  • Please Share! Becky Tallman is a late-blooming woodcrafter, who also loves caring for sea turtles. She started getting sleepy in her early 20s and received a diagnosis of idiopathic hypersomnia at age 48 in 2013. As a speaker with Project Sleep's Rising Voices program, she shares her story of life with an invisible illness with hopes of raising awareness and educating others, with some laughter along the way.
To improve public understanding of sleep disorders, Project Sleep’s Rising Voices program trains people with sleep disorders to share their stories through public speaking and writing with local communities, healthcare providers, news outlets, blogs, podcasts, and beyond. Combining the power of real-life stories with expert communication strategies, our Rising Voices trained speakers and writers are effectively raising awareness and reducing stigma for all those facing sleep disorders.
