I've always preferred the non folding model 0649 , the look seems more seamless and continuous without the folding hinge at the nose bridge. Currently I own two pair of 0649 and one discontinued model 2924 as well as several pairs of Moscot Originals which I highly recommend, great review cant wait for the next one
An iconic pair of sunglasses that will never go out of style. Lovely review and they look great on you. They are definitely steps above the rest within the price range. Could you do the Persol key West release?
Good evening Love🎉these sunglasses I own a pair of brown tortuse ladies, crystal glass Just a small problem My nose hurts when I'm done wearing them, yet I look damm good in them
Hi unfortunately that is the problem with crystal glass lenses with that they are heavy and can hurt if you wear them for a long time. The best solution I found is that if you get them adjusted right it can help keep some of the pressure off the nose.
I had the regular 714s but Exchanged them for the Steve McQueen edition I don’t know what it was but the Steve McQueen version just fits so much more tighter even though they were both the exact same sizes
I really liked the look and history of them, but I found them way too heavy on my nose. The glass lenses combined with the acetate frame was just too uncomfortable for me.
Had my 649 for 10 years. The large 54mm glass lens is too big on me and definitely heavier. I got the 649 in 52mm and it fits my face with less weight. Just all around better for me. I suggest you try the smaller lens style and see if you like it.
Exactly the same for me. Great shades, but waaay too heavy. I had a pair of those a few years back and they felt almost painful on my nose bridge after wearing them for more than one hour.
Yes I do! Not as much as I use to. I have 3 714s. Two of them are Steve McQueen editions. However out of all my Persols these are probably the ones I reach for the most.
I ordered The persol Steve McQueen 714 and after trying them on had to return them as they are just awful super heavy and honestly look so dated as Steve McQueen wore them back in the 60’s looks like you are wearing your grandfathers sunglasses hahahha there are so many better frames out there TOM FORD has the best frames in my opinion. Plus the part the makes them fold in the middle looks flimsy as after couple of use I had the feeling it would break too... so definitely don’t recommend them!!
Had my persol 649 for 10 years. Absolute workhorse shades. Very durable with 0 problems and they have been to over 20 countries. Best sunglass investment especially when you are getting a glass lens. No plastic lenses compare to real glass. Future proof and always great to wear.
TF are known for being overpriced and poor quality- Persol and Oliver Peoples will last, TF will not. Much better non Luxotica brands out there but OP or Persol would be the only ones I’d consider.

Thank you! I might do a Key West review but it will be a while before I get to it.
Just bought the SM. But would love to see you do a vid for sure on them.

I have a question:
What is the lens size of the 9714?
Can you confirm that the 9714 that you wear near the end of the video are the 55mm? Thank you!

Do you still wear these?
Yes I do! Not as much as I use to. I have 3 714s. Two of them are Steve McQueen editions. However out of all my Persols these are probably the ones I reach for the most.
