    Something I forgot to mention about the FX chain on the Virtual Channel:
    If you have the Insert FX set to "UAD REC" you will record the sound of the plugins.
    If you have the Insert FX set to "UAD MON" you will NOT record the sound of the plugins, though you can still hear the effect of the plugins through your speakers.
    So that might be useful to enable/disable the plugins for one reason or another.

    What program are you using? I have a UA 276 and cannot find any software that looks like this. Thank you.

      UAD Console on an Apollo X. I dont know if a UA 276 would do any of this, unfortunately. I dont think Console works with that hardware.

      @@jasonzdora Does not look like it, which is unfortunate. Bought the UA 276 because of the loopback feature but it doesnt seem to have it. It could be the garbage Luna DAW, dont know. I do not see an option in Abelton or Reaper to mess with the I/O settings. Still a solid video.

      I dont know if its possible with a Twin X duo which I assume is a USB device. Id check the manual.

    Is there a solution to make the bit depth match in Windows settings? I got an X4 recently and only 32 bit is showing-no option for 24 bit. Thanks!

      Is there a problem with the sound of the audio in the loopback, when the windows audio properties are set to 32bit?

    • @__orangejulius
      @__orangejulius 2 місяці тому

      @@jasonzdora not for the loopback specifically, but more so for system playback outside of a DAW.

      @@__orangejulius You would want to get into your sound settings (the old one) by finding "more sound settings" in the new menu. Right-click your speaker icon and go to properties and change the bit depth and stuff there. Im not 100% sure what youre asking but thats the only place you could really manage any of this stuff. Just leave it at 32bit, honestly. Youre not hurting anything.

      @@jasonzdora yes, that’s what I’m asking, sorry for not being clear. In the old sound settings, there’s no bit depth and sample rate option outside of “32-bit, 48k”. I was wondering if you had figured out a solution to that outside of using Voicemeeter because apparently UAD over Thunderbolt doesn’t have full WDM support, leading to issues with Discord and Zoom? I noticed minor clicks and pops during UA-cam and Spotify playback which led me down the bit depth rabbit hole.

    Great video!
    I have an Apollo solo for windows and I cannot find the IO matrix page… so I can’t do this…

      I assume youre using a USB version and not the thunderbolt version. The USB hardware manual makes no mention of the i/o matrix but the thunderbolt version's manual does.

      @@gimbrolias Right on. Yeah, thats a very straight-forward device. But the good thing is that your SHARC chip isnt allocating like 15% of its processor to the features you dont have access to. So in a way, thats an unrelated win for you. Can add a little more plugins in the chain.

    • @jasonzdora
      @jasonzdora  9 місяців тому

      @@DennisLandman There is no I/O Matrix on the USB version of the Apollo. I dont have one so I cant really tell you whether its possible or not. The workflow I show in this video is not possible with that hardware, unfortunately.

    I got the system and DAW audio routed to one virtual channel, however I don't have virtual channels 3/4 routed properly to just do DAW audio If I wanted to seperate DAW and System audio. Do you know if theres a way on windows? I've seen it on mac with routing it via built in OS software, but not on windows...

    • @jasonzdora
      @jasonzdora  7 місяців тому

      Windows only has 1 stereo output. That output is represented on your UAD system as Output 1/2.
      Are you trying to get windows audio (youtube, windows notifications, etc) to come through one set of speakers? And then get your DAW audio to go to another set of speakers?
      What is your goal in physical terms of hardware and workflow?

    • @Weston_Guidero
      @Weston_Guidero 7 місяців тому

      @@jasonzdora no im trying to make another routed audio track in UAD console to Virtual 3/4 from the source of a DAW only. Currently this setup works for both the DAW and System audio routed through one virtual channel, but not 2.
      So basically in UAD Console:
      Virtual 1/2 - Daw audio
      Virtual 3/4 - System audio

    • @jasonzdora
      @jasonzdora  7 місяців тому

      @@Weston_Guidero Gotcha. And you want both of them to come out of the same set of speakers? You just want the ability to set up plugins on the separate Virtual channels for each of them?
      So, system audio (windows audio) can ONLY come out of the outputs 1/2 on your Console I/O Matrix. Keep that in mind. You can assign any Virtual output you want to that set of I/O Matrix outputs.

    • @Weston_Guidero

      @@jasonzdora yeah, but really just to adjust the virtual channels volume individually for an OBS stream so i can basically adjust daw audio output on one virtual channel and system audio (youtube, browser, etc.) on another virtual channel. There's no way of doing this just with windows and uad console? Or do i need to use something like voicemeter pro banana or jack or a third party softwatee

    • @jasonzdora

      @@Weston_Guidero Thank you for providing context. Theres so much nebulous "maybe" with all this stuff so knowing what youre actually trying to accomplish makes it much easier.
      If you want to control your DAW audio and your Windows audio seperately to mix them for OBS, theres several ways to do that. It all depends on which workflow you prefer. This is what I would suggest:
      1- No need for extra Virtual Channels at all. Just create a loopback of Windows system audio inside of your DAW by enabling the same virtual channel INPUTS on I/O Matrix as the ones that you have set to I/O Matrix outputs 1 and 2. You can place those virtual inputs anywhere in the inputs row on I/O Matrix and then simply enable those inputs inside Ableton. You now have Windows audio routed into an audio channel on your DAW. You can adjust the volume from inside Ableton. If you need to separate that from your "real" DAW audio, group your DAW tracks into a single track. Now you have 2 channels on Ableton: 1 for DAW stuff and 2 for Windows loopback.
      Then you just need to get your DAW audio into OBS. For that I would suggest skipping voicemeter and all that stuff. The config on that is a bit confusing. I have a much easier method that I describe here:
      ua-cam.com/video/_glJ09TEh50/v-deo.html
      Sonnobus is awesome. You can also set up 3 instances of Sonobus if you dont want to do the loopback thing described above. I go into the 3 instances method (1-DAW 2-Windows 3-OBS) in the later part of the video I posted above.

    How do you record from UA-cam videos into Luna?

      This video shows how to record UA-cam with any DAW. The DAW doesnt matter. What matters is how you set up your I/O Matrix, which is what this video is about.
