- My wife purchased this car back around 1999 and used it as a daily driver. Lent it to a friend and had some transmission troubles so it was parked about 2003 in a field....20 years later we dug it out of its hole and brought it home...and we'll see what happens now. Here is an introduction and tour of this car...RPO's and VIN explained!
I have never seen such a Plain Bonneville 😅 the frame is surprisingly rust free for sitting in a field for so long 😁
Neither had I, it kinda caught my attention. I always figured on most of them being fancy, but I guess there were base units.
U have good taste in automobiles sir. 🍻 cheers
I like 80's and 90's GM cars, hard to go wrong with that.
Those bring back memories of Oakland County Michigan in the ‘90’s where a base Pontiac was a popular choice. The potential real value of a $300 base AC car as a local use winter beater is interesting. If the parts needed to fix her up are available at your local boneyard, it would be fun to see her brought back into service on a budget. Like the RPO code breakdown. Would an ozone generator be a good investment for your projects?
Yeah, I like your vibe with this one. I think the videos to follow will less be how to and more like "this is what I did next" type stuff. I'm off to search the bone yard inventories now to see what's available. Could use a good chunk of Junkyard crawls too...put them in the bank for this winter.
Man! those wheel covers would look slick on a pre-facelift Trans Sport or Lumina! Ive always liked the 1st gen Bonnevilles
They would! They are small though at 14”.
I'm curious to see what your plans are with this, as I'll be honest, I'm not sure I see the interest in this car. But different strokes for different folks I guess.
I do and I don't. As a car, you are right, its a car. I wouldn't make a show car out of it, but I would make a daily out of it. As for interest, its free, so there is that going for it. It doesn't need a lot of parts as much as it needs a lot of work, which I can do, along with lots of other projects I need to spend time on.
My first car
Very cool.
More of the cat next time - they look pretty chill.
They have their own channel @fivealbertacats
Nice save!
Yeah, her poor transmission is broken but we’ll see what we can do.
