- A game i've really gotten to love, and will keep playing. Ostriv is not newly released but it is still in early access and I really want to share this little gem with you.

Sorry if my English is not perfect - Google translates. I am from Ukraine and the developer Eugene is from Ukraine, from the city of Kharkiv. Kharkiv is heavily bombarded with rockets from Moscow. Eugene develops a game about Ukraine and does volunteer work for the defense of Ukraine. In addition, Eugene is very attentive to details and realism, which is why the development is so slow. But it continues and the list of plans is huge and it seems to have everything you mentioned
This game is my favorite. I have played more than 600 hours in several years. In Steam, I published several guides for this game (Vic_Ukraine)
Eugene uses models of Ukrainian houses of the 18th century. This architectural style is called Cossack Baroque. And the music, too, in the style of Ukrainian baroque, very qualitatively reflects that time in Ukraine. Mechanisms in production buildings are also reproduced in great detail and realistically. It is a game and a museum of Ukrainian baroque at the same time.

This is true. To be honest, Mike, I was clutching at straws a little on the negatives. It's a super game and my rating of 9/10 highlights how excellent I think this is, and any "negative" I've pointed out really doesn't matter all that much

This is very enjoyable game
I hope you came to that conclusion after seeing my review and buying it 😜. I think I am going to have to install it again soon and see if it's getting better as a couple of patches have been released since my video.
@@WinOrBinGamingReviewsLittle bit other wise. I Bought it like two weeks ago and played it since when i had time. At first i bought it to support our local indie-developers cause i also from Ukraine. I didn't expect that i will like it so much. And I agree with your thoughts about game except speed. Speed is enough for me. I play it to relax and this slow paced gameplay just about right for me )
Absolutely fair enough if the game speed suits you. For me, it's too slow but if it's ideal for others, then who am I to say otherwise 🙂

To be fair the idea of Ukrainian nationality did already exist before 1917 as it was developed (primarily by nationalist academics with the support of Austria-Hungary) a few decades earlier in the second half of the 19th century.
Ukrainian identity then was heavily promoted by the Soviet elites in the Korenizatsiia while they also destroyed the much older Little Russian identity.

I loathe this game; far better games are out there like Dawn of Man or Cities Skylines
Fair enough. Thanks for your feedback. I don't know Dawn of Man but Cities Skylines isn't really comparible. One is set in medieval Ukraine and the other is a modern day metropolis. I get the "city building" similarity but there are a lot of sub-genres within that.
One has to be an extremely dense individual to compare Ostriv to Cities: Skylines
