These are great for certain situations unfowling a prop getting that lobster thsts just out if reach ect. That said anyone using these needs to understand the pressures associated with diving deeper than 15 feet. If you go down 20-25 feet & run out of air panic and blast to surface you WILL BLOW OUT YOUR LUNGS. You have to surface slowly and ALWAYS ALWAYS blow out a stream of bubbles. If you gota come up fast just yell and blow out all your air. Also remember to take breaks between dives so the body can off gas. Some simple very basic knowledge can keep you safe & make these lil units enjoyable. I dont understand all the hate these get. Cave divers use a pony for emergency its no diff. Fill from a big tank or buy the electric pump for 300 bucks. Much much cleaner air. Stay safe everyone i hope this non negative comment helps some of you be safe with this.

. The people behind the kit, not paying more attention to their questions. losing potential buyers and losing future sales from the ones who purchased already. I gave cameron a question or to whoever runs his instagram chat. Never got an answer. How can u suceed without having customer service. I guess he or them, they dont want to invest in having a group, that can take care emails, chats or whatever. For that Reason i decided to build my own kit,, for way less of his cost. Example.. Selling a compressor for almost $600 dollars. Something anyone can buy onlinefor $279, new. With all the extra accessories too. I own one myself. I dont understand how someone can have such prices, and expect to sell. When there are many online businesses that sell his stuff for way less. How evil someone can be,, to scam people with such prices. I feel sorry for whoevery paid $600 dollars for a compressor that cost him $200 plus. $300 plus at most. But u can find them under $300,, brand new.

@@SouthLightFX I built my own kits. For less than $349 dollars. The other thing that is messed up is the flat rates he uses. Let say you buy the tank carry bag. Thats 19 dollars plus. That should weight in between 2 to 3 pounds plus. But the pack in in a box that will cost u 40 dollars. More than the item itself. Since he buys those boxes in bulk. It may cost im like 10 dollars, a box rated upto 20 LB, maybe. But he charges u 40. When i bought his tank. I checked the cost of the box based on its size. It wasnt that much. PLUS he didnt used bubble wrapp, foam, nothing. TANK ,PUMP REGULATOR. everything loose dancing in the box. A Gadged that will deal with 3k psi. Plus a breathing regulator. It is to be protected. To protect users lives from a faulty item.

@@SouthLightFX Its funnty how he promotes the tanks this yr. Saying small tank 15 mins, large 25 mins underwater. And you can fill them with the hand pump. I bet you anything that he never never ever fill those tanks with a hand pump. Its too draining to fill 3k psi. You might need to pay a couple of Body builders lol. He either uses a compressor or carries a big scuba tank, with a filling attatchment. To instantly fill those thanks. Its all promo, hiding reality of how hard is to do it by arms and bending knees

I think if you are certified and you understand the risks of pressure and nitrogen absorption you'll be ok. Ironically I actually think the limitations of the tank make it pretty safe. If you dive shallow (5Mish), then you will get more time diving/snorkeling but the nitrogen absorption will be slow. Equally if you dive deep, say 20M then nitrogen absorption will be much quicker but you will only get probably 3 or 4 mins of air. Both of these factors provide a safety net. As long as you ascend slowly and breathe out you should be fine. I'm certified and I am going to get one for snorkeling (5-10M depth.)

All well and good until you get some kid with an air compressor who keeps filling the thing over and over again with possibly foul tainted air and dives all day with no concept of repetitive dive tables. Then you've got issues. Better to leave these thing to certified divers... or best not to use them at all. But at the very least a certification should be required to purchase anything like this.

I think this is the best Review about these products! Thanks a lot for You! I just ordered Smaco s400+ 150€ and DiDeep pump 41€ (because of price and no taxes from EU), and hope that it both would work good. AND YES, it is very important to know at least basics about diving ( I was in CMAS (P1)-course about 20 years ago and now need to read book again). If this kind of product interests you I urge you to stop and think before you buy it.
Do you have a scuba diving certification? We dont get these for fun or bragging rights, they do cost money but we get them because there are a lot of risks associated with the kit we use underwater that we need training for, especially with the SCUBA element. Scuba is very safe as long as you know what you're doing, which you wont if you buy this as a stand alone product.
Second, the price is expensive. Yes proper scuba equipment is expensive but that's because your life depends on it. You can get good second hand regulator set and cylinder which is essentially what this is but for a lower cost, just make sure you get the kit tested.

    • @andreac.58
      @andreac.58 4 роки тому +3

@@jimbob.2299 Bends are the less important problem in this kind of situation. First of all, breathing compressed air can cause lungs over expansion even with depth excursion of 40 cm. Moreover the quantity of air consumed by every respiratory act varies based on the depth so you could find yourself with an empty bottle at 8 or 10 m not noticing it (because you do not have a depth meter with you) and not being able to go back to the surface. I could continue but that's why we make courses...

@@jimbob.2299 The expansion of air, even from just ten feet, can cause serious damage to your lungs. You will not feel that expansion until it's too late. You always breathe when ascending and you will breathe out a greater volume than you breathe in.
Also, you always ascend slower than the bubbles around you are rising.
It is a very real danger and I have to endorse what Andrea says: Take a few days of instruction.
With the bends (unlikely with this kit), we can treat.

I either use a 13cf pony bottle or an 40cf pony bottle with regulator and OTS spectrum face mask.
But I did all my research and have yet to go past 8 foot deep. Most 5-6 foot. Even still make sure there’s no holding breaths to even if it’s possible but any over expansion issue.
And may be down for 2-15 minutes.
And over the dry suit a 40 pound weight belt. So I can walk or kneel around the sides checking returns or in the back of light niches for any leaks an repair. Or be able to remove the drain covers and plug the lines and test around the drains for leaks an if need be place the underwater epoxy in any leaking spot.

Now everything is clear, these are not true BA (Breathing Apparatus) tanks. These are not scuba (or even scba) tanks.
The average air consumption on the surface is 6-10lpm. Meaning you’re going to empty this puppy in 2-4 minutes on the surface or 1-2 minutes at 10m/33ft.
So the nickname “Three breathes ‘till death” is pretty accurate.
I would love to try one of these at 30m (whilst on regular scuba).

How many people take breasts and go down 10 ft or more a Snurkling it shouldnt be consider more risky?. Since u go down with just 1 lung fill. Then u have to rush back up, when u feel u cant take any longer staying down. This tanks allow u to breath..... Just pay attention to the gauges, and respect its limitations.

Well, a standard SCUBA tank is 12 or 15 liters, the portable lung is 0,5 liter or 1 liter, not sure exactly. 10 to 15 minutes of air is very optimistic and achievable only is you do a very shallow dives (given the fact that you do not have any redundancy here, very shalow dives are the only ones possible if you value your life and health).
