I've had as many as 14 quail chicks hatch and brood for 12 hours in mine. After the 12 hours I place them in a cardboard box with a corner heating pad, puppy training pad and small water and food tray (I place Legos in the water to prevent drowning) I also use a full spectrum led light rather than a chicken warming light. I had 0 mortality in the hatchling after switching to a full spectrum led.
I had a really hard time keeping the temp up with this incubator! I had to put a blanket over to keep the temp at the right degree. Aside from that i loved this incubator.
Just purchased a NR 360 Was advice to put inside a good quality temp gauge and go by that temp reading. You do sacrifice an egg sloth but it's worth it.
This a good incubator I had about 90 percent hatch rate all u gotta do is add water daily does everything by itself one thing I learned is jus don't open up incubator if you don't have to wait to candle till like day 10
It doesn't matter. Doing waterfowl eggs that need a cooling period everyday. Also, in nature, the hen, duck or chicken, must leave the nest daily, to eat , drink , defecate. Shrink wrapping happening here too, in this model of incubator ...i have one. I put hatching chick back in incubator, wrapped in warm wet washcloth or paper towel. Where i live, its VERY VERY dry. Others in Florida report never that being an issue with this model.
Interesting to see your results. I really hate it when the chicks get stuck in the egg. I've helped some out..some do ok, others I should have let nature take its course. Take care
When you do the dry hatching 🐣 you put water in at day 18 the dry part is to allow the air sack to form better by drawing moisture from the egg 🥚 I've hatch 2 batch of Marans chicks this way and they hatch from day 19 onwards no idea why they hatch early thou ??
You don't leave the turner in. This makes it harder for the chick to have room. Do you think when they hatch naturally they don't push the other eggs around. Of course they do. They run over each other and roll the other eggs. This is natural and we try to mimic that as much as possible.
@@ozarkshomesteadandfarm oh didn't mean nothing by it. I have two incubators just like this well made like this. I have this exact one and 5hw kebonnixs 12 egg incubator. Both work very well seems like.
Yeah Mark I didn’t take no offense I just like to respond to all my commenters and like I said I was just concerned about the eggs getting trampled but you are correct
I've had terrible hatch rates with this incubator. Purchased it as an extra incubator for my quail and pheasants. I have a cabinet incubator and a couple cheep china ones with good hatch rates. Used this twice . One chick the first round. ZERO the second. All temps and humidity showing correct.
Wow that sucks, I really would like to know what the issue is....... The only thing that I did recognize was that because it’s not a Styrofoam incubator it has very little insulation and if it’s super cold where you’re at the temperature may struggle to maintain but other than that that’s just weird.
I AGREE, Not enough room in it ... But i see it as incubator ONLY. Not brooder. I remove them once their hatched, or nearly, into a warm, small, quiet, dark box in brooder. You really don't need chicks in the incubator. it is very hard to clean, that model. ANOTHER point , is that if hatching different breeds together , or species, you don't want the Australorp & Rhode Island Red chicks, accidentally trampling the SILKIE, Serama or D' Uccle chicks. No goslings trampling your Call Ducks. Goslisg or cygnet couldn't even comfortably stand in there.
Thanks for watching and commenting those are valid points I would love to see them change the design make it taller I really like the visibility of the incubator
Right I’m becoming a fan of the dry run it’s funny that everybody’s opinion is that if the chicks don’t hatch it’s not human enough but a dry run can do so much better it’s still early but I’m definitely favoring the dry run
I disagree, I've had 2 of these incubators the old style and new, neither one of them will hold the temperature or humidity they have very low hatch rates 1 to 0 eggs hatching per time, don't waste your money on this incubator, especially if your buying your eggs, trust me just spend the money and get a good one that's worth it. I promise you will be happier especially if your buying and hatching expensive eggs like p-foul
I take mine out as they hatch. No problem. Just get it out, put lid back on quickly.

Very interesting, thanks for sharing
They make extender rings that will raise the height. Check on-line 😊
Excellent info, thanks for watching!

Hmmm. Was it cold where the incubator was?? Others have the same issue but I have not. Make sure lid is on right, it’s kinda tricky.

Just bought one of these and are trying it now.
Hope you get great results, I really love the clear plastic design.

Thanks for watching and commenting , it’s my favorite so far
Had the same experience as you Jesus! Just added water and only candled like twice. Kept candling to a minimum. 95% hatch rate twice.

I recently did a test with different humidity levels you should check out the video but yes your location and humidity where you’re at is the key

Day 18 take eggs out, then take ring out and put down kitchen cabinet material and put eggs back in, helps with splay legs.
Thanks for watching and commenting…..excellent idea

Hey thanks for watching the video and the input I was just giving it a shot I’ll remove it on the next go around

@@ozarkshomesteadandfarm I have learned alot on youtube of what to do when hatching and what not to do lol. But thanks for the video though
Ok use low humidity during incubation and lockdown. They hatch fine. I find using too much is worse for the hatch.
I’m currently making a video I’m doing a dry run we’ll see how it turns out
You need to take the egg turner out for the chicks to be able to come out, they can get stuck
Ty, I do now…….but it does stop turning automatically.
I take my turner out and it stops turning by itself on day 18. I have 2 of these cause I loved them first one so much I went and bought a 2nd one.
Hey, thanks for watching and yes I love mine too

Is it turning the eggs well? Since quail are smaller
@@ozarkshomesteadandfarm she probably didn’t adjust the temp to make sure the inside was same as what it said outside

Once you fill Part A with water. How do you know when you have added enough water the next time?
There is a small overflow hole for each section on the outside of incubator
Fill slowly till it overflows
I had some people get 100 percent in dry run

I've had 0 issues with mine. I've had 80% hatching rate each time. Maybe yours is defective
Agreed
