Your ships are so cool! I used to have a Lego battleship called USS Florida until I decommissioned her in 2022. USS Florida had a Phalanx CIWS, several Anti-aircraft guns and missiles, and a main gun. I have plans to rebuild her since the hull is still complete. (USS Florida 2018-2022)
I made my own lego battleship, it was known as the Coalition-class Battleship. Only one ship of the class was built which was the Coalition. The ship's design was similar to that of the Renown-Class Battlecruisers of the Royal Navy, but shorter and the weapons are all different. The main turrets were the same layout, 3 twin-barrel guns. Coalition was built in 1935 and entered service in 1939, she was the flagship of my Lego fleet until she was sunk by German U-Boats on the Mediterranean in 1944.
That’s awesome. I like the phrase “Big guns only” from World of Warships describing battleships and battlecruisers. Now that’s gun boat diplomacy. I should really start building and buying more destroyers and cruisers otherwise my carriers will suffer the same fate.
This is an awesome naval task force and fleet you have, i made my own fleet to which i named "CSG-5" after tue famous Carrier strike group Enterprise CV-6 was in. Ships i have are as follows: USS Iowa, IJN Musashi, IJN Atago, USS Laffey DD-459, USS Long island CVE 1, and im makeing the IJN Chikuma. Happy sailing!
Honestly, my love for lego was dying a bit. But my inspiration has skyrocketed because of you, and now I know what I can do? Thank you so much! Edit: I forgot to say 1 more thing, your ships are actually really damn cool. The designs are amazing, well done!
Reminds me of an old build of my own, HMCS Yellowknife. A (fictional) Canada class battleship that would've been built in the late 1930's as the washington naval treaty collapsed. She was scrapped to due several reasons in 2022, but your lovely video showcasing the evolution of your fleet reminded me of her. I like some of the building techniques you used in your ships and the designs are fascinating in their construction. Great video!
If you don’t mind me asking, but what are the dimensions of the vanguard class? I’m thinking about making a carrier in similar size for my 1/72 planes. Also if you go on rebrickable, there are some amazing planes such as the f4f wildcat and the tbf avenger to complement your carrier.
Thanks for your suggestion. I'll check out Rebrickable. I don't have the ship anymore though I can make an estimation. It's about 54" long and 7.5" at its widest but I would recommend making the flight deck wider to make aircraft operations easier.
i turned a lego mandolorian space maruder or whatever into a battleship with 2 ciws on the sides, a .50 cal dual turret (from cobi) on the top, and either a triple 16" gun loadout or a dual lazer cannon mount. it was sold for scrap about a year ago but has been revived with minor changes
Thanks :). I used pieces I have collected over many years and Lego's online pick a brick store. Currently I am experimenting with many other sources like the Lego store pick-a-brick wall and BrickLInk. I am always looking for new ways to get greater bang for buck.
Nice! I usually do spaceships myself, but I can appreciate a good navy! My best spaceship is an 18" long ship called the Blackhole Constrictor. It has a hangar in the middle with two doors that fold open to deploy a bomber. My favorite of your ships was the Vanguard carrier, very nice indeed (although it appears to be quite susceptible to air-to-sea torpedo attacks due to the open-air lookouts on the sides). Nice video though, keep up the good work!
Dude, this is so cool! Your original designs are awesome, I can tell you actually have knowledge about naval + aviation stuff instead of making up everything!
When watching this video it reminded me about my own lego battleship USS Freedom GJ. This battleship had three 16 inch guns one 8 inch gun two missile launchers and a lot of anti air. It was also equipped with a airplane launcher like the Yamato battleship. Very cool video
Nice navy! You have: 2 helicopters 1 drone 3 heavy boats/destroyers 2 light boats 4 aircraft carriers 12 aircraft 1 support boat My recomendations: more drones would be awesome! Especially for the drone carrier and... mid air refuling? another sub. Also, ballistic missile(s)? 1 Large aircraft carrier with actual arresting wire(s) __________________________________________________ This navy is awesome! This inspired me to create My own aircraft carrier, designated as RLN Exodus. It had Anti-aircraft turrets on each side, and it could fit about two drones and a MH-60R Romeo anti-sub helicopter. I am planning to build more ships to expand my lego navy. Edit:RLN Exodus is now scrapped, now planning to build landing dock ship RLN Dolphin and also i have a support ship which is RLCG Saving Grace. Edit:RLCG Saving Grace and RLN Dolphin are scrapped, I now have a Kiev Class aircraft carrier, not named yet.
