    Oh hell yeah I do like those videos :)
    Best wishes ! Took me 1 hour plus to watch, cause I wrote it all down to have a digital cheat sheet, with all your techniques, you explained to this point. Hope to be able to extend on that !

    Really clever implementation! Full on granular clouds. Love the idea of messing with the stereo spread. I wonder if rather than the button-mashing note input, using global trig probability might be an interesting approach? Then you have real-time control over the density of the clouds as well.

      Thanks a lot man, I love your videos. Funny you say that because I’ve found using your random arpeggio method + trig conditions gives amazing results. Lots more to explore for sure

      @@dialectricStudios in the business world I believe this is know as *synergy*?
      I'm also wondering if a per-track microtiming offset for all steps on the track would also give a nice even spread? But as you show with the random start-time, even-ness might not be something worth aspiring to in this technique?

    Really great and creepy stuff. I am going to watch this a few times…Some of the sounds at the beginning remind me of what happens when I drop sounds into Virtual ANS, one of the coolest virtual synth emulations ever made…iOS. Scary stuff, and now AUV3…I see the Digitakt as so much more than a beatbox and find the kind of work you are making very inspiring. I just wish the process of menu diving in the machine was a little less clunky and a little more intuitive. Sigh, I just have to keep grinding away with it…

    • @dialectricStudios
      @dialectricStudios  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks I appreciate it. Looking back at this tutorial its a bit clunky and a very specific use case and doesn’t quite show off the real power of time stretching like the one that’s in rhe works rn. If you enjoyed this stay tuned more fun stuff coming :)

      @@dialectricStudios , I will because the music you are making with it is credible and intriguing. What usually brings me back to a channel is when the presenters transcend the technical knowledge they have of the gear to create something beautiful and musical. I hear that in what you are doing and that’s the thing that counts for me. You make the Digitakt sound like a powerful musical instrument, and not just a flashy toy. Also, I like that you reveal the snags that sometimes occur in the process of pushing its boundaries around. For me when digging into its odd workflow, that also challenges me to go after a different musical thing than I do with other gear. It can lead to very exciting and unprecedented sound design and music.

    I just don't quite get why you need to do this thing at 8:01 ... with the rec-'typing', you create trigs, but not on the 1/16 mark, but many more not 'quantized' in between de standard 1-16 trigs?

    • @dialectricStudios
      @dialectricStudios  2 роки тому +1

      You’re exactly right. Compare it to using a single track where there can only be one 1/16th note per step. Doing it like this there’s up to 8 trigs within a single 1/16th note, each of them slightly offset from each other in time. Each grain only lasts a short time (determined by the amp envelope) so many overlapping grains ensures there’s smooth transitions between them. In reality you can get away with as little as two overlapping tracks, but all 8 + button mashing is a quick n fun way to escape the harsh robotic sound of a low rez stretch. Hope that helps
