I'm pleased you did this for us, they're too expensive to experiment on ! I have some sweaters with a silk like lining to keep wind out & they're easier to get on & off too. Well done & keep up the good work.
Thanks 😁 I've never tried a silk lining. Must work pretty well. The only linings I've seen was regular polyester, but then you cut into the breathability. But how does the silk feel when you get heated up in it? The trick is to not wash the sweater for a long time, so they get stiff and you can slip in easier 😜 just kidding 😉
@@philippbergau5868 Mine isn't real silk, so I just checked & it is polyester. It must be 30 years old now & still good, but I've never used it during any real hard work or effort. It's mainly for fishing & I only just got a fishing fly out of it that must have been stuck for 15-20 years ! yes, I look after things & keep them a long time. I'm going back to mostly natural fibres where I can, they're so nice, so long as the meet the performance needs.
Haha. A fishing fly..that's funny 😁 Yeah, Natural fibers is definitely the way to go. Unfortunately my dogs tent to poke holes into my down jackets, so I prefer synthetic filling in those. However, I still have to make my own reindeer skin parka at some point.
@@philippbergau5868 you have fully my taste with this Devold sweater, needs to be washed, to get ist a bit more "wooly", its not only the warmth, its also it turns me on... sorry but a bit sharp see you in this hot piece!!!
The new Nansen sweaters are supposedly "pre-shrunk for fitness, steamed and shrink-treated". Does that mean they won't shrink anymore and it's best to buy your true size?
So. The sweaters are true size and flex quite well in their original state. Even now. Still shrinking. When you wanna do what I did with mine, it needs to be sized up

a nice guy as you talking about wool sweater, hmmmmmmmm
What size would you recommend me to buy for your trick? I am 190cm tall, skinny. Normaly wear size L.
I'd go for an XXL one. Don't forget to stretch it lengths wise. When it's still wet. Than it'll keep the shape once it's dry

Interesting. Gotta check that out. I bought that one last year, and that one was as usual and I did my treatment to it.

Thanks--just go a larger sized Nansen and will do it today! @@philippbergau5868
New sweaters will not shrink, even in boiling water!@@philippbergau5868
That is like boiled wool if you know what I mean. Very warm.
I know exactly what you mean and you're right. I don't like jackets, so that's really the way to go for me.
