The solo on " Little Fighter " is an absolute masterpiece...!!!
One of the best solos of the 80s, by anyone,
vito was my favorite guitarist growing up in the 80s
Ah now I have work to do this weekend haha
Didn't read all the comments, but my understanding is he had serious hand issues and gave up playing for the most part. As someone going through the same thing as years pass me by, I feel for him.
I think at this point we’re more likely to spot Bigfoot or the lock ness monster than Vito!
I think vito is just a massive introvert and that's why he keeps to himself...Him staying so private makes him even more legendary though. There's something to be said about mystique. It makes him even more interesting that he's not constantly being an attention whore. Still though would love for him to come back.
@@JohnSmith-ef2sx yup I remember reading the white lion singer say Vito wouldn’t even return calls. He hurt his wrist and apparently gave up since he couldn’t play at that level.
@@JohnSmith-ef2sx He literally quick playing guitar. Crazy!
Lol
Vito was one of my favourites back in the day. He copped a bit of it because his solos were all worked out but 30 years later they sound just as amazing now as they did back then.
copped a bit??? That makes no sense. Most great solos are worked out.
We miss Vito so much!!!!!!
I see Vito and I click like, that easy.
I wonder, if Vito took a guitar now, what type of music would he write?
It’s all about the fans. Jake E Lee came back after a long hiatus, maybe Vito will do the same? Only time will tell 😊, awesome video as always Mikey!
He ain't coming back. Dude ain't got it anymore.
Vito is such a tasty and melodic player, very underrated. Thanks for the vid.
Pete Thorn knows where Vito is. He is living in those musician apartments----Thorn mistakenly got some of Vito's mail at his apartment and delivered it to Vito's in the next building, says Thorn.
I remember Pete telling that story. I also remember reading somewhere Vito returned to Long Island NY and is working in the family (restaurant?) business. Info on his Wiki page is limited, so this is difficult to verify.
@@ianfurqueron5850 He said that was a false rumor. There is this Eddie Trunk interview of him in 2007 you should check out whre he talks about it all :)
ua-cam.com/video/8N4UZPIr7SU/v-deo.html
@@Dejoblue good to hear. Hopefully he'll start playing more often.
Great lesson from this criminally under-rated player! Please do more of these thanks!
the first riff is similar to 17 girls by steel panther
When I was younger, EVH was the ONLY guitarist I liked. Then I heard the stuff Brad Gillis was doing in Night Ranger and added Brad and Jeff Watson to my list, then I got into Randy Rhoads (after he died). Eddie was still my favorite. Even after Satch came onto the scene and impressed the hell out of me. Then Vito came along and took the #1 spot as my favorite player. I always try to steer young players towards Vito's music.
I've seen so many comments on here from people saying Vito "copied everything from EVH". It pisses me off. Sure he tapped, but who didn't tap back then? I think they single out Vito for the tapping because he did it best. He stood out over the other players. Even EVH. Maybe part of the reason Vito left was because he was tired of being called "an EVH clone". Now that Eddie's gone, maybe he'll come back.
Years ago, I wrote in to Dee Snider's "House of Hair" radio show asking whatever happened to Vito Bratta. His reply was: "True story! Vito was so disgusted with the way music was heading (people loving Grunge over all other rock music), that he put down his guitar and vowed never to play again.".
I never believed the hand injury story and I think Vito eventually admitted he didn't hurt his hand. If he did hurt it, and loved playing so much, he would have taught himself to play left handed. I read a story about a player in the mid west US who did that. I can see Vito being disgruntled with the music industry because apparently White Lion was cheated out of a lot of money by their manager and record execs.
Vito seems like a quiet, reserved guy who loves his privacy. I wouldn't want to be mobbed by fans everywhere I go either. He doesn't owe the fans anything. He doesn't need to make a new album or go on tour. But it would be great if he uploaded a 5 minute video once a month of himself just noodling around on guitar. That would be more than enough to please us fans. But after all these years, maybe he's a little rusty and feels people will make fun of him because he can't play like he used to. Who knows?
It's just a shame that we won't hear any new music from......
Randy Rhoads.........because he's dead.
Eddie Van Halen......because he's dead.
Jason Becker...........because he can't move a muscle in his body.
Vito Bratta................because he doesn't want to.
C'mon Vito.....5 minutes a month. That's all we ask.
Heard the dude fucked up his hands.