These look great, great to see more people building not just warships, but a entire navy And as someone who is really into naval history, it makes them even better
@@81stbrickbattalion so i havent gotten a lot of free time but im almost done. ive added some tug boats and a full hangar with foldable planes. its looking really cool. i even added a crane for loading cargo and stuff. might add some type of helicopter hanger or just a heli pad but yeah
I am impressed. You got a diverse air wing of planes and helicopters, support boats, and logistical components to support all these assets. Remember to add damage control measures like a CO2 fire suppression system, protected magazine and armoury delivery systems, and redundant control systems to increase ship survivability. A good sensor suite of radar and communications can keep your ship aware of its suroundings. Keep up the good work :).
Hello I am currently working on my LOZIANA SS-HSHV. I’m thinking of it to be an old timey aircraft carrier originally designed to transport space shuttles. What are your thoughts on this and do you have any sort of tips
Sounds great! - Make sure to make flight deck wide to accomodate larger or more aircraft/spacecraft - An addition of some cranes can help the ship to recover crashed aircraft or small modules from manned rockets
Cool ships. Mine were pirate ships for a while until it turned into battleships and aircraft carriers. They were mostly focused on being durable and not good looking. They had lazers and railguns and the aircraft are 6th gen+. Prob is they’re all in pieces after a lizard with atomic breath destroyed them😅😅😅
How good are you? I mean like i dont know anyone who can design lego like you do! Keep up the hardwork and you definetley deserve more subscribers ❤❤❤😊
I used a combination of hinges, bricks, and plates to create the bow and sterns of my ships. I also build bulkheads that intersect the outer hull to give the hull rigidity. Ships can be very piece intensive so you might need to make the ship a rainbow. Using the colourful bricks for the bulkheads can save bricks with the colours you want.
Yeah. My navy needs new ships such as frigates, corvettes, or destroyers to escort capital ships and convoys and perhaps replace my older Dolphin Class destroyers. I need find the time though... Maybe you'll see a surprise this christmas.
Very cool. I liked that first carrier with the lower deck cannon, very interesting design! My own Navy has ended up taking a bit of a back seat in favour of a Star Fleet, which also has been growing since about 2007-8. I do very much see a similar evolution of design though, in the build complexity over the years! And I'm honestly surprised how closely your Navy and my Star Fleet mirror each other in terms of detail and variety. Different ships with different roles, fighters, bombers, carriers and all that. Plus of course the detailed specifications about what weapons and technologies each ship has. The main difference I think is that I built the Star Fleet in microscale. So a hello to your fleet from the RSF Infernal!
I do have a star fighter core (X wings, Y wings, A wings, e.t.c) though I have contemplated on ordering Acclamators, Venators, Peltas, or Star Destroyers to form a proper star fleet :). I have to work out the logistics first. That star fleet of yours sounds very cool.
Change in military doctrine and classification as time passed by. By current classification standards it would be better to reclassify that old cruiser as a frigate or corvette.
Very good, I remember I had a Lego ship called the UCS Excalibur (BB-1701) and it was awesome. It stood at 4 feet long (multicolored of course, back then I didn't care about color palates) but it launched airplanes from a runway under the hull, and it was a battleship with massive batteries of spring loaded shooters and the Bionicle ball launchers. It was so much fun
I have actually experimented with that design in mobile game battleship craft/warship craft. The only issue I kept running into was that the flight deck was always catching fire whenever my ship took a hit.
@@81stbrickbattalion yeah, so I am a Simpleplanes player, that's what I do my concepts on, and it is basically an aircraft carrier that has been lowered, and had a heavily armored battleship hill built around it, another one I've experimented with is a submarine with a runway on top to launch planes, then dive out of the way

@@81stbrickbattalion basically it's a runway with rooms for plane storage on the sides, there are large doors on the entrance and exit of the runway that create a waterproof seal when it dives
Tiger class battleship. Reminds me of the Kongo and Iowa class. These fast battleship / battlecruisers are able to keep up with carriers and potentially provide firepower against anything that can chase down a carrier task group. That unit concept is an asset. I will think about it.
