OMG! this is so helpful! I just started learning to improvise using the G blues scale, but was getting nowhere. This is a launching pad for me. Thank you!
So what's this blues scale all about was my question and I found this video very very helpful. I can get the ladder of tone and walk my way to the intervals and patterns. I really appreciate your effort here, God bless your heart.
Oh wow, so glad I ran across your channel Paul. Great stuff! I really love the way you have everything structured out from beginner to advanced! I'm definitely looking forward to delving into your channel...and yes you've got a cup of coffee coming up on me!
I'm subscribed to your premium program and you make practice so much fun! I feel like I'll finally learn to play my🎷 well enough to add it in my next band. Thanks Paul!!!
Hi Paul - this is a fantastic learning resource; well put together and structured. Might I suggest a 'listen only' version as having the notes written out on screen makes it a bit too easy for the intermediate player. My instinct is that the harder you have to work, the better you learn! Just a thought...
Thanks Peter! Yes looking away from the screen and trying these phrases but ear is a great way to increase the difficulty! I have some ear training videos that use this idea of not showing the notes.
This may be a tall order, but if you are familiar with a song called 'singing a song for my mother' by Hamilton Bohannon? It would be great if you could do a lesson on it.
Great lesson this! Thanks. Although I downloaded the PDF and it wasnt for Tenor, it was only the Alto sheet music (in G, not C) am I missing something? Hope you can help.. Cheers
Thanks! When you sign up for free you should receive this workout in all 12 keys as a separate email. Maybe check your promotions/spam folder in your mail as sometimes it gets out there.
@@OnlineSaxAcademy Hi Paul, Thanks so much for the swift reply :) I am already a 'free' member so i just logged in, went to your "UA-cam Lesson Library" page, found this lesson, and on that page it said the free content was only one PDF in the key of G for alto. Should there be the Tenor option too( in C)? Hope you can help? Thanks again. Much appreciated
Hi William, that’s a tricky one. I suppose it depends where you are at in your playing and what you are trying to learn. Personally, I prefer to stick mainly to one horn but then players that do work in theatre pits need the skill of being able to switch. I would say if you’re more of a beginner player it’s probably best to mainly practice on one.
Hi Paul, I will be very interested to buy the blues scale workout in the 12 keys. I tested the G blues scale version and it's a fantastic tool. Would it be still possible to buy it (pdf + backing tracks) without any engagement per month ?

I don't play the sax but I found the exercises very useful to play on the piano and the guitar. Thanks for posting.
Great lessons! Clear, concise, useful, to the point and FUN!
Thanks!
Thank you very much, so many tasty licks here. I can't wait to start shedding them.
Enjoy!
Excellent phrasing & creative color. Excellent demostration. Best always, from New York City.
Thanks so much!

Try responding with different runs used in the video instead if repeating the sqme lick
Good idea, you can also try using the same rhythm but change the notes
Very nice sir good job.
Great lesson
Love from Darjeeling. India.

sweet! I try it responding you by ear and it was very fun, and admit in advanced part I mess it up most of time though haha!

Thanks Laurel, similar to Herbie, I was just kind of jamming on the chords Bbmin and Eb7 with a midi bass!

Do you find it helpful or obstructive to learning to go continually back and forth between the alto and the tenor sax?