@@eldirtyfaygo5395 nope, just sick of the industry.
Super cool tutorial Mike! I always think of Vito's White Lion stuff as Van Halen-ish, with no treble. And that ADA sounds killer - crunchy goodness!
He even looked a little bit like Eddie.
This is EXACTLY what
I'm 👀4... thank you!
You tapped into Vito. I wish I could tap into Vito? But whenever I try to? I sound like Kirk Hammet. All my Solo's sound like Kirk Hammet. Even when I'm playing Skynard. Bugs the hell outta me. But my non-musician friends say I shredd. But always sounds like Kirk. Makes me wanna just strum chords. LOL
🤣😆🤣😆 It could definitely be worse!
The last time I saw an MP-1 it was in my rack below my Quadraverb. Good times. Thanks for taking us through some Vito action. Great vid.
Happy Holidays from the Bay Area.
MK
Had them both along with the foot controller...sorry I sold them
My MP1 currently sits below my Quadraverb GT. All my rack gear minus the MP1 was bought at a pawn shop for cheap. I finally have the sound I wanted when I was a kid but couldn’t afford it.
Vito Bratta was EVH v2.0
Friend, l automatically thumbs up your videos. Thanks for topics on products “gear” l love. Preamps, Kemper, 80’s, and glory days history. Blessings to ya buddy
Nielson....that was an awesome guitar tone...Vito is THE MAN!!!...check out their cover of “Radar Love”...holy hell dude!!!!
It's VI-BRA-TOH
You should use the MP-1 for every video. Lol.
Great video! keeping the 80's alive.
I can't believe he just disappeared such a talented guy
I'm an upstroker"...there's really just no answer to that. Love Vito's playing.
Vito = Ed in a Hall of Mirrors. Top talent.
NICE CHOPS!!! Great playing. I LOVED Brattas work.
Just a little of Satch Boogie influence with this Bratta song. God he was incredible.
How I miss my ADA...every time I see you with your rack old candys makes me look for one to grab it again. Hope to see Vito caming back again and the huge refrigerator racks...again!!!
Vito has always been in my top 3
I don't know what it is about bank 40-49, but myself, and damn near everyone I've seen when using an ADA uses those banks as the primary bank. Excellent video as usual, Mikey!
I love the “Pride” album. I wish White Lion had a more masculine singer. Mike Tramp was just too pussy sounding for me. He was like Britney Spears, he had the look and no voice. Vito has always been one of my top 5 favorite guitar players. It’s too bad that he just dropped the music scene and he hasn’t played since White Lion broke up. He says he doesn’t even remember how to play anymore.
Awesome channel thanks so very much, BTW the last I heard from Vitto was on Eddie Truncks radio show, He said there was some issues with his playing hand, also his father was very ill then passed. But this interview was 4 or 5 years ago.
Dude, did Jason Becker rip that riff for David Lee Roth's It's Showtime?
Hummm , have you guys ever seen him live in concert ? Most boring player and band to watch ever. Barely moved throughout the show.
Crosby stills nash & young were more exciting lol 😆
Hey lovin the vito always nice to hear. Way to luxxtone by the way. They need more love.
Such a great player. I don’t think we will see him come out again.....and it’s a shame!
Great video. Thanks for keeping Vito's music alive. Cheers.🙏
I hope Vito has spent all this time storing up monster riffs and solos and one day, out of nowhere, he will release an epic solo or White Lion record.
nice, but pisses me off that i sold my ADA for 300 AU.
That harmonic trick is easier if you are doing the pull offs around 5-7 instead of lower frets
Michael Nielsen, can you make another video lesson showing Vito bratta and EVH scale sequencing patterns they would use often? when they would play a scale it would be in groups of patterns.
Put out an A.P.B. on Vito stat!!!!!!
Same riff on Love Song by Tesla.
I saw Vito play a couple of times. He was mustard.
That guitar you’re holding ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏
Loves anything Vito. Thanks for sharing!
On the first two albums Vito had one my favourite tones of all time.
Finally listened to 'Pride'. Wow... I can't believe it took me this long.
NICE!
That's awesome Mate, thank you !
Vito is always gonna be #1.
Vito was nasty.
Fuck yes !
Loved that lesson. What kind of guitar is that?
Thanks. that's called a Luxxtone. Small luthier in So Cal.
Could you share your patch on the ADA or is it just patch 42
pretty much patch 42, maybe 1 notch up or down on the mids, or 1 notch on the treble, depending on the guitar.
