Yes it is. Just watched a bunch of vids they do not compare. I’ve been doing maintenance in a mining camp and didn’t know about the ext. 🤦♂️ haha I’ll pull the toilet off and buss out the drum auger. Haha
thank you so much, literally bought this thing at 8 am from home depot and within 20 mins i was able to unclog my toilet. saves me $250 -$300 plumber would of charged.
I knew my Auger had an extension, but I didn't understand how to use it. A very clear, instructive and useful video. Tried it on my clogged Toilet pipes. Toilet is flushing again like new. Thank You.
I have been a service plumber for 8 years, and a plumber for 10. I did not know my auger had an extension. It does. Do you know how many wall hung toilets I've pulled off, just to find the hypodermic needle surprise hidden 6 inches past my auger? Oh man my life starts today.
@@SadUncleTed: Kyle M: You pros of long tenure and experience sometimes scare me. In this case, not knowing the features of your tools after all these years.
I watched a ton of videos about how to unclog a toilet drain and many about using the closet auger in particular. Yours is the first that talked about the extra 3 feet. Great job! Thank you for sharing your expertise!
Thank you so much I have purchased this and I have one for my home but I did not know how to use it properly are used to always use scratch marks in the bottom of the toilet so now I know the proper way to use it thank you for sharing…
Good call about losing the handle. I lost mine months ago... rip. But I prefere a drill anyways. No need to feel anything on these little guys. I'm hammering through whatever in there. If I can't get it, I'll pull a toilet and run a real cable down there and that's that's the delicate work starts
What can i say? I have the same tool as you and my toilet has been clogged for many days. I was waiting on scaffolding so the landlord could inspect the Stack pipe as even after i was able to get a free flowing bowl, my family could only use it for peeing as solids would not pass through. water from the sink or the bath would back flow ( when blocked) into the toilet so we could not bath, shower or do the washing for feat of it over flowing the toilet. After watching your video I realized my mistake, I too have the 6ft version and thought {as i could hear it in the stack pipe (right angled not down into the floor)), that it was fully extended.. after seeing how you got the extra length I did the same and Hey Presto! the blockage has gone, though i felt no resistance (i used drill on end rather then winding it) You have saved me the expense of scaffolding, asbestos checks (old pipe) and poss having to replace the toilet itself as idiot that fitted it cemented it into position. p.s. I also brought one of those pressured air guns, worked well for a bit, just remember to put it in and angle back BEFORE pulling the trigger to avoid back spray lol (something another reviewer didn't do and got covered haha Many thanks for this video!!!
I use the exact same auger. I have a slight bend on the tip of the spring and it catches a.ton of stuf i hooked child's toothbruch the other day and have pulled adult diapers from deep in the toilet. Its also great for removing flushable wipes that aren't able to be pushed through. Just slowly pulled them out until i could plung the rest.
Roger the man the myth the got dam legend.. didnt know about the handle and extension. You taught .e something new. Only pushed about 50 turds easily through
Thanks for guidance. Quick question. When I extended full 6 foot of cable, how do I retract back in original position after cleanup? I am not able to achieve and now 6 foot cable is all out
I have two , one in my garage & the other in my truck they are great ! I have unclogged my family’s, friends, neighbor’s, strangers, & rangers toilets 🚽.
What if the auger pushes solid materials instead of pulling it out, is that a bad thing? I'm afraid of causing more damage. Should I just remove the toilet bowl instead?
Need to bring that in with a homedepot bucket not a rag or towel haha wish I didn't have so much experience with that thing only costs people 225 for me to use it tho 🤣
Hi! Most of closet auger videos I saw use a toilet bowl model which has the hole going forward so all you have to do is push the closet auger. But our toilet bowl is a different model. The hole is backwards. Can you please make a video using that kind of toilet model so those of us who have a different model of toilet bowl will also know how to use the closet auger. Thank you!
I’m a maintenance engineer for a large casino here in Las Vegas and I’ve used these pretty much daily. You’d be shocked at what can get flushed, I’ve pulled out a brand new iPhone, sunglasses, shirts, underwear, wigs and of course paper towels and the like lol
I have a very old version of these left behind by the former homeowner at my house. I was going to toss it until.my father in law told me what it was and i would be stupid to throw it away. Well, thankfully I'm didn't because I just pulled what looks like a wad of dryer lint stuffed in a toilet paper tube out of the toilet after 2 plungers, a lot of mopping, and about an hour of work. Using the auger took as long as this video with nothing more than a slight bit of elbow grease.

BULL when you say that you can get another 3 feet by just pushing in the button. Even when you push in the button and start pulling out, the button does not appear in the lower hole. Why did I waste my time and money on this piece of crap. I’ll call the plumber tomorrow.
This is the best explanation and demonstration. Being recently widowed, I am learning to do many things on my own. Thank you

Turn it counter clockwise and pull to rectract it. Remember you pushed down and cranked to go into the toilet so you're just reversing the process.
