I used to live in Ferrara for 3 years at the end of the last century. ( it sounds funny) Thank you very much for sharing this video. It brings a lot of memories to me. I used to visit small towns in Italy too because they had a special atmosphere and fewer tourists. Good luck with your blog!
Very informative and well put together vlog! I want to make it back to Europe so badly, and videos like this just make the travel bug bite me that much harder! Really great video Valeria, keep up the great work! Can't wait to see more of your adventures! 😊
Hello, thanks for the beautiful video. It is really refreshing. Ferrara is the city where I grew up and the city where my father was born. I try to go as much as possible since my mother lives there. Every time is a new discovery. And yes, it is the most beautiful city in the world in the most beautiful country in the world! I already subscribed to your channel.....
We were in Ferrara in July and it is magnifica! Biking the ancient walls around the city was a favorite for the teenagers. I enjoyed the frescoes in the beautiful medieval buildings. Highly recommend this stop! And yes- everyone told us in July “we are so excited you are here. You are the first American travelers we have seen in two years!!” There we’re many many tourists from Germany and Austria that we heard around but no Americans - I’m ready to go back immediately!!
I hope you can visit soon again! Ferrara is one of the most underrated destinations in Emilia Romagna, but it is spectacular indeed ❤️ I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!
Ferrara is one of those tertiary (if not quaternary) little cities that tourists almost never visit .... and that rivalry you witnessed is so common between Ferrara and Bologna. When a Bolognese talks about a "Ferrarese", it's almost never complimentary. lol .... and that bread, so distinctive and good.
@@DramaticallyExpatic It's sad, but you've been around long enough in Italy to see other little cities that merit visitation --- Ravenna (if there are any tourists there, it's the few that visit specifically for the mosaics), Forli, Cesena ... perhaps Brescia, Bergamo, Vicenza, Treviso as well. Italy is just blessed with too much history, too much culture, too much art, too much great food. lol It's an existential nightmare for any "true" traveler of the world. I spent over a decade of my life there and barely scratched the surface of the things worth seeing. 😊 PS: Should have added Cremona and Mantova to that woefully inadequate list.
Depends on the place, it's more complicated in smaller towns and villages, but in bigger cities (even like Ferrara) it's definitely not an issue - most people speak at least some English!

This is so sad - Ferrara is amazing, and it has so many things to offer to tourists! However yes, this rivalry is so true for Bologna as well 🙈

Noooooo... i Caplaz vanno mangiati col ragù, al burro e salvia è come bestemmiare in chiesa😂
Saluti da Ferrara.
Where in Ferrara is this restaurant?
Brava come sempre.
How easy or difficult would you say it is there for non-Italian speakers? Is the level of English among the general population adequate?
Depends on the place, it's more complicated in smaller towns and villages, but in bigger cities (even like Ferrara) it's definitely not an issue - most people speak at least some English!