Elsker vito b❤❤❤❤😊
Great job and Vito was so awesome. Of all the great guitar players at the time, I thought his playing would mature the best due to the great harmonic content of his note selection. Question...Did he use EMG’s for that recording?
Thanks! Pride is a Strat with JB, Big Game is Steinberger EMG, and Mane is Strat with EMG
@@BigHairyGuitars Thank you Michael.
Bratta, Moore, Sykes, De Martini, Lynch, Lee........!!!🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻 Para los que amammos el head rock son nuestra inspiración constante. Excelente video. Bravo bravissimo...👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Thanks Mike. You've just inspired me to find White Lion's All You Need Is Rock'n'Roll on the Spotify. Very Eddie in many ways! (modded Plexi?) Be excellent to each other!
FINALLY...somebody saying how awesome Let's Get Crazy is!!! Bratta is much, much more than Wait and Little Fighter. Thanks man!
Vito was/is awesome. Really love the right hand harmonic stuff. I NEVER would have thought of any of it!
Maybe someone already said this but I thought Vito got arthritis. I have no evidence of that, just recall reading that.
The last interview stuff I heard from him, it sounded like he’s just moved on from the music business and he’s taking care of family life
@@BigHairyGuitars The world may never know.
Man I've always wanted to work up this tune Thanks so much for sharing it VB's the shit!
Our man flexin' with that ADA on the desk. 😉 I can still hear Vitto's solos in my head. Total class on the fretboard. Sorely missed.
Mr. Nielsen, your channel is amazing! Thank you for your videos.
Vitto had the most melodic and tasteful solos I've ever heard. Just jaw dropping beautiful, and technically tight as hell. What a genius.
Such an understanding of peicing together melodies and notes that melt as fluid together gorgeously...what an artist. Surprisingly, alot of geniuses sometime shy away from the spotlight...he deserves this recognition.
The solo of "wait" is pure genius... The lady of the valley is phenomenal. Little fighter is awesome too. But I've never heard a more beautiful song than "When the children cry."
His solos just sing incredibly by themselves but fit in so effortlessly snug into each song. A rare Artist indeed. The real kind...
I’ve always loved Vito Bratta’s playing. Sure wish he would start doing something again. I don’t mean to upset anyone, but as was stated many times, we can thank Eddie Van Halen’s influence for Vito and many others playing. Definitely a big influence, but Vito added his own thing to make it his.
Vito's solos were nigh-poetic. You're right, Michael- he is sorely missed.
Cool videos
You should do one on his tone on Pride album. He had a crazy reverb and delay that was unique.
How many hours a day/week do you average on guitar? Playing sounds great. Thanks for the lessons. I like that harmonic trick from radar love cover
Do more of these riffs n licks please. very interesting and excellent work.
There are two things I really like: Vito Bratta and the pic of you and Selina both bring a smile to my face :)
Vito was a great talent, too bad he doesn't play anymore.
Total Satch Boogie inspired...
Michael, that was pretty interesting! What guitar do you use this time?
Great show Michael. Downstroke rules 🤘
I have been watching your channel for about a month and I have to say you're insightful knowledgeable and inspiring you had Leon Todd with you and that's how I found your channel through Leon Todd I'm a huge RAC fan been one all through the 80s and 90s I've never quit you have opened my eyes to gear out there I didn't understand about I am internally grateful please keep up the great work look forward to what you put out and truly enjoying your knowledge and information thank you
Thank you Joe! I really appreciate that!
On a tele ? Sacrilege!,,,,!,,,,,,
Luxxtone...nice.
Thanks Mike 👍🏼

Jesus dude we must have come from the same musical mother. Every video you put out and the music you play is pretty much what I was playing or the gear I am buying (or thinking about buying). I think we’re the exact same age too. Lol.
That’s me and dagan from pmtvuk I can’t think anything without him making a video about it same week it’s weird
VITOooooooo this is the good shit!
Fun fact , the outro of “All You Need Is Rock n Roll” is the intro of “Let’s Get Crazy” 😁
I remember playing "All You Need Is Rock n Roll" in a band I as in way back then. One of the most fun songs to play in a band format.
@@dougs6433 Sounds like good times, man ;) ROCK ON!
Just a few years ago, there was a mint MP-1 for sale with the foot control for $150...and I passed on it ;-(
