As you all know I just had a salon visit where I got a silk press & trim... My hair didn't hold up very long. But this was the perfect solution. This wig is beginner friendly and easy to install. You're the first person who said the clips hurt and cause tension. Yes, they do! Thank you for being honest.
Yes this is so true . I don't use the clips . I just tack the hair loosely on my anchor cornrows with needle and thread.
I like clips when my hair is NOT braided...but I do need to add more or move the placement to make it tension free. When I have a braid down with leave out, I prefer combs. I just learned this recently. I am waiting on Black Friday so I can buy a second wig to put combs in all over.

Last May while I was on vacation in Miami I got my first and only silk press, trim, and curls. It was beautiful just like yours. I left the shop about 7:00 p.m., walked the streets of Miami to find something to eat all the while feeling myself and swinging my curls. About 10:00 p.m. while waiting on my to-go order I decided to take a selfie. OMG, the silk press was gone. Went straight to the hotel and got my wig together for the next day. LOL. Never again.

This is a wonderful way to stretch your silk press. I usually do a ponytail to take advantage of it’s straightness. That’s good you improvised and didn’t put additional heat on your hair. Very beautiful 😍 turn out. Your texture match is spot on.

It really does match your natural hair perfectly. In the thumbnail, I was wondering if your hair got longer, then I read the caption. Now when you work out you can wear this or a headband wig. Love that you always give different options.

I use to get my trim and silk press on Thursday.. I don’t workout on Sat/Sun, so I switched to Friday. I have 3 days to enjoy my silk press, and Monday it’s back to business!!!
That’s a great idea! I typically get mine done on a Sunday due to my schedule. But, a Thursday or Friday would be great so that I could keep it for a few days before working out on Monday 😅
She is bomb edge control works well on natural hair. It lays well and leave no residue.

When I workout with a silk press I just put my hair in two pigtails or loose buns and will wear a sweatband around my edges. Luckily, I don't usually sweat a lot on my scalp, but I don't wrap my hair up when I workout because that will trap in the heat and make me sweat more. I do wrap my hair after I'm done and fully cooled down.
I may have to try that. But, unfortunately I sweat a lot when I workout 😅

I think your silk press was crucial! Your stylist evaluated your hair, found tangling, treated your hair with good products & did a great trim💇🏽♀️. Your hair really turned out beautifully🙋🏽♀️ I think it’s important for protective styles to truly protect our hair as we wear wigs. The tangling can be disastrous to our hair, and could end up cutting all the hair off! I think it’s best to get a trim regularly to keep our natural hair healthy & growing. U-Part wigs can be a hassle, but the texture was on point!!
Thats what happened to me recently. My hair was her length before but lost a lot when i got it trimmed and pressed because of this.
I would literally leave like a slice on each side overall looks great im picturing it being teased your natural roots n totally natural looking thanks for your videos by the way u r awesome
Sometimes when I silk press this happens too but I love my hair either way and will wear it bushy like that because I really worked hard to make it healthy. Great video as in always.

I really love how it turned out. I especially love the half up and half down. I see what you mean on the part area when you do the no leave out method and those combs do hurt. What I have done with my u part is take out VERY VERY little for the part and blend my hair with the heat blow drying brush on low (using heat protectant of course) and it worked out fine..no one could tell. This unit is giving me BIG HAIR GLORY and I love it. It was really the crawl out by hubby for me. He is so dog-on funny. 🤣

I think conceptually these wigs are amazing but they need a few more years to figure out the kinks.... they tend to look bulky and it's probably best suited for kinky/curly textures. Also they need to design hair friendly wig clips until then if I had a unit like this id sew it down.

pin curls really help with making straightened natural hair last. I workout 5 days a week; pincurls + satin scarf + cotton workout headband. leave the satin scarf on until the hair dries bc it keeps the hair from having the opportunity to frizz up

Oh Mary, I just can not believe that your hair did not last. Is that normal for a silk press? It was so very beautiful but your hair is beautiful anyway. I think that maybe if you make anchor braids at your part line and then insert the combs, you can do a no leave out look. Just a thought. But, you would probably still have to tease the roots. Thanks for this video! That silk press was beautiful but girl I know that wouldn’t have lasted long once you put in a good sweat! 😂😂 Oh it would be good to know what styles we could use or how to style our hair when introduce workouts with our natural hair! I workout about 3-4 times a week myself and listen my hair is soaked after because I sweat in my head! Maybe consider this for another video 😊😊

I'm loving this look! My go to edge control is She Is Bomb it will keep your hair laid alllllll day. I do not lie. Also my backup is the edge control by TGIN. Really love all your videos! You such a beautiful inspiring woman. What extensions/ wig or hairstyle do you recommend for someone who workout intensively 5 to 6 days a week and sweat a lot ? The best so far for me are crochets, they allow my scalp to breathe and are 0 maintenance, the downfall si that they are synthetics and they don't look good after 3 weeks. I also have a headband wig but would love to try other styles.

Hi Mary. I couldn't find an update video on your channel for the BetterLength kinky clipins or for the CurlsCurls kinky/curly clip-ins. I'm going to buy some from one of these companies, but I wanted advice on which was better, which blended best, etc. Please help.

I wish you had shown the backside. I have issues with mine. I have to overlap tension straps and clip comb to a braid; otherwise, it slips. But I LOVE MY UPART WIG. I also love your videos.
Try 'Honey Vera' Aloe gel. It's not hard, doesn't flake and will leave you edges slicked down for days.

Hello. My silk press usually doesn’t last after a workout. Your has to be trained to stay straight. Meaning you would have to get it done every 2 to 3, weeks and eventually it won’t revert so quickly. Hope this helps.
That’s what I was thinking. It may need to be trained. 😅
