve seen valve springs with any plating were on display or show engines and have no clue what on earth the intentions were for someone using them. Grandpa said the engine was removed from a Chriscraft boat that sold later on in the auction which was setup with a v-drive, he suspected it had been the guys race boat.
Awesome footage from the show, great gathering of funny cars and nitro stuff.
Thanks for sharing 😊
Great coverage. 🙂
I appreciate how well you know vintage speed equipment.
Old Iron is the best Iron. Just ask any Old Guy(lol).
Awesome video!! I've seeing this stuff.
Love this stuff !!
Thank you.
I have an old 1957 fed that I’d like to find more info on original paint still on it!! Would love for you to do a segment on it!!
A Heny J without a trunk was an Allstate sold at Sears.
Allstate did have a trunkless model but early 1951 Henry J’s didn’t have a truck or glove box.
Great video!! I love those old hot rods. Makes me want to go and find my first girlfriend's father who used to build drag race cars. I am in the process of starting a Welding/fabrication/foundry/machine shop that specializes in pre WW2 English race cars. My first project that I am starting my YT channel with is a 1928 Morgan RIP MG Special with 4 wheels. I have to clear out two projects first because I am trading one for a 1983 Harley Iron Head. My next project after the Morgan is an MG Magnette boat tail racer with dual wheels in the rear. I will let you know because I think they will look good enough for pictures. The Morgan is going to have an experimental aircraft engine opposed twin as the power plant in the front that will be turbo charged. I will be making any and all parts for anything that I build or that others bring in .
Damn, that Doug's corvair is no joke 😮
The corvette you couldn't catch is local to me. They bring it to our local car show once a month.
The sound of Freedom )
They made 200 z16 65 396 chevelles . Radical blown nitro . . My God look at those gold spindle mounts
👍👍👍👍
My favorite street freak is a Henry J. You could order one through a Sears catalog
That thing sounds like you're about to be eaten in a jungle in Africa!
In the last 5 or so minutes of this , when they fired up the funny cars , didn't the guy with the gray hair and ponytail resemble the guy from Street Outlaws ? He drove the early 70's , Blue Monte Carlo . I think they called him Monza .
I was looking for that super polished fire wall and all I could see was engine parts
And I was thinking what is he talking about 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
It was so well polished it was like a mirror 😂😂
The AA/SR belongs to Rita and Rich Conklin from NJ.
I love these old hotrods all these new cars suck past 2010
Take a shot every time you hear "Back in the day." I'm not making it through twice. Woo-Hoo!
The blue 61 in your video that you wasn't able to get a better look at is owned by Derek anson who owns the heavy gitter monster truck also has several other cool vettes also in shepherdsville ky.
Oh wow! A vintage Corvette drag car and a monster truck owner? I feel like I need to be friends with that guy. Thanks for the info!
Hopefully your hearing is going to be ok.. tinnitus is no fun. I'm continually shocked at people's complete disregard for their hearing. It's not cool to lose your hearing. 👂🏻
Race car
People with the breather masks on in the rail put on the helmet!......
Fast forward to 2035 and watch those electric motors cackle.
